I have this same problem. I've ever installed a new 3.3v Regulator , but the same problem remains. " No heartbeat packet receives" .>> Whats can i do now ??
Good video tutorial. But i have no heartbeat in my apm 2.6 in my conector i2c have 3.3v... I shold have other trouble in my apm. Or this voltage is not real in my apm... Or bootloader is corrupted when i try to downgrade my firmware on mission planner. Do you have some idea about this my friend. And sorry my poor english. Im from Brazil.
Jerry, I tried to fix the two of my 2.7 and they didn't work, the new regulator gave 3.27 volts but I think that's not a new issue. Perhaps I had fried them for permanent. Not only the regulator but something else. Sad.
Sorry to hear that Victor. Yeae, sounds like there's another issue. Not sure too, about the pin out on the 2.7 boards. Last I heard that stopped at v2.6 but some aftermarket companies kept going. Even heard of a v2.8. But I believe U.S. Robotics stopped at v2.6 and moved on to the Pixhawk. What I'd read anyway. Best of luck bro and sorr for the late reply.
This modification worked first time as suggested, Thanks a bunch.
Hi, I've measured the voltage on the I2C connector and is 5V so I don't know if replacing the connector will work. What should I do?
im also reading 12v . did you ever get an answer or solve your problem?
Great video and graphic at the end. I have two of them toasted. I'll fix them as soon as I receive my regulators. Thanks man.

Measure on the i2c connector, the inside pin measured is it 5v or 3.3v. Mine measured is 5v.
What version of the APM are you using?
2.8

is the regulator 800ma or 100ma ? Lastly how many flights did you flew again?
It's the 800ma reg. Flights? I don't know. More than I want to count. Still flying great.
Tried it today and it did not work. I still have the orange light solid.
