I think that the SDA & SCL pins should be connected to the I2C socket? If you take the covers off you can check the connections printed on the board and the gps module.

My APM 2.8 has in-built compass but even when I connect it mission planner, it shows bad compass health. I saw that when we connect the 2 pins above the GPS pin, the compass works, but in my case, even this don't works..... Any solution or I should return this APM?

there was a problem with the module, the seller chage it for a new and it worked...
now i work with pixhawk i left the apm 2.x
..but its a great board

Dont know but mission planner is not working like before i download mission planner 6 times no connection with controller i did this pass 2 weeks.
APM 2.8 They have a mind of their own .work when they want to 6 out of ten work okay dump the rest so unreliable
Remove the jumper which is beside gps port permanently. Thats all problem solved...

I have mine connected just like that but the bottom connector was not pushed in all the way.

o ok, i tried all the positions but the compas module was bad
