She could’ve spent that money taking a vacation with her own child but she decided it would make more sense sending it to a stranger who admitted he stole someone else’s pics. I truly feel bad for her daughter who got dragged into this train wreck
Interesting that most of the "victims" already have kids and they seem to put their real kids aside for the scammer's supposed kids I just don't get that.
Evette has been through a lot. She just wanted to love and be loved. After being rejected by her husband, maybe she was afraid to (physically) get involved with someone else. I feel bad for her.

They weren't smart enough to keep video chatting with the person .They weren't smart enough to know an individual doesn't get a contract to build overseas - those type of contracts go to large architectural firms who have experience in overseas projects.
Single moms have to be SOOOO careful about who we date. If any man drew my daughter in his bed I would never speak to him again. We must protect our kids.
even with what actually happened.. imagine that girl growing up remembering this man that was a big part of her life for years that she never even met and now knows was just a scammer stealing from her mother.. yikes.
Yes. Yes she does. That part shocked me. The scammer admitted he was lying about who he was & wont send a real pic of himself. Why would she believe him after that?
@@normacunningham8913 In my opinion, she continued to believe him because he admitted the pictures were not his. It sounds counter-intuitive, but think about it. He is being SO honest that he admits to using someone else’s pictures. Then he adds an explanation that makes him look like a victim: “I had to use these pictures because I always get hacked. Poor me, but I am being super honest with you!! I am actually telling you I used Andrew’s pictures. Isn’t that the epitome of “trustworthy?” I am so frustrated with the Internet!! Look at what they do to me!! That’s why I don’t want my information or pictures out there!!” 🙄 No, that’s actually the epitome of lying but, because of the manipulative tactics and logical fallacy, it sounds like “honesty.” 🙄🙄
@@MissBeeeBeee , I agree. Its manipulative. The part that really makes me think wtf, is she doesnt see a problem when he wont send a real pic after he already lied about the pics he was using.
She doesn't care, that he stole a stranger's identity, no. What really baffles her is that he didn't draw the picture of her daughter sleeping in his bed. 😂🤣 Amazing.
The primary responsibility of a parent is to protect their child. This woman slobbers over a man she's never met who draws a picture of her young daughter in his bed and it doesn't faze her in the least. This is horrifying.
This woman realized it wasn't Phillip in the pictures....and confronted him. Andhe told her that he stole someone elses pics cause his get stolen and his accounts hacked. And She believed him. SHE BELIEVED HIM. And not only that, but she doesn't have any 'real' pictures of him yet cause 'they won't go thru for some weird reason. AND SHE STILLS BELIEVE HIM. I can't even feel sorry for her.
Weirder yet, she finds the guy whose picture it IS and she friends him on Instagram! What in the actual #**@&&????? I just couldn't understand absolutely anything about that scenario.
1. Scammer seeks older, oversharing women on social media. 2. Scammer detects trauma and pretends to bond over it (loss of a family member, divorce, etc.) 3. Scammer's persona must be: successful, attractive, compassionate, rich, highly educated. 4. Scammer comes up with pet names that make the victim feel special. 5. Scammer pushes for an early declaration of love. 6. Scammer plans shared future and upcoming meeting. 7. Scammer must 'leave the country' for X reason. 8. Scammer's lifestyle is suddenly threatened and need money. 9. Scammer's return depends only on the victim's monetary sacrifice. 10. The victim is too invested and pays. The end.
Why didn't she go to Turkey or whatever if he was stuck there? Given all the$$&& she sent? And, just so happens the pictures never arrived? And! She friended the real guy in the pictures 😮😮😮😮😮 I just can't.
What's weird is that even though this woman is older, she's still a good looking woman. Hell she kind of looks like Jennifer Lopez in her face. So it's like... why? This woman can probably get any man HER AGE, maybe even a little younger, so why is she falling for internet scams like this? Hell, I'm 35 and I'd probably show her a good time for a night 🤣
I wouldn’t be surprised if she continues this relationship. She discovered on her own that his pics were fake… He never sent her real ones and she continues. She likes the feeling of having a boyfriend to talk to day in and day out. Most men, especially in her age group just don’t have that kind of time to be on the phone all day, like a scammer does.
There should be a way to connect men who fall for romance scams with women who fall for romance scams. They all have plenty of time to text and chat. The only hitch is that people who fall for romance scams are average-looking older people, which isn’t enough for many of them. Maybe they can all use fake photos?
@@gravedigger6632 Exaaaactly! I’ve been watching a lot of these videos and I am convinced in their heart of hearts they know this is a scam, but they just enjoy having someone to talk to everyday. Someone telling them they’re beautiful and asking about their feelings. I mean, come on. I understand if you’ve been married a long time you don’t know about dating anymore, but look around at your friends, cousins, TV shows… What relationship involves one person sending money to someone and never meeting them? That’s not a relationship. She was basically paying for a fantasy. Kinda like guys with webcam girls.
When you mix delusion with low self esteem & self worth, this is what you get. I wish all these people would put the same energy into themselves. Imagine the lives they’d be living!
Even at the end, they all seem to believe the guy they are "in love with" deceived them and wanted money, NOT that he was a total imposter. He's real, but just a crook. I don't think they understand what is going on, even if it is explained to them over and over again.
I believe she knew he was fake, but she enjoyed the fantasy very much, and want to stay there longer… just like watching a movie, we all know movies are fake, but we enjoy them very much, we pay to watching movies again and again.
@@davidfrench5407 Sometimes people want something so bad, that they're willing to believe other people's lies and even lie to themselves in order to live in that fantasy and not get struck by reality.
As a former addict, it's easy to recognize these relationships are also an addiction. Like food addiction, love is also an innate need of most humans. Sadly, this has clouded this woman's mind so much that her judgment was impacted and she introduced her daughter to this terrible criminal. The child is the real victim here.
I cant understand parents exposing their kid and /or their pic to a complete stranger on the internet. It doesnt matter how long theyve been chatting with someone. They have NO idea who they're really talking to. It could be a sadistic killer for all they know.
It's so hard to hear and say. But with it comes to affairs of the heart these monsters know how to pull and pull hard. The victim believes what she/he wants to believe. Because of these stories, more people become aware of the scam which makes it is harder and harder to trust. Even those you meet in person should be scrutinized. Just be careful out there folks.
"I developed a very close relationship with the daughter…….she called me Mom". NO! The scammer called you Mom! I think this lady is going to be scammed again, and again, and again………
In certain African ethnic groups it is a sign of respect to call an older woman ma, or mommy, or say 'you are my mother'. Totally a cultural thing that we don't find strange here in Africa.
@@rigelb9025😂 yeah, everything seems scripted in all the episodes. I doubt they are real. This lady is probably a good actress but in some of the other episodes they straight up read from a screen/ a piece of paper in a monotonous robotic voice😅
And what gets me from watching these videos are almost all these “victims” said “I considered myself a smart person….” NO and I’m sorry, none of y’all are “smart” like at all!!
I really don't hear this as an african accent..? I guess it depends where in Africa but IMO the english is better than what I hear from African documentaries.
A psychology professor could devote an entire semester to this topic. It is fascinating. These people are delusional and driven to madness by their own ego.
@@Rebecca1 The scammers present themselves as being in great need and are begging for money. Why do you say they present themselves as EXTREMELY successful???
@@MyAjjisKitchen when she equated her feelings for the scammers daughter to her own child, that told me she has lavished her with a small fortune in addition to whatever she sent to him.
These catfished women are exactly like the ones who start "relationships" with incarcerated men. They don't want true love, they want the fantasy and distance.
Oh, yes. They frequently do. That's a whole other scam. I received letters (pre email and social media) from convicts trying to start up a correspondence and I'm sure the goal was to get money. I never responded to any of them. It did freak me out as to how they got my name and contact information, though.
The thing you need to do is either say "I got a cheap flight to Turkey and I'm coming over this weekend with cash to sort this out and you can fly home with me" or "I've just spoken to the US Embassy and gave them all of your details. They are going to send a representative to meet you to sort out your banking issues and get you home within the week." -- that usually gets rid of them
It’s nice advice in theory but in reality most of these people are so addicted to the fantasy that they’ll find just about any excuse to keep it going, and the scammer’s always got plenty of those 😏
Always when there's audio of the scammer's voice it's SO OBVIOUS with the voice, accent of an African man. It baffles me how these women could never notice it.
Yeah, denial. Hard... and the whole "I'm in Turkey and my bank got frozen" bs... smh... my sister just got back from Turkey and it's not some third-world hole in the wall lmao. Bank accounts work just fine there...
Yeah, how was she ok with him lying about something so important? And why didn't she demand that he send actual photos of himself or at least Facetime? Unfortunately I can somewhat relate to this woman because I've put up with BS behavior in relationships because I was afraid to offend the guy or drive him away. I don't suffer foods anymore, as the saying goes.
I suspect that scammers do this order to help make the scam work better. If the woman is receiving affection from both her so-called boyfriend and her so-called stepchild, that will make her feel love and more willing to send money. It’s another type of love bombing. Excessive and inappropriate levels and types of affection designed to make the victim do what the scammer wants.
That was the most pedophile sh I've ever heard. Single women with children better be more cautious about who they let around there little ones. Hate to say it like this u chasing D may put your children in harms way. Pedos don't have a look to them anymore the guy that tried to kidnap my at the time 8 year old look like an ordinary guy just be careful
I dont know what either of them was thinking with the daughter in his bed. Good grief. He lies so much he must've just been making stuff up as he goes. Also, why is she telling him that her daughter's room doesn't look like that 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈
What?! She knew that man in the photos was someone else. This woman is a lunatic- if a man draws a picture of your daughter in bed, you block him and spend the next house vomiting because that’s disgusting. She’s desperate and sad. No wonder she’s been scammed.
Her ex husband dodged a bullet. Just unbelievable. OK, Philip admits he stole Andrew's photos, she befriends the real Andrew on Instagram AND NEVER INSISTS ON GETTING PHILIP's real photo IMMEDIATELY??? What was she expecting from these investigators??? Something strange is going on here. She sent $20,000 over 2 years to a man who would not send her his photos and they talk each other to sleep every night ??? .....and he'd fly to her in his friends private jet ??? This is the sad reality of the delusion of some of these women. She'd convinced herself that Philip looks as good as Andrew and nothing else matters even if Philip winds up a 4ft pygmy with pot belly from West Africa.
A couple of minutes listening to this woman has fried my brain. Nothing but word salad. Scammers are scum but she's an easy target. The lights are on but nobody's home.
A scammer, no matter how good they were, could never get over on me for the simple fact that I can’t stand when people message me too much. Lol. And anyone calling me beautiful and all that right away is a turnoff. And the mere utter of the word “clingy” would send me fleeing
If someone i recently met comes on strong & "loves" me. I shut that down real quick. And the ones that want you to email or message their kid, sets me off on a not so nice rant at them. I know they dont have a kid. But to try to use a "kid" to scam people, makes them scummier than rotting garbage.
Me as well. I'm naturally skeptical and leary of people as it is. And I can't stand the constant dinging of my cell notifying me of too many corny texts from a man. Especially it being a man makes it extra bothersome for behaving like a huge titty baby
Wow, that lady really missed a giant red flag. The picture he told her he drew with her daughter in his bed. OMG!!!!!!! CREEP!!!!!!! Congrats to have a real date with a real person. Think now is the time to just enjoy yourself and take the time to heal.
Why do these people wait till they send thousands, & thousands of dollars, or literally send everything they have....instead of checking these people straight out of the gate??
I know, it's wild. Whenever they say things like "I feel he's real" or "I think he might be real" I'm like ????? So you "think" he MIGHT be real, yet... you're down at the Western Union clearing out your bank account. Wtf?
I find it disturbing that Ivette spoke so warmly about Phillip's daughter yet said nothing at all about her own. She says repeatedly that she was being faithfull to Phillip but, IMO, she was being UNFAITHFUL to her own daughter. I wonder if her daughter knew that mom was "mothering" a girl she had never met and how she would feel about that (probably very hurt).
I find it so funny that these women are often interviewed via video call, yet never question why they can't see the scammer on video calls. If you're dating someone living far away, you'd constantly be face timing and zooming with them.
If I click with a guy online, I'll move to video call straight away. And I know they give some excuse why they can't facetime, but why not ask for a video? They have cell phones, they clearly can record a quick video. Pics are easy to fake, videos aren't.
@@WobblesandBean Same! There are enough ways to "see" each other in our day and age. If they're constantly unable to show themselves, something isn't right.
@@Ixoraisavampire I'm sure they say that. But how believable is it that the camera is continuously broken on both computer and phone? And aren't many of the scammers allegedly well-to-do business men, i.e. men who claim to have enough money to afford a working camera or even need to be able to use a camera for work calls etc.? Just proves these women switched off their brains while they were being scammed. Not their fault, but it should be a warning, like use your head when online dating.

So, here we go again, a professional person goes to do some work in another country and can't fund themselves! I have been working on projects all over the world for nearly 40 years and I always have had financial arrangements in place before I travel and have NEVER been caught short on my trips. I know plenty of other professionals who do similar work and their experience is the same. Why do these women continue to believe the bull they are spun and keep giving them money?
They conveniently forget that there are things such as credit cards, 24/7 phone access to one's bank, American embassies, etc. A financially stable person isn't going to ask for a Google Play card to buy food.
I know! She said his story was “that good.” Lady. Watch 4 or 5 episodes of this show and you will see that his story is a formula. Right out of the scammer’s playbook.
I never stop wondering WHY almost all of the victims consider themselves "very smart", but doing completely the opposite in a course of many months, and even years like in this case? Just really, can't comprehend what's wrong with their self-assessement in that matter.
You'll find an interesting trend. It's always been in my experience that the people who self-describe as smart are either completely clueless or insufferably egoistical. The hubris...
It's not a deal breaker for someone who is lonely. It's a sign that the other person wants and needs them, will give lots of attention, etc. It's a ploy of the scammers, and actually a very good one.
@@minoozolala unfortunately, keyword in their sentence was “should” but a lot of people love to feel needed, not just wanted, but truly needed. @@tinydream Yes, it's often a sign of unresolved codependency. Good for you for having learned to see your trigger in that area. I also think that women who nursed their terminally ill husbands for months or years have that feeling of being needed stirred up by the scammers.

Terrifies me that this woman has a daughter to take care of. The lack of basic logic and judgment is very concerning.
1. Scammer seeks older, oversharing women on social media.
2. Scammer detects trauma and pretends to bond over it (loss of a family member, divorce, etc.)

Not smart just plain stupid
We sleep together, lol stupid!!! He sleep on his phone
It's emotional manipulation, not mental.
Isn't the meaning of insanity actually doing the same dumb thing over & over and expecting different results?
You'll find an interesting trend. It's always been in my experience that the people who self-describe as smart are either completely clueless or insufferably egoistical. The hubris...
3:23 “him admitting that he’s very clingy and needy” is a MAJOR red flag. That alone should’ve been a deal breaker for her.
i know lol lol
My exact thoughts. I watch a lot of true crime and experienced abuse in the past. That’s usually the first sign of abuse that could get a lot worse.
It’s usually a sign of codependency issues, which most scam victims definitely have and need to go to counseling to heal. I have it, too, but I try to recognize when I’m doing it and avoid people who trigger that reaction in me so I don’t fall back into that mindset again.
@@tinydream Yes, it's often a sign of unresolved codependency. Good for you for having learned to see your trigger in that area. I also think that women who nursed their terminally ill husbands for months or years have that feeling of being needed stirred up by the scammers.
He’s got friends that will let him borrow a Jet .. but won’t help him with money ?!?!
Lolol
Never fall for a man who asks for money.
And certainly don’t be ok with him sketching your daughter laying in his bed 😮
I feel like that would totally turn me off.
I know what you mean daughter or no daughter
I just don't understand what would make someone think that's a good idea. Even if it were just a guy/girl they knew in person you should NOT be with someone who keeps asking you for money.
Y'all act like your significant others ain't never ask for money
Seriously can’t believe how blindly vulnerable people can be 🤦♀️
It's very easy if you are lonely and needing to feel loved and wanted. She needs to get out and meet real people in person, and that might be a scam too, but she will possibly be able to recognize the lies in person. NEVER give your money to anyone....
Unbilievable, how much people are willing to pay for their fantasy or therapy. "The heart has reasons that reason ignores". It becomes burdensome to watch.
@@Franckbery yes, some women are very emotional but Google how many men get scammed the same. Some men want that younger fantasy and women want Prince Charming.
Vulnerability is not what I see. I see emotional desperation and low IQ.
I think you mean “ridiculously gullible”
There is about 8 hours time difference between the US and Turkey. How can they fall asleep talking together?
He is night shift architect 🤣

Even the scammer tells her he doesn't want his info on the internet. OMG how desperate is this clown of a woman?
Who talks to someone on tinder for 4 years? You meet up after a few weeks of talking.
Someone who isn't upfront herself. About age and recency of profile picture. My guess.
A few weeks? I'd meet the person same day lol
Had a failed LDR. Communicated over a year. He texted phony photos and ran.
@@debmccafferty1007LDRs only work if someone can and is willing to move. Learned that lesson the hard way.
"I'm a very smart person"... The level of delusions these people experience is hallucinatory.
It’s crazy. She was caught by him saying, “hey.” Gimme a break. How old are these people? Their mentality is so juvenile.
that's funny as hell ! ty
is that even a word?
She believed everything the scammer told her. She needs therapy!! I just cannot believe these women fall for this crap!
AMEN! I don't get it either
“I’m a very smart person…”
No. No, you are not.
Were these people raised in caves? How can you be over 40 and have not heard or seen anything about these scammers before and how they work? And they hear their voices and can't hear the accents? Just incredible!!
i’m 43. the internet was brand new when i was a young teen. i got proposed to in chat rooms daily. i was keen to every form of scam in full force from the very get go. not once did i get fooled by any type of scam thrown at me. i get a visceral response that screams red alert, immediately, every time. it seems You either innately have an instinct about them, or it’s naturally very weak. it’s mind blowing how some of these people can fall for the same scam over & over again.
@@LaciRae im glad you were smart and have common sense!
HAHAHA
His profile has been hacked, but he's hacking someone else. What a joke she's willing to be part of
That is what some of the military will say like Austin Miller is a military profile scammers use a lot. THEY steal the whole profile.
And make believe it's Austin Miller when it's a scammer behind. And they'll say that their profile was hacked that's a total Lie
_"He sounds English British Aussie, without a doubt."_
Well that makes sense 🤦♀️
Nigerian accent all the way!
Very Nigerian!! This lady needs to get out more...Aussie and British is two very different accents. He sounds like neither.
Why do so many Americans think British and Australian accents sound the same?

"I know Andrew" "I'm friend's with him on IG" 😂 God this show is too good 😂😂
She's insta friends with the guy whose photos her "boyfriend" stole ... That's creepy
"I developed a close relationship with her..." the things people are willing to create in their heads are astounding
It's that they never met in person that blows my mind. Step parents are a thing but they tend to be around for a while before they are called mom/dad. In many cases it takes years to form that bond with a step parent.
I feel sorry for her real daughter
Yep I think there is some sort of .mental issues going on with these 'victims' I mean like they created this whole fantasy in their minds until it becomes so real to them...smh
She waits for four yrs before she wants to know if he's real or not. Gesssh
🤷🏻♀️🙆🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Derrrrrrrrrrr
How do you be "faithful" to someone you never met for four and a half years? These romance scammers are good. The quality of these videos are getting better!
Romance scammers are not good, but people are just delusional. This one, for a change, writes a good English, but most of them can't make a proper English sentence, and can't talk about anything if they don't copy and paste.
They prey on loneliness and desperation. The scammers are not that sophisticated.
The victims are looking for someone to love them in return due to loneliness, whether they're divorced, broken up or becoming a widow or widower or they never had any friends or family to be around so they prey on the lone wolves!
@@kaym7704 No they aren't. I'm not even looking, I'm happily married, and have been targeted on fb many times. Sometimes I'll string them along for kicks. It's interesting how far they will go if you act like you are buying their story. Most are dumber than a post.
@John Sampson we all what to believe something wether its true or false!
