I'm a 60-year- old woman, not from the US. Through Facebook I've been contacted by an English engineer working on an oil platform, a New York detective and a French soldier, all handsome as models. All were madly in love with me. I found all the stock photos these guys were using. My friends and I had a good laugh
_"Hello, random Facebook woman who my father just met. I know my dad hardly knows you and I barely see HIM as it is, but I hope that when you guys get married you will be my mother."_ Yep, that checks out. That's definitely the first thing a teenage boy would say to a random 60something year old woman over the internet during their first conversation, simply because his dad said he met a nice lady. Makes sense. 🤦♀️
yeah, I am a stepmother of kids that were teenagers down to 5 years old, I can tell you they were not thrilled with me one bit and we had a very tough relationship for years and years, now I think we are family and love each other very much, but they don't want you in their life, they want their real mom
@@shonii119 I agree. My girlfriend has three kids and her children were not looking for an instant Daddy. If my parents happened to split up when I was a kid I still have a mother and father no matter who they met afterwards.

She's still fixated on this person. When she found out he's really a doctor her first question was "Is he a widower?" She was still hoping to swoop in and become a part of this guy's family.
she is probably planning to contact the real guy and rag him around which is unfortunate because anyone that has had their profile stolen has been suffering for years with people hating on them
They target widowed and divorced older people. Of that group, the ones you described are the ones who often fall for the scam. Come to think of it, they sound personality disordered -- low self esteem and high arrogance.
They are so brazen...! Impossible to believe people would fall for this. I'd go online and check the faculty list for 'Mr Dickenson' (sic) as soon as that name was mentioned - at which point he'd probably be mysteriously "transferred to Eton".
The common denominator with these romance scam stories is a huge lack of awareness. The lady thinks she's a lot more attractive and young than she really is. This is also true with men.
Word. I don't know if you saw the episode yet where the woman thought she was dating mark Zuckerberg, but that was another lady that was so far in denial it was crazy.
@@brookiegremlin6660 Yea! XD Its so dumb, because even if his accounts were froze (which is impossible) He'd still have credit cards he could use. And then he was saying he had no money for food or to live, but, normally if your wife is leaving you, you still live in the same house, which means he has access to a fridge stocked full of food. And even THEN if by some miracle, he couldn't be at his house, the guys rich. He could literally go to any elites house (or a friends house) and I guarantee you he could have free room and board for as long as he needs. The thought that a wealthy persons entire livelihood rests on a man/woman they just talk to online is insane. These people who get scammed must have some kind of complex to think like that.

society shoves marriage and children down women's throats from a very early age. if you're a single woman without either, society (family, friends, coworkers, social media etc) makes you feel less than, and at some point, desperation kicks in, you miss all the red flags and end up getting used, abused then left with nothing......
And self sometimes totally unaware.. What would a handsome young model looking guy want with an older woman who looks like they've Bern through a war and lost. I am amazed how many women get catfished
A stranger adult contacting a child online, sending them a "family collage", talking about adult relationships, proposing to be a substitute mother.... is wildly inappropriate. Thank god that child was not real - he'd be so damaged.
i just wanna state the obvious that i do not support any form of child exploitation by an adult through the internet or otherwise, but i especially dedicate a portion of my time to discovering underage girls being exploited by old men online for money in exchange for photos, youd be amazed how this stuff is just advertised on tiktok, twitter, and ig if you know where to look, probably snapchat too but i have no experience dealing with that. i get profiles taken down all the time honestly usually of the child because its hard to find much proof on the pedos end because they are sending money to these girls off platform. with that said, i dont think this particular situation is as damaging as you are making it out to be. if this kid really did not have a mother, it could be beneficial for him to have a mother-like figure to talk to. and in this hypothetical situation, the father is aware of whats going on. when it comes to the accounts i investigate, i have come across a very small amount where the parents seem to let their underage girls basically sell CP(you can tell as they are filming suggestive tiktoks of them) but obviously the majority have no idea their kids are talking to adults. But here, I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about... its not like they were having sexual conversations, why would that be damaging. the kid is seemingly old enough that he wouldn't be completely attached to the idea of a new mommy like a 5 year old. i'm curious why you think this child would be so damaged by this? if the child is real hypothetically, than the dad is also real, and he would really be talking to this woman. he would either have no interest in having a future with her and probably never introduce him to his son, but if he did introduce her to his son before he met her in person, it would be because he probably does want a mother figure for his son. i don't see how it is damaging for him to have a safe adult motherly confidant to talk to. the collage thing is weird but...old people are weird. i'm not sure what you mean by "talking about adult relationships" there's nothing adult about it, nothing sexual being said... theres nothing wrong with him knowing that a woman is hypothetically dating his father. that's fine to tell a 6 year old let alone a a 10-12 y/o. if this kid really was at a boarding school away from his only living parent, it would give him a sense of home and comfort to talk to his father's gf esp if he doesnt get to talk to his father much. I don't see it as wildly inappropriate at all. these days people want to make every interaction between a child and an adult seem like something it isn't. It's ok for a child to talk to an adult that his own parent talks to and approves of. It's literally not much different than his father having a girlfriend in real life and them talking in real life. don't look for dirt where there is none, especially when theres so much of it in all crevices of the internet that needs to be investigated and reported. this was years ago, i was around 19 or 20, but my mom had an online friend she met from forums about religion that she would talk to very often, and he was a 16/17 y/o boy from india. they would just talk about their lives, he would talk to her more about his obviously, but she would talk to him about me or her husband. he viewed her as a mother and said he couldnt talk to his own mother about things like girls, how to approach them and talk to them, his insecurities on having never dated a girl, his own mother was too religious to vent to and far too busy to give him any attention because she had like a dozen children and this kid was old and for all intents and purposes an adult to her so she basically stopped mothering him, other than cooking and cleaning for him. but my mother provided the emotional support of a mother and he would talk to her about education his future career opportunities girls he crushed on, maybe giving him the confidence to approach a girl he liked, stuff like that. when people are lacking a roll in their life, they often seek it out in whatever way they can. I'm sure you think that is wildly inappropriate too, but neither of them ever crossed any sort of line into inappropriate territory. it was mutually beneficial for both of them; i was away at college during the week and most weekends so she wasn't able to talk to me, her child, like she was used to.
Did she say she likes baking and describe them as the unique thing that women don’t like to do but that she does? She has some sort of superiority complex

I wonder if the scammers just get a new profile and contact them again. Now that they know so much about them, it would be pretty easy to do. They are vulnerable and are desperately looking for someone to tell them everything they need to hear.
@@susanjohnson6192that's definitely what happens.. It's also usually a group of scammers working on one person. But yes - if someone gets mad at one scammer "identity", the group will contact them under another profile

After listening to this story for about 10 minutes, I googled how much money the UN pays doctors they employ. In less than 1 second, the answer came back that the UN does NOT hire doctors, but uses local physicians in whatever country they are present in. So an American doctor would (a) not be hired by the UN and (b) would not be sent to Syria or any other country. That took longer to type than it did to research.
Well not only that but we these scamming they are always in the army ,are doctors or are expecting gold or inheritance so why would they need your money. Right then and there you should run. This lady needs a therapist as she has low self esteem 😮
The scammers all seem to use the same story. Every Doctor is employed in Syria by the UN and have their bank account and credit and debt cards frozen. 90% have kids in boarding school in England dispite the fact they live in the USA.
'When we first meet, I expect you to look professional. Come in a sports jacket...' She's telling a grown man how to dress and doesn't see anything wrong with that.
After binge watching your videos, I feel like I have earned a Ph.D. in scamming. Now I just need to go to a shady website and print out my fake diploma.
This lady was hanging on to every ounce of hope. “Is René a widower?” Lady… you got scammed. Let it go. She was just not getting it. The dr and kid exist, but they are not the ones you are talkking to.
This was simply normal process of her mind, exiting the fake scenario. As you see at the end of the video, she worked her way out of it and blocked the guy and has moved on. Good for her bravo lady. It’s one thing to be a victim and another to recognize it and get out and she’s done that.
I don’t know if you’ve seen it but one on these videos believed she was truly talking to Johnny Depp. “Jonny Depp” sold her one of his NFT’s and also asked her for gift cards. When the truth came out she wanted the real Johnny Depp to make it right and give her what she bought from the scammer. According to her the true Johnny should be stopping these scammers with his lawyers. No, she should be stopping them with her brain.
My 65 year old mother gets a message on Facebook from a handsome orthopedic surgeon veteran with dogs with every single day. She laughs and blocks them.
The scammers weave a romantic tale. They never talk about real life stuff like “My kid was a jerk today” or “I ate too many burritos and have a stomachache.” These scammers create very two dimensional characters.
Any scam is a romantic tale. They always tell you that in a past life you were a King, or Cleopatra, etc. not a street sweeper in London flattened by a truck lol. Always the fantasy.
They only talk about Bad stuff when it’s part of the scam. Stuff about how you have a stomach ache because you ate too much food or that your child behaved badly isn’t useful to choking somebody out of their money.
Oh they do. It just usually follows a request for money. They are all lovey dovet until the stomache ache hits and then they needs money to go to the doctor. It's never just telling them about a bad day because they want to talk to that person about it.
A moment of awakening for me: I was trying to figure out how there can be people who believe the earth is flat in this day and age. Now I understand! 😂😂😂
Believing that someone thinks that Earth is flat, is a scam for naive people. It was made up, to discredit opponents. To ridicule someone who tells an uncomfortable truth that people should not listen to. They called such people "flat earthers", to stop the information from them.
Being single is the most underrated thing ever. I can’t understand why people go into such deep delusion just for the hope of being with some complete stranger they have zero compatibility with. It’s mind boggling. Being an elderly person who’s main priority is finding someone to start a family with is just crazy to me.
I got to say, I expect the collage freaked out the scammers! If the father is scamming her, then it is obvious the kid is not real! Does she genuinely think the scammer would be using his real son…? Come on!
dyeing alone is scary. I don't know if you have ever had a mid life crisis or mental crisis, but the realization of death and being alone without a family to help in the final years is really unpleasant.
Because people desire that companionship. You say that because you're content with being single amongst other ways you go about YOUR life. However, what works for YOU might not work for someone else. Loneliness is a type of madness that the plain fact is you'll delude yourself to escape the reality of your situation hence is sometimes the case with these people. Others in these videos want the hottest thing but this women's been through a lot and she wants to feel loved. These people have been single for so long that they want to feel loved. Can you comprehend that? Even if their completely stupid for falling for this, it's still remains a factor.
Even after they explained that this "Dr. Paul" guy was not who she thought, she proceeds to ask if the real Doctor is a widower. Good grief. Even after it was explained that he was a scammer, she said that they "had plans for the holidays". Give it up lady!
These people are very emotionally invested in these relationships. It's very hard for them to let go this dream that they had of a happy life with love and a family.
I was thinking even if he was a widower he wouldn’t be checking for you. A man that high value would have women lined up around the corner at a much younger age bracket.
I start watching each story and think..."ok perhaps I will see this woman as a vulnerable, lovely human." Instead she's arrogant, delusional, controlling, and creepy. Who tells someone how to dress on a first date? Who makes a collage of themselves with people they've never met and send it to a kid? I feel for her, but usually people put forth their best self in public. Scary.
Many of them just don't have the same critical thinking skills that you have and it carries over into certain things they believe and say. It is likely what makes them targets in the first place.
Hence why her only prospects are just scammers. Scammers never get offended unless you don’t send them money so they’re easier to deal with than real people with a brain that requires mutual respect to want you.
For anyone interested in psychology, it's interesting how she seems like the type to choose a narcissist. She's very invested in the idea of "presentation" over substance. Probably the type to run a toxic family that "looks" good to the outside world
🤔Is she choosing narcs or is she one herself, concerned about how his appearance reflects on her? Or both? Her photos are so filtered they're silly. I'm fascinated by their psychology.
My dad told me if a man ever asked me for money to say "I'm sorry but I don't hang out with bums". It works every time. They get offended and stop talking to me. This has happened numerous times on Facebook.
Why do I get the feeling she also presented herself as something she wasn’t? Heavily doctored photos is also a deception- be yourself, stay grounded, meet in video chat, real life. She loves the fantasy “is Rene a widower”
I was so hoping someone noticed that same thing. Hella cakeup, yes, cakeup not makeup and filters. She was almost as dishonest as the scammer. Had the scammer actually been really he likely would’ve been mad at how different she actually looks.
Yes, the picture she posted was probably 20 years ago so the scammer scammed her and she scammed the scammer! Please warn your older parents who may have lost their husband or wife! I’m kinda’ shocked that this older generation knows how to use crypto! 😂😂
This generation of ladies never ceases to amaze me: "I like to bake and cook unlike other women"; "I was told you can meet men at the grocery store and I did"; "I expect you to look professional, with a sport coat"...
I dated a retired optometrist for a couple of years. He showed up on our first date in a T shirt and cut offs. Why would I care what he wore. She's crazy
When she asked if the real guy was a widower, I LOL'd. It sounded like she was asking to see if she still had a chance and then after everything she's told, her reply is "well, that's what he told me/sent me"
You can tell she is holding onto every bit of this scam for dear life. Every reveal is met with skepticism on her part because she wants it to be real. She’s been very foolish but very human. I wish her well and hope she’s a bit wiser now.
As soon as I saw his profile I knew he was fake , a doctor yeah right , falling in love with you so fast , lady I feel so sorry for you , a son , they will use anyone of their family to scam you , they just want your money , and would every bit of your money from you , and calling babe , and baby is nearly always Nigerian , believe I learnt the hard way , now I can sit a scammer a mile off , I research everything , you also made yourself to look younger than you are , believe me , they wouldn't care if you looked ninety , as long as they get your money , learn from this , and just block anymore that comes through , I wish you all best x

I'm a 60-year- old woman, not from the US. Through Facebook I've been contacted by an English engineer working on an oil platform, a New York detective and a French soldier, all handsome as models. All were madly in love with me. I found all the stock photos these guys were using. My friends and I had a good laugh

They target widowed and divorced older people. Of that group, the ones you described are the ones who often fall for the scam. Come to think of it, they sound personality disordered -- low self esteem and high arrogance.
Those who are not desperate and arrogant are the ones who do not fall for the scams

A stranger adult contacting a child online, sending them a "family collage", talking about adult relationships, proposing to be a substitute mother.... is wildly inappropriate. Thank god that child was not real - he'd be so damaged.
Right?! I was like 😳 how is that appropriate?!
@@ellenicoletv4095 I know!!!! And she's a teacher. 💀
i just wanna state the obvious that i do not support any form of child exploitation by an adult through the internet or otherwise, but i especially dedicate a portion of my time to discovering underage girls being exploited by old men online for money in exchange for photos, youd be amazed how this stuff is just advertised on tiktok, twitter, and ig if you know where to look, probably snapchat too but i have no experience dealing with that. i get profiles taken down all the time honestly usually of the child because its hard to find much proof on the pedos end because they are sending money to these girls off platform. with that said, i dont think this particular situation is as damaging as you are making it out to be. if this kid really did not have a mother, it could be beneficial for him to have a mother-like figure to talk to. and in this hypothetical situation, the father is aware of whats going on. when it comes to the accounts i investigate, i have come across a very small amount where the parents seem to let their underage girls basically sell CP(you can tell as they are filming suggestive tiktoks of them) but obviously the majority have no idea their kids are talking to adults.
I was thinking the same. That was insane.
Also her pic was in the "collage" TWICE!!! 😨

Being single is the most underrated thing ever. I can’t understand why people go into such deep delusion just for the hope of being with some complete stranger they have zero compatibility with. It’s mind boggling. Being an elderly person who’s main priority is finding someone to start a family with is just crazy to me.

I totally agree. I found myself screaming at the video saying "Girl why are you still asking questions they just told you he was full of shit 🙄"
And she misused the apostrophe in the word holidays when she typed it. Guess she didn't teach English!
After they told her, in detail, he was a scammer, she still made up excuses for the scammer!
It is likely what makes them targets in the first place.

...Again, a huge level of narcissism, greed, stupidity and cognitive dissonance.
in other words "MAGA"
This generation of ladies never ceases to amaze me: "I like to bake and cook unlike other women"; "I was told you can meet men at the grocery store and I did"; "I expect you to look professional, with a sport coat"...

How on earth can these women be this naive?? Doesn’t she realize the no orthopedic surgeon is going to be interested in her? Older/middle aged people online are always funny to me tbh because they will use filters that are so obvious. Like their nose has almost disappeared their skin looks unrealistic, etc.
Hardly. Most people online wants to present the best image of themselves. And that normally means filters or professional photos.
Knowing she looks like she could be his mother didn’t set off alarms. Even after a friend was scammed. She is her own worst enemy.

Teacher Gladys learned the hard way that presentation isn’t everything, like she stated in the beginning of the video… The scammer presented himself as a professional and successful man; however, it was all deceitful. It goes to show that being a professional, such as a teacher, doesn’t necessarily mean that someone is knowledgeable, nor does it mean that someone has common sense.

@@Out_on_a_Limb_Life thanks for that comment. Miss Scarlett is a little off. A woman who gives a man money is a woman who is genuinely interested in the man. Now of course that man should not accept it but should take it as a sign of her being real and not using him for money
