The saddest part of possibly the entire show was when BMO didn't remember Finn's name 1000 years in the future. It seems he didn't even remember his own name, though BMO does sometimes stretch imagination to the extremes.

The person on the stone duck is Marceline, she is wearing red boots and and the symbol is her signature/symbol. A theory is that she may be looking for PB, which further suggests the person with pink hands in the jail is PB.

I REALLY THINK that the person in the ice jail is NOT PB because she is really smart and being captured by something so simple is really unlikely since she makes really impressive gadgets and I think it may be aunt lolly but I think its most likely the pink guy that helped lemonhope in a hot air balloon and may be captured while flying over the ice kingdom.
Maybe the kingdom of sweets got freezed and all the people are frozen and marceline and pb are the only people who know each other

theory about the statues: while finn and jermaine were normal somewhat human and dog, remember that jake was an alien, who probably lives longer, so I think that he made the two to honor his brother and best friend

@Khup Muang they still look like forget me nots w the petals and in pretty sure it was confirmed on Twitter that the flower was forget me nots, but I could be wrong on that, and ik your really trying to be right and if you are that's great more episodes with jake, but keep in mind the drawing of the tattoo is very minimalistic and they probably didnt include yellow in the center bc Jake's yellow and in such minimalistic art it would probably clash badly. Just bc they dont look exactly like forget me nots doesnt mean it wasnt just for a more aesthetic character design. But when the rest of the season comes out well know for sure, calm ur highhorse in the future :)

Something that I’ve come up with.. in the finale when BMO sings “time adventure” To me it seems one of the greatest goodbye songs in a cartoon I have ever heard. When I started thinking about it I instantly thought this: the song was a way for the team to tell us “hey it’s gonna be okay, the show will still go on” as if it really will... Keeping in mind that reincarnation is a big part of adventure time lore.. Finn and Jake will continue to Happen, happening, and happened as in they will keep reincarnating and as we can see with Shermy and Beth, they are pretty much bound to each other. Finn reincarnates while Jake lives with Finn through his blood. But no matter what, the true Finn and Jake will always be back then

It's so apparent that the show wasn't even close to running out of ideas. I'm sure, that Finn and Jermaine thing would've made a great episode.
And your feeling about having a gaping hole is incredibly mutual. It also didn't help that the finale was so open ended, like don't get me wrong I thought it was close to perfect, but it's going to take me a while before I stop thinking about BMO alone in that mountain. On top of that he's living in the spot where Finn got the Enchiridion; where the journey started. This shit is gonna mess me up for a while.
That's the point, the Adventure never ends. We just don't see all of it because we can't, that is just the way a world works, we don't see everything that can happen.
i mean yea they could very well make a whole new show off of everything they left but the sad thing about it is they most likely wont.
Tbh they were just improvising and making everything dark and sad instead of happy, cheerful and kid friendly

@@whisperhawkmoonspecialist9203 I get that, I really do, but it doesn't change the feelings of longingness and curiosity I have. I always wanted to fully experience Finn and Jake’s legacy but I'll never get that closure. The fact all we get to see is such a sombre aftermath, a world where BMO doesn't even remember Finn's name, leaves me feeling nihilistic about things. The only hope I have is that they moved on to better things, and left Ooo behind, but even that shred of hope is dashed when considering the unlikely implications: they would've left BMO behind. Ultimately your right though, the adventure doesn't end and the bleak world we see now might improve in future. But it still kinda hurts, ya know?
The world building of the last episodes is just a chefs kiss.
It's interesting to see how they put into perspective of how we build, live, strive, fight, and decay to the point that there's only faint whispers that explain the us.

And that scene where the Grable guy accidentally kills the bride in that space wedding is probably one of the things in the show that I laughed the loudest at and felt the worst about at the same time. I miss this show.

To comment on the fin and Jermaine statues, jermaine is a dog, and Finn is, as the show has told us many times, a human. It’s very possible that Jake’s alien blood caused him to outlive both of them. Maybe the statues are in memory of his brothers.
Remember that infinity train episode when Finn looks through the future orb thing and sees both him and Jake very old still wandering the train, I wonder if that implies he's not immoral? idk that's just the first thing that popped up reading this comment lol

Dexter Mosburg that was my first thought too, even the clothes seem similar to what marcy wore in the regular show- Blue and red seemed to be her color a lot of times.
After reading this and rewatching the intro, I'm like 70% sure that it's Marceline.
That's almost certainly Marceline, and the person in the cell is PB, whom Marceline is riding in to rescue from the Ice King. It all comes full circle.

The symbol on the telescope: “M.A.” MARCALINES INITIALS! Think about it. Dark blue jeans, and red boots, just like her initial appearance. Because at the end of “Come along with me” they’re clearly together and they’re both clearly beings we come to learn are able to age for longer periods of time due to Marci being thousands of years old, and bubblegum being hundreds when we initially learn of her age. The pink hands on the bars are PBs once again locked in the ice Kings dungeon, where Marci is looking for PB or a way to rescue her.

Well, Marcy is immortal so that's definitely her telescope cause she always signs her things with an M(maybe its an MA now because her relationship with her dad got better) but of course that doesn't guarantee that's Marceline since she's also known to sign things and then leave them(like the Treehouse and her cave).

Well since Bubblegum is basically immortal in which only the absence of gum makes her age down, meaning the more gum would be the only way she could age up, which she probably wouldn’t want to do, it’s probably Bubblegum behind the bars. The symbol on the telescope looks like an M and A for Marceline, and since she’s 100% immortal, she probably is looking for Bubblegum.

So now that Marcy and PB are dating, Marcy could be like how Finn was in the earlier seasons (rescuing princesses and stuff). So, we can predict that history repeats itself.

It's mentioned (in the storyboard, or by the showrunner iirc) that all four elementals are in the opening, that's the candy elemental, so if PB is alive, that's her in the cage.
I used to turn on my TV and find adventure time on and i got so excited that it distracted me about my parents while they were fighting. I will never forget this show.
Dude I actually cried when fern died. And when BMO was revealed as the "king of ooo." And when Simon came back. And when betty sacrificed herself. And when jake turned blue. And when finns arm got bit off. And when marceline and PB kissed. And when they re planted fern. And when I realized that shermy and beth were actually reincarnated versions of finn and jake (or at least finn) because finns to be forever reincarnated to fight evil. Ya know I'm just really good at crying.

I think you’re right about tombstones. I think that Jake ends up either living indefinitely or for an extended duration after embracing his alien side (which we saw in the end scenes), and as a result ends up outliving Finn and Jermaine, and builds either tombstones or monuments for his brothers.

Oh the irony. The AT crew seemingly foreshadows Jake's eventual death multiple times throughout the series, only for it to turn out that he's immortal (or lives for a ridiculously long amount of time). Man, the AT crew really loves to subvert our expectations--especially in the finale--and I freaking love it! I'm really going to miss this show's brilliant writing.

To be fair it's a kids show
It's a show about the feeling of nostalgia, everyone eventually leaves home and when they do return things have changed, and I feel like questions unanswered is part and parcel of missing out on what happened during that time. By ending far off in the future, it also covers the feeling of leaving home but being unable to return, even though we have returned to the same place. Home is gone, and it won't come back.

4:20 it says “M A” this is speculation too, but that’s probably marceline. It has (what looks like) her initials and the person wearing red boots, which is iconic of Marceline. I think the pink person in prison is Bubblegum and Marceline is searching for her. I did not come up with this theory on my own btw, I got it from a TH-cam who made an AT iceberg video (Raccoon Café)

I imagine that after the candy tree lost its foliage it couldn't feed Neddy anymore, so he died. The candy people can't live without Neddy so Bubblegum put them in suspended animation in the new guardian to keep them safe till she could find an alternate source of candy energy

It kinda makes me feel weird that there are no scenes in Ooo's future where there are no clouds in the sky. It also doesn't help that every cloud is light to dark gray.
Another thing that doesn't make me feel good are the broken and near demolished Finn and Jake Statues.
I do like how the walled city is inhabited by Jake's and Lady's descendants. It's good that their legacy will continue on.
The ruined candy city worries me a little, but I always remember the space candy empires.

here's my take: ice king imprisoned bonnie and the person with the backpack is marcy trying to rescue her.
marcy having simon's gear makes sense even if its not his ACTUAL gear and just something similar to it. the boots also seem like something marcy would wear.
bonnie being trapped makes sense because its almost like season 1 of at coming full circle in the future, and it doesnt mean shes been trapped there a long time either! for all we know it could just be the same type of capture she used to put up with and marcy is playing the role of finn.
at least thats what i like to think!

Steven Wolfhard said that the ice and candy elementals were already accounted for in the intro along with the new elementals X and O, meaning to me that first, Patience St.Pim’s ice tomb is the first thing we see in the intro, and those pink hands are in fact Bonnie.
also in the ice kingdom you can see patience’s giant ice prism she froze herself in after the elements series I think that the fire guy shooting at the slime dude is the fire elemental probably trying to capture the other elementals to do something good ol patience st pim style and the rune symbol on the scope the person in the ice kingdom was using is one Marceline used so it’s possible the person in the prison is PB and marceline is looking for her this would make more sense than if it was lolley since if lolley was kidnapped the candy kingdom could still March on and the prize ball guardian wouldn’t have to carry around the candy citizens but if PB was kidnapped the kingdom would probably just collapse also outside of Beth and shermys house there is a grave of some sort also there is an eye on the pup kingdom wall and it’s the same color as Jake either the wall represents jake or IS jake while jake isn’t immortal death did give jake pseudo immortality after magic mans trial though this does bring up the question on whatever happened to jake in obsidian since Finn has a tattoo of jake with forget me nots around him usually meaning that person died or went missing another option is that it’s a relative of jake or played an important role since the wall is a little off from jakes mustard yellow color also also also the crystal in the lumpy person can’t be lsps since her crystal is inside of bmos house so it’s another crystal
