Our female Vizsla already 9,5 months old! Amazing dog. After the first period she became so grown up and much more relaxed..
In terms of pulling on the leash, we had one private lesson with experienced trainer and the problem disappeared.
I wish I knew this trainer… this problem didn’t disappear with 3 lessons with a trainer for us so far…. Lol ours is 11 months now.
A Vizsla is the best. I have had dogs all of my life and my 5 year old Velcro Vizsla is the smartest and best companion I have ever had - including two wives! LOL

the love you get from a Vizsla is like no other. We have two girls (4 and 6 yrs) and they are so wonderful. Just be prepared for a lap dog, whether you want it or not. They get very sad if they can't be ON you when you're sitting down!
Our vizsla is also a huge scavenger out on walks, we've been working on the "leave it" command so much but sometimes her desire for whatever is there is much higher than for obedience 😅 But totally agree, just the best when it comes to affection and loveable dog

I have a Staffordshire terrier who was a handful when my 15 year old boxer was still alive. She was hyper,naughty,smart,and loved to instigate mischief. Now that shes the only dog its changed 100%. She is full of energy so i walk her at least 2 miles every morning, (it probably benefits me more than her) and i have a large yard for her to run. But without rex around she is so much more calm. The only negative i have with her is some times she gets aggressive with other dogs,and im not ok with that. So i dont take any chances,and keep a safe distance when we encounter other dogs. Rex on the other hand thought everything was his friend,and thats how hes been bitten by 2 snakes,sprayed by a skunk,and stung by more bees than i can remember.

my male viszla is 6 months old,
he is still very playful, often jumps, tugs at the leash, but it gets better from day to day, we are much in nature, he loves the water, ..., and he is since the first day when I picked him up, my favorite.

She's BEAUTIFUL! I have a 16 month old female Viszla. She's amazing. I also had the issue of pulling on walks but found if she gets a free run she's good on walking afterwards. We are book with a professional trainer ti help with the jumping when any of us come home. She loves all of us so much

You can train your dog to not pull while walking. Even in my suburban area, I walk my Vizsla without a leash altogether, heel walk.

She's a beautiful girl. My Vizsla is 30 months old. She is my companion everywhere I go. I live in the country so I don't use a leash when we take walks. She is able to explore as much as she wants but she always keeps me in her sight. I'm not allowed to stray, lol.
Just a few tips from someone who has had two large huskies for 14 years. Get rid of the harness. A dog will naturally pull into a harness. All you are doing is promoting the pulling and the dog will always win. We walked both of ours on a halti easy walker. It looks a little like a muzzle but isnt. After a few weeks we could walk the dogs on our little finger and now we walk them like any normal dog. Secondly, ditch the dog food. One of ours has suffered all her life to the point where we nearly lost her two years ago. We moved her onto a raw diet of tripe and oily fish (pre made) and within two days she was like a normal dog. Its a game changer and I would never feed any of my dogs on a kibble again

Given the energy of this dog I cannot get one. They’re the best but need a lot of exercise.
I"ve had my eye on getting a Viszla in the near near future and did my research on the breed and I am convince that this is the right breed for me as I want a velcro dog and one that would want to be with me. My husband and I have a 13 year old whippet and a 10 pound 6 year old Schnauzer but unfortunately they are not into me. My schnauzer decided she only loves my husband and my whippet is very independent :(
A family member of mine has a schnauzer and honestly there is no comparison with a vizsla for example the schnauzer barks a lot and my vizsla barks 10% the amount the schnauzer does. Also I feel like they are two completely different species with the vizsla being more human like than dog! The schnauzer is also more attached to one person and the vizsla in general friendlier with everyone much the same.

My vizsla is a great Velcro dog. High energy, loves everyone, great in the car and suffers from severe FOMO

Hello! I think a lot of people might say no as they are so high energy and needy. I would suggest to read a lot about them/watch TH-cam videos and be ready for a huge commitment of your time everyday for them. Depending on your lifestyle they may or may not be the right match. I have a video that goes more into this that might be worth watching 👍

When I walk my Vizsla.... I get so many girls coming up to me... he gets so much attention.
I want to adopt a Vizsla puppy. Do you have to be an athlete to have such a dog? Do they need a lot of physical activity and hard physical exercises?
You don't need to be an athlete as I certainly am not! Yes they do need a lot of exercise, my one needs at least two off leash runs for about 45 minutes a day but will get a lot more multiple days a week. If you don't have the time to dedicate to that I would suggest maybe looking at other breeds 👍
