Another great day out for you both. Well worth the visit. For me seeing the cars was nostalgic, I used to have an old MGBT. It seemed really serene as well. Thanks both
Great food, refreshing nature and homemade handmade goodness! I appreciate all the gems you share --- the main street finds and the ones off the radar too! 👍🏽
Hi Fred and Dana. Tom Yum Goong and it's variations are not tomato based rather they get their red color (when red colored, it can be clear too, tom yum nam sai) from Thai chilies and chili paste usually nam prik phao. Tomatoes being put in Tom Yum is a modern twist as are shrimp or prawns. Tom Yum Goong origins aren't clear but it is safe to bet it existed as far back as the Ayutthaya Kingdom. There approximately 10 variations of Tom Yum Goong throughout Thailand. Cheers! Allen
Thank you for that explanation. I think my American taste buds went straight to ' Tomato '. It is indeed a unique blend, I truly enjoyed it. Thanks for dropping by♥️.
25:00 Thailand has great places to visit ! I'm awed by how neat and clean they are. I'm guessing the small bowls may be for lifting the soup closer rather than having to bend ones head down to eat? I purchased some of those awesome made spoons at a nearby Asian market and they are perfect for enjoying soup. I could eat soup everyday!!
Small bowls are for hygiene purposes since most Thai are joint meals between friends and family. When you have a small bowl, your spoon will dip in only your bowl and not share your germs with others.
MG motor works, Triumph, Alpha Romeo, Land Rover, Austin Healy its a who's who of british motor cars and serious electrical problems 😂! Also shows the history of the British influence on Thailand and why they drive on the wrong side of the road! Cheers! Allen
I struggled through it. We have an air purifier in every room which helps, but it limited outdoor activities. We will head down to the beaches next year.
Fred, I enjoyed your video 😊. 👍🏻
Thanks Rob! I appreciate it!
That looked great! Thanks for the tip!
Thank you,
It was a lot of fun!!
Another amazing find in Chiang Mai ! Cheers

Thank you so much for identifying those vehicles. That was a lot of fun checking those out.

How did you handle the burning season?

@@farawayfred802 If you have time you should visit Nan province it’s beautiful there.
