Please call Ashwini Bhide she has been a gem and has made sure that despite all the odds Mumbai metro line 3 is completed. She is the only one who faced a political backlash in the process of defending what is stood up for as MD OF MMRCL. She is a inspiration for all infrastructure enthusiasts.

Koi bridge traffic Kam nahi karega. Ulte induced demand hoga. Agar parallel mein MTHL k saath metro hoti to better hota. Then traffic would have been split.

    Intelligent discussion 👍
Dr. Mukherjee's depth of knowledge and expertise will help the city of dreams, achieve its right place. From literally nothing happened in 60 years to suddenly loads of projects shaping the city, one needs to salute the Prime Minister Modi for his passion and commitment. I think Delhi has pocketed enough $$ from the financial capital during the last 6 decades that it's now time to pay back and spend it on the city's future.
You have passion, Rajan, tho you need to work on your skills.

  • @yashrajdeshmukh6759
    @yashrajdeshmukh6759 ปีที่แล้ว

Although It was a great Quality of content and really got to know a lot about how MMRDA has envisaged this development... some of the key practical aspects have been neglected in this discussion. The true commercial success of MTHL is dependent on a lot of factors...:
    1. The connecting projects associated which will drive maximum traffic usage. -e.g. as mentioned in the video currently only JNPT will be enjoying seamless connectivity after the commissioning of the bridge, rest all the statements of Mumbai to Pune in less than 3 hrs., Navi Mumbai Airport connectivity, Mumbai to Navi Mumbai in under 25 -30 mins is still a bit exaggeration, it depends on how fast cidco develops the remaining coastal roads for seamless airport connectivity, plus this airport construction also is moving at snail's pace, I know this since I am an ulwe residence. Similarly for we need better connectivity not just for South Mumbai but actually western Suburbs like Andheri, BKC and hence the worli -sewri connector is equally important but no one talks about that and it is also getting completed at a snail's pace. So until that happens people are still going to prefer the Vashi bridge. Many of the Connectors on the ulwe will not open to public for atleast five years from now, untill CIDCO doesn't make the required coastal roads, the construction of which hasn't even started.
    2. The most important factor for a daily commuter is an expense, The toll of this bridge is going to be somewhere around Rs 240 for the car which is way more than Rs 40 for Vashi Bridge even if we factor in the extra distance and fuel burnt for it. Lets also remember 2 wheelers are not allowed.
    3. Even if I want to commute from CSMT to lets say any place near Kharghar or Belapur the average time even during peak traffic is 1 hr 10mins. Now let's explore this MTHL route you come from CSMT TO SEWRI that's 20 mins on EEH, then 20-25mins for coming from Sewri to chirle junction, then from Chirle junction to Belapur is another 10-15 mins including a 1.5 min long signal at NMMC headquarters so that rounds up a travel time of 50- 60 mins which is again close to 1 hr. So people have to remember whenever someone makes an exaggerated statement of Mumbai to Navi Mumbai in 25 mins it's all a marketing gimmick. it's Sewri to Chirle in 20 -25 mins that's it. So the effective difference in time is just of 5 mins which comes at cost of 240 RUPEES...

    Q. Is it a freeway?
    A. No. It is Toll paid.
Q.2. How much is the Toll going to be?
    A. 4Wheeler Rs.100/- to 200/- one way (2 way= Rs. 200/- to Rs. 400/-)
    Q. How many people can afford such a toll?
    A. As per calculated figures it is about 70000 vehicles.
Even if it is considered this 70000 vehicles are all cars and in through these cars, if we count on & off, say 4 passenger inclding driver it comes around 280000 people.
Take into account 1% of Mumbai public, i.e., 2lac people and 10% of Navi Mumbai publc, i.e.. ,50000, it comes to around total of 330000 people up& down daily.
    Q. Why the Govt. Did not incorporate a Metro line alongwith this project to help the Local middle class who may not be even owning a cycle in this city.
It is a waste of public money on a fancy project because it is illogically conceptualised and executed project.
A mega project of this magnitude must have been inclusive of local middle class people and their needs also met.
Same is the case with Mumbai Coastal Road project also.

By reducing the travel distance & time automatically cost came down 70 % . That means meaning savings could be 1 Cr / day = 365 crores ,close to 40000 crin 10 years. Bbased on the total cost of project investment money can be recovered within in a stipulated time , later on it's profitable business. Instead of doing all the tests , why can't we use time tested materials ??? .
