Maxwell Dillon was once a simple lineman, a technician that repaired electrical cables. However, all that changed when a freak lightning strike spurred a mutagenic change in his body. This transformed him into a living electrical capacitor, capable of generating high voltage blasts from his fingertips and controlling electrical devices. While impressive, his new-found powers were limited by the amount of energy he could build up and store. As a result, Max stole electrical equipment from Stark Industries and incorporated it within a costume to become a super criminal that would often face off against Spider-Man. I love how people in comics dont get killed by all those catastrophes (electric shock, nuclear explotions, oisonous and hazardous agents for their body) but instead, they get super powers.

Maxwell Dillon used to be a lineman when he had a bad accident from electricity and he had the ability to control the electric with his powers and became of Spider-Man's most powerful villains known as Electro.
I felt so sorry for TASM2 electro because since he didn't have 8 lightning bolts sticking out his head I could feel sympathetic for him without feeling dumb.

after seeing this and Reading of Electro on TASM 2 i can really dig his character motivation in the film. The Green Goblin and Venom just wanted to kill Spider-Man, Doc Ock and Lizard wanted to make some freak experiment and Sandman was just after money. but Electro wants to make the whole world suffer for making him feel worthless. Thats thinkin true Evil!

Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was ok, I mean the cgi looked really cool and he seemed like perfect villain material, his origin made more sense, he was bitten by an electric eel while also getting shocked by them. Actually I think he's better off as a villain instead of a hero because come to think of it if he was ever betrayed as a hero in his own show he be too similar to his heroic counterpart Black Lighting.
Electro in TAS2 is by far the best origin of the character. His portrayel as a sad bullied schizophrenic who falls in love with spiderman is brilliant. Also they made hiz powers look amazing.

I can't wait to see Jamie Foxx's version, only one more day! Electro is a cool villain, not my favorite Spidey villain though, I always enjoyed Venom and Carnage the most. The way things are looking, we are supposed to get a solo Venom film soon, so hopefully Carnage is in that too.

Spiderman used to be a nice guy, nerdy and likeable, but in Spiderman 2, he was a cool, handsome and overall popular looking guy, who shit-talks to the police.
That movie was about *socially akward nerds = bad*, *handsome jerks = good*.

Why are people whining about Electro's appearance in AS2? I mean would you rather him have his original look from the Amazing Spider-Man comics with the lighting bolt mask? Then what? You'll have something else to complain about!
Agreed, that would look awful. The only way that could have even remotely worked would be if they were going for a brief joke villain and even then I would see that as a waste of time/
Mr. JH I liked in the Ultimate Spider-man cartoon when Electro was on top of a building and he created the shape of his old mask in electrical arcs. Kind of a nod towards the original version.
Well if they want to make it realistic make it like Spectacular Spiderman's Electro that could be realistic and he still has the look of the classic star headed Electro.
I think they could've done it where the suit is a dark shade of green while his head is yellow, or is heavily scarred with exposed teeth and eyes that pop out.
Nkosi Tao If you see Loki's look from the movies, his version is quite similar from the comics. His look in the comics is terrible, but they did a good job on him in the movies. They could of done a similar way with Electro in the movies.

***** You've got to remember that most of these villains were created when comics were still in their infancy and are easily examined through the art style and limited themes. Nowadays, with an overabundance of social issues and violent behavior, there's more than enough material to work with. Had he started frying people to a crisp and tearing people's heads off, you'd have no choice but to take him seriously even while dressed like that. Only difference is now you'd label him a murdering lunatic.

Let's be honest. Electro is almost an Omega level superhuman in control of electricity. Outside of being a fool (and false ideas about water weakening him.. Maybe rubber but definitely not water) Spider-Man should have no chance against him. He can turn into pure electricity and avoid any attack along with control anything that uses electricity. You'd need a telepath to even have a chance of making him stop (and don't forget, your brain uses electricity).
William Linkous That's right, he's quite powerful and much older than a lot of current superheroes we're familiar with. Sadly, reduced to a villain of the week while he's been around for nearly 50 years!

Dude great video but in the origin of electro on amazing spiderman two on his birthday he was all alone in oscorp and the power supply needed to be linked and instead he got shocked by electricity and fell in a pool of electric eels and got bitten more than ten times.
