Hello, very interesting topic. You're right , the body" speaks " It exists a body language especially when a person is suffering. We nurses are very attentive to the gestures and attitudes for ex blinking, sighing, crossing the arms, grimaces etc..I remerber a paraplegic patient ( tracheotomized) he couldn't speak more. One day when I was in his room he looked at me then looked at his private parties of his body ....he had pooped ...he looked at me and raised his shoulders ..that mean " I'm sorry "
That's a great point! I wonder what other professions need to rely on body language so heavily. It's amazing how much we can read from someone without words exchanged
