Hello there! Thought I’d upload this video a little ahead of schedule in case you're doing some Black Friday browsing… Suddenly all of these products are on sale! 😱🤩 A very happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating. I’m certainly thankful for you all! x
Happy birthday, Matilda! A lovely video, just as always. My heart melt when you pronounced perfectly « Sous le sable », I am french speaking so it is so beautiful to me when words are pronounced so perfectly by an English speaking person 😂 Sending all my love for your birthday! Bon anniversaire, belle Matilda! Bisous x ❤
I’m a new mom who needs a pared-down routine, so this video is timed perfectly! Thanks for the ideas for everyday makeup, as well as quick and easy ways to get glammed up!
I'm excited to see more everyday makeup routines! I love seeing how people's routines changes with the seasons and with their mood. And their ride or die products that always stay the same. My current fave lip product is Fenty's cookie jar gloss. It is very dark, but I only use a tiny little amount and sheer it out with my finger. It gives such a lovely autumn-wintery look.
Lovely to see more of the 5 minute face videos of yours. I recently picked up some of the Rare Beauty holiday sets and have been using one of their liquid highlighters as an eyeshadow. I'm refraining from any Black Friday shopping as i have a few things on a wish list for Christmas from my family. Hope you had a wonderful birthday Matilda
Thank you Xandra! Good for you skipping the sales 👏 What's made it to your Christmas wishlist? Those Rare liquid highlighter shades do work well as eyeshadows! x
@matildaonvideo The Laneige facial moisturizer, the Rare Beauty eyeliner and a couple shadow pencils, and bottle of YLS Black Opium perfume (my favorite perfume ever)
Happy birthday Matilda! Lovely routine, I'm very interested in the ysl mascara in brown too. This year my everyday routine has been fairly minimal, just a clear brow gel, concealer (nars), alternating between several cream blushes, my go to MAC one and done shadow (malt), kevyn aucoin mascara and a bit of bobbi brown lip crush in italian rose which i got because of your videos! 😂
you're the only youtube channel i subscribe to where i'm constantly checking to see if you've uploaded just in case the notification bell stopped working without my knowledge lol
belated happy birthday matilda! youve been such an inspiration in my attempts to accept my natural acne prone skin and embrace natural makeup hope your year ahead only gets better!

Happy birthday! Your videos are very inspiring. My current routine has been Typology’s glow drops mixed into my sunscreen, Lumene’s beauty serum, a hint of Westman Atelier’s biscuit or petal on the cheeks and the eyes, Ilia’s limitless mascara and a tinted lipbalm or lipoil. To take a look from day to night, I usually reapply mascara, a hint of kajal into the lash line and pat Chantecaille’s hematite into the lid.
I love the look of the Bobbi Brown lippie, I'm hoping to get some for my birthday. I use a lot of Clarins plant gold which is their blue orchid oil mixed with hazelnut lotion and comesout in 2 parts as my moisturizer. I also have a natio glide on eyeshadow stick in dusk, it is a gold/bronze colour, very lovely 😊
I hope you had a wonderful birthday! I am a lip gloss lover and Fenty glow never gets old in my opinion. I may actually have to pick up a Bobbi brown crushed lip color now because Italian rose looks stunning! Totally agree with what you said about palettes meaning more time to play. I usually use my highlighter or blush as eyeshadow in a time crunch, but when I actually have time to do an eyeshadow look I love being able to have fun with color and maybe even a little glitter if I’m feeling it. The holidays are the perfect time for it too. ☺️
Hey Matilda! ❤❤Loved this video, I look forward to an updated everyday makeup routine of yours every year. I'd love to watch a decade- wise makeup look for inspiration. For example, the 50s had that victory red lipstick, the 80s had more funky colors, the 90s had more dark brown tones. I'd love to get product recommendations from you in these categories! ❤❤
Thank you Vedika! 🥰 Ooh what a creative suggestion, I'll definitely have a think about this. It might be best left to the experts / makeup historians though - I always love seeing Lisa Eldridge's take on different eras! x
What a treat to see a Saturday video pop up from you Matilda 🥰 5-minute makeup has been my go-to as well especially since things have been heating up in Australia 🌞
Thank you Kat! Thought I'd bring the video forward by a couple of days given these products (filmed two weeks ago but I was sick and had to miss an upload) ended up lining up with so many great discounts 👏 Enjoy the rest of your weekend! x
I love the Merit flush balms, Fox in particular is a beautiful color that became a surprise favorite for me! The rose and terracotta tones work so beautifully together that it looks naturally sunkissed on my neutral skin, I really don’t have anything like it in my collection, thank you for the recommendation in your earlier videos!
Love love love ur videos ❤ wish u couldd make a makeup tutorial where u film how u apply these products on ur face as im myself not very good in makeup but lovvvee to learn about it
Thank you Shanzeh, that's very kind of you! 🥰 Unfortunately tutorials aren't my style but I'd love to recommend Amanda Z's channel who has a similar approach and lots of helpful tips. Makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes' channel is excellent too and Lisa Eldridge has been the master of tutorials for many years! x
Hello Matilda and thank you for another fabulous video. Would love to hear your thoughts on Mara sea silk lip balm as well as Gucci mascara. I love them both and would be so happy to hear your thoughts given how many products you have tried in addition to your very high standards! Happy Spring and blessings always to you!❤
@@matildaonvideo oh thank you so very much! Your recommendations have always been spot on so I’m thinking I may try the YSL mascara now. Blessings and love, as always!♥️🙏
Hi Matilda, Bourjois round pot eyeshadows are excellent for a quick makeup routine. These baked eyeshadows are really smooth, and stay on my eyelids without primer. Have you tried these? I picked up two holiday eyeshadow palettes from Dior and Chanel. Also a sparkling black nail polish and lipstick from Chanel's holiday collection.
@@matildaonvideo A trip to France, they have the Bourjois round pot eyeshadows. In the UK it's only available from eBay and Amazon and other online stockists. Bourjois cosmetics left the UK in 2019, and returned to the UK last year. Superdrug is the official stockist, but they don't stock the full range.
@matildaonvideo the same one, Louise! It's creamy and more subtle on paler, low contrast features like mine. Most blushes are way too pigmented or intense for me. Plus the brush is great!
I love this video! Always love seeing your 5 minute routine, since my everyday makeup routine is also 5 minutes. I bought Merit Fox last month and it's been in constant rotation for me-I had a feeling I would love it as much as you do. My current 5 minute routine: ABH Brow Wiz, Kosas clear brow gel, Merit Fox, By Terry Bronze Moon, KVD eyeliner, Tower 28 mascara, and Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color in Ruby. When I want to dial up a look, I either glam up the eyes or do a bold lip. By Terry Ombre Blackstar is the perfect base for any other eye shadow color I gravitate towards. One of my favorite ways to easily dial up a look is layering Victoria Beckham Eye Lustre in Mink on top of Bronze Moon. If I'm doing lips, I'll go for a bold red lip-Armani Lip Power in 400 or Sultan are my top picks at the moment.
Thank you Freya! So glad Fox has been a big hit for you too 😍👏 Love the sound of your routine! Thank you for the Mink and Bronze Moon combo inspiration x
Ooh interesting! I've had mine for a few months and luckily it's still going strong with SO much product still coming out on the wand. How quickly did yours dry out? 🤎 x
What would you say would be a good dupe for benefits foolproof brow, I’ve only just found out that’s it has been discontinued and I’m gutted. I’ve used it for years. Would you have a good recommendation at what else I could use instead?
This is a very random question but I’ve noticed you don’t use setting powders that much and I don’t think I’ve seen a setting spray in any of your videos. How do you keep your makeup from not wiping off?
Not random at all, don't worry Akira! You're very observant ☺️ I have normal to dry skin so I'm lucky that I don't need powder or setting spray on a daily basis. I wear very light layers of makeup and love a dewy finish, so I also don't mind if it doesn't look perfect all day! I do use powder to set spot concealing or my t-zone sometimes (I've shared my favourite BY TERRY Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder in many videos over the years, and often take the mini BY TERRY pressed powder with me when I travel). I only reach for setting spray for special occasions like going to a wedding when I want my makeup to last all day/night, and I really enjoy Charlotte Tilbury's Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray! x
@@matildaonvideo I also have dry skin as well! However my makeup is always matte and I never do a dewy face because I feel like it highlights all my acne scars and pores 😭
Thank you! MERIT ships to the US, Canada and UK at this stage. The brand is about to turn three in January so I hope world domination is on their to-do list in 2024! 🤞 x
Thank you! Unfortunately MERIT don't ship to Australia yet so the best option is to wait for a friend or family member to visit / come home from / mail you a package from the US, Canada or UK, or investigate a mail forwarding service ✈️ Hopefully they expand in 2024! x
Happy Birthday🎉! Didn't buy anything on black Friday yet . But I bought and enjoy my first cooler nude , Guerlain warm almond and i'm halfway through my new favorite lipliner, 19/99 neutra. I thought of replacing them but 20% off plus shipping to store it until this one ends doesn't seem so big of a deal.
Mathilda, how do you make your makeup last throughout the day? I love the glowy minimal look, but I swear my skin just absorbs it and/or breaks it up within two hours. I never see you talk about setting powder or anything.
Hi Rikke! To be honest, I don't mind if my makeup is 'living' with me throughout the day 😅 I have normal to dry skin so I'm lucky that I don't need powder or setting spray on a daily basis, but I also love a dewy finish so I don't mind if it doesn't look perfecta few hours later! When I used to work in an office, I'd just bring a couple of products in my bag to touch up if I was going out at the end of the day (usually concealer, blush and lipstick). I do sometimes use powder to set spot concealing or my t-zone (still love the BY TERRY Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder from previous years, and often pack the mini BY TERRY pressed powder when I travel). I really only reach for setting spray for special occasions like going to a wedding when I want my makeup to last all day/night, and enjoy Charlotte Tilbury's Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray for that x
Happy birthday Matilda 🥳🥳🥳 I hope you celebrated well!!! You might want to add the Shisheido Fino Premium Touch Hair Mask to your Christmas list 😉(leave it in for 15 minutes before washing it off - trust me you won't be disappointed by this product - afterwards I add in a drop of the Kérastase Elixir Ultime Hair Oil).
Love this video, and the look and colour theme. I must be the only person who didn't like YSL lash clash 😔. It dried up sooo quickly, it crumbled always and never did much for my lashes. It's both the most expensive mascara I ever bought and the only one I've ever thrown out before using it up. 😔
Thank you Vikkie! Oh no, someone else left a comment about their Lash Clash drying up quickly! Mine has been fine for the last few months, how soon did yours turn bad? Luckily I've been impressed by the lack of crumbling and smudging so far! 🤎 x
Thank you Louise, I really appreciate that! ☺️ I've been lucky to work with MERIT a couple of times (I have a larger audience in countries where they're available) so they've kindly sent some products in the past, but I've also used forwarding services and mailed orders to friends in the US and UK. Doing that again soon ahead of a trip to the US! x
Literally sitting here looking at carts with Jacaranda and the Skin Tint trying to decide what to do and this video pops up. Whatever kind of witchcraft this is, keep it coming.
Hi Georgie! MERIT have kindly sent me some products in the past (I have a larger audience in countries where they're available and have been lucky to work with the brand a couple of times) but I've also used forwarding services and mailed orders to friends in the US and UK. Doing that again soon ahead of a trip to the US! ✈️ Fingers crossed they'll keep expanding in 2024 x
skin tint specialist here 😁 i found the summer fridays tint to be quite sticky and didnt layer well over my skincare + sunscreen. I feel like I remember you wish listing the westman atelier tint? I would highly recommend it tbh, its the best tint I have found for me. It doesnt pill up on the skin and my skin always feels really nice when I take it off. Its also so glowy i always get comments about it!! Def pickup a sample if you can xx ps. how did you get merit in australia??
Thank you for working on the weekend by offering your skin tint consulting services Elle! 😉 Love the sound of the Westman tint, it's definitely still on my wishlist. I've been lucky to work with MERIT and have a big audience in countries where they're available so they've kindly sent some products in the past, but I've also used forwarding services and mailed orders to friends in the US and UK (doing that again soon!) x
Lots of people say they are cool toned who are actually neutral or olive toned because brands market neutral as cool because marketing as other than neutral just works at playing the human psychology. Neutral is a term some perceive as boring, and nobody wants to think of themselves as boring in any way. This is just basic human psychology. You can see the warmth in the inside of her arms. I'm with you as a legit cool skinned woman. I actually have partial amelanism and do not produce melanin like I'm supposed to but I'm also not albino which is a completely other set of genetics. All I primarily produce is what is called pnuemelanin which is you bluey pinky red tones.
Merit lipsticks were very disappointing for me-total overhype. It is the first lip product that I’ve ever used that actually emphasizes my lip lines aside from some cheap liquid lipsticks maybe. I have it in tiger and I can see every lip line on my lips very weird product. To top it off, whenever I eat something it wears off completely no staying power whatsoever. And as for hydration- my Sisley lipstick is much more moisturizing. For sheer lip colour I recommend Dior lip glow. Putting it felt like heaven after Tiger. For amazing colours Lisa Eldridge or Jimmy Choo or Givenchy or anything but Merit really! Same with the blush. I’ve bought it again believing the hype but it’s nothing like say Stila (amazing staying power and Lilium is a stunning colour) or rare beauty (good color payoff)The colour is weak and it wears of again really easily. Granted I have oily skin but Stila stays on. This brand is completely style over substance for me.
Oh no, sorry to hear MERIT wasn't a good fit for you! Their textures are certainly very creamy / balmy / dewy in general - perfect for my normal to dry skin, but I'm sure it's a different story for oily skin. I love the other sheer lip products you mentioned too but really love MERIT's as well! Those Stila and Rare Beauty blush formulas have better textures for lasting power so they're good choices 😍 x
'So nice to see someone recommending a brown mascara! The blacks just look hard, fake, and mean girl on me! They just don't look right on some of us so Thank-You!
You’re so welcome! This one might have just kickstarted a big brown mascara moment for me, I love the look so much 🤎 Any brown mascaras you’d recommend if you’ve tried them before? x
Thank you Liliana! 🥰 Victoria Beckham Beauty ships to Australia! Still 25% off sitewide on their website at the moment too. MERIT doesn't ship here yet so I've had to send orders to friends in the US or UK, or the brand has been very kind and mailed products to me as I have a large audience where they're available. Hoping they'll expand next year! x

Thank you Martha! Absolutely, it's from The Daily Edited - just added the details to the description box under 'What I'm Wearing' 🖤 x
@@matildaonvideo thank you so much!
Happy birthday from a fellow November baby!
Thank you Ella! Hope you had a lovely day too (or have if it's still to come!) 🤩 x
Thank you Anais! Ooh that hair product does sound luxurious 😍 x
@@matildaonvideo Small correction on my part 😅 drop needs to be pump.
Yay!!!! Notification squad!! This is an exciting video 🥰
Thank you so much Jade! 🤩 x
My pleasure! As usual I loved it and belated happy birthday!!
Hi Matilda, love your channel and have been watching for years! Just wondering, how do you get Merit products if living in Aus? ❤
Very happy to hear about this accidental sorcery Katharine! 😂🪄 x
hi Matilda! how do you get merit beauty in australia, im desperate to try but they don't ship here? xxx
Apologies for this ridiculously late reply Georgie, but do I have news for you - MERIT starts shipping to Australia from September 18! 🇦🇺💙 x
skin tint specialist here 😁
i found the summer fridays tint to be quite sticky and didnt layer well over my skincare + sunscreen.
If you are cool toned, WHY do you like such warm blushes?? I'm very cool toned and fair and look sick in those colors haha
Hi Matilda❤️
Hi Nitisha! 😄👋 x
❤❤❤
Thank you for watching! 😄 x
Happy birthday! Now i'm wonderingg if you're a sag or scorpio
Thank you! Scorpio 😉 My birthday was a few weeks ago! x
'So nice to see someone recommending a brown mascara! The blacks just look hard, fake, and mean girl on me! They just don't look right on some of us so Thank-You!
You’re so welcome! This one might have just kickstarted a big brown mascara moment for me, I love the look so much 🤎 Any brown mascaras you’d recommend if you’ve tried them before? x
So relaxing video, you are my role model for making TH-cam videos ☺
Wow, thank you! What a lovely thing to say ❤️ x
All of Us Strangers was such a great movie 🥹🥹🥹
So beautiful but SO sad 😭 x
I think my husband bought some of my Christmas list today at Sephora, but I might need to add a couple of things now 😅🩷
Your husband is setting the bar very high with that Sephora shopping! I'm impressed 😄👏 x
@@matildaonvideo He is a great guy I’m very lucky. I got him some excellent gifts as well. 😊
Hi Matilda and HBD!!! 🎉
Where in Australia did you get Merit and Victoria Beckham brands? I believe they don’t ship to the down under land. 🥲
Hoping they'll expand next year! x
Dropping by again to share the great news, Liliana - MERIT starts shipping to Australia from September 18! 🇦🇺💙 x
