Great song, great album! Can’t understand the haters.
I love both eras. Newpeth sounds like old school 70's prog rock and less 90's death prog. Still damn good songwriting.
I recomment you their newest record.
One does not simply exit the rabbit hole.
This album had a few that were okay.... Of Opeth's new style, I like the In Cauda Venenum album best, but I do really miss the old Opeth. Not that there's anything wrong with clean vocals or jazziness, but that's not all that changed. Damnation and Heritage were all clean and I liked them a lot. The new stuff (from Pale Communion on) is just missing... something.
Maybe it's the growls, but I think it's really the contrast, the transitions, the themes, the hmmm... I don't even know. Like, it's good... but the old stuff was just better.

There is only Newpeth. Growling is distracting and horrible. ;D

Love Opeth.. even 99.9% of their new stuff, but this one... not so much. However, Mikael's vocals sound amazing.

I don't dislike it, it's just not top 10 of the new stuff for me.
@@floridabelle ha nothing wrong with that, overall I'm mainly a fan of the studio version of most songs, I prefer live .....when I'm there in person

Killer riff.
So deadly!
OPETH is one of the greatest bands ever, but this song is among their worst & definitely the worst on the album with the same name. Even the whole album is one of their worst.
Yeah Sorceress is probably my least favorite Opeth album, mostly because of the mix. But this live version is very nice and more powerful than the studio one.
Maaaaan I prefer Opeth as a heavy band but there's a ton of cool stuff in their prog rock stuff
I preferred Pale Communion even less.
