What an incredible fish and what an incredible fisherman, giving up a world fishing record and allowing the fish to be tagged and released. Classy!!

@@umaraaa Repent of your sins and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ that has died for sins and rose from the tomb on the third day and let the Holy Spirit within you, and you shall be saved.
4:44 gives you an idea how big this fish is... WOW!

@Cesar Blanco size queen 👸
Thx
4:44
444 Marlin as also a great rifle..
What a selfless thing to do: Give up the acclaim and adulation of a world record Marlin for the good of conservation. The planet needs more people like Neil in it. Much respect for both Guy Harvey and Neil Patrick.
4:43 SWEET JESUS
This video is from 2007, and it wasn't until 2010 that Greenpeace added marlin to their red list.
Harvey & his team are biologists working to help understand the behavior of marlin in this case, and while I question their methods (diving to attach a second line?), their intentions are good.
Hopefully, this video and others like it will help raise awareness about the need to preserve our ocean resources.
Omg 10 years ago😱
People stop complaining about fishing. They aren't trying to make it go extinct. The people that pursue wild animals know the animals best, and care the most. For we are the first to notice anomalies, and notify the experts. Basicly don't talk if you don't know what your talking about.
Yeah we let them go we don’t kill them
What? Remember who your audience is, just a broad swath of people, some who think catch and eat, others say catch and release. This occasion better so they could see how this amazing fish lives the rest of the year.
You're talking to libtards they don't understand common sense
@Unknown Freedom yeah. Fishermen and fishing are alot more than throwing a bait overboard. Fishermen study the habits may they be feeding or breeding or both, they study territory and many other aspects as well. The same can be said for hunting. Not still hunting where you're pretty much an ambush predator, but other forms of hunting which include tracking ad well as knowing the potential actions and habits of the animal being hunted.
The most impressive part is that guy was using 50lb test line on a +1000lb fish.
Sip on that one.
Is that from skill or luck?
@@hshsnshhs7382 both lmao. You have to be really good at playing the fish out while also keeping the tension on and not getting completely spooled. If you try to horse it in or if it shakes it’s head a little to quickly the line will snap like nothing
@@morepecsmoresecs8082 I think I understand, so as the fish swims away from you, you would let off line instead of having it stiff. I don't fish but this is interesting. 🤟
Marlin, Istiophoridae, is a member of a group of marine fish known as "billfish", and is closely linked to the freshwater trout. A marlin has an elongated body, a spear-like snout, and a long rigid dorsal fin, which extends forwards to form a crest. Its common name is thought to derive from its notional resemblance to a sailor's marlinspike
Even more so than their close relatives the scombrids, marlin are known to be incredibly fast swimmers, reaching speeds of 110 kilometres per hour (68 mph).
damn. that last shot was great!!
crazy guy jumps in there i guess thats what you call a man of action

The larger species include the Atlantic blue marlin, Makaira nigricans, which have been reliably recorded in excess of 2 metres (6.6 ft) in length and 120 kilograms (260 lb) in weight, and the Black marlin, Makaira indica, which have been reliably recorded in excess of 5 metres (16 ft) in length and 670 kilograms (1,500 lb) in weight. They are popular sporting fish in certain tropical areas.
that last jump was spectacular
God that thing was huge!
I thought the guy was generous letting a possible world record go.
That fish is massive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WAUW WHAT A FISH GREAT JUMP AT THE END
It's a tough fish, if it can survive the open ocean getting caught once in a while wont bother it too much.
Some people say that fish don’t feel pain like humans. I don’t know how they claim this to be true. What is true is that the fish is obviously very distressed and even if caught and released it still might not survive.
THAT IS A HUGE EFFING FISH! D:
Scarier than any of the ghost snaps I seen on here!!!
wish someday i could go fishing and catch such a big and beautiful marlin like that
its called a SWORDFIIIIIIISSSSSHHHHH.
holy shit!! that's so huge Black Marlin
Holy shit. I didn't realize how big it actually was until it lept right beside the boat. That's amazing.

That"s totally awesome, Fish on!!
good thing the camera could swim that
MAN that thing is huge! AAUUUGH! Wow.
This was a promo for the new series Monster Fish. The use of a digital cam corder made it appear larger than normal and that is why they did not land it. I have dove down to retrieve fish that snapped my line many a times at a local fishin' pond.and it has monster Muskie in it!
That thing was HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE!!!!!!!!!!
Greatest ending iv'e seen in a long time
Wow look at the fish leap @ 4:45
Great to watch and they were being selfless for letting it go. Thanks
Pause at 0:17 he looks like Sylvester stalone
good work that is huge.......... and thanks to let it go back to the sea rather than killing it!
the last leap was amazing
i did not think it was that big until it jumped out of the water! omg
In the end it was DANGER.

Let's all calm down and see it as it is
That fish wouldn't show no mercy to any of you guys if you got in its way on a hungry day by accident. I'm sticking to fish burgers and ice cream on the beach.

wow 4.46..that was HUGE
i will see this video after 13 years ago 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
holy crap that fish is fricken big
HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!
This is how it should be, instead of catching the fish so that it dies and can be weighed as a trophy and possibly stuffed, it should be tagged so that more can be learned about it and its kind, and so that it can continue to swim this planet's oceans.
Oh yeah, well I caught a fish while on Mars. Now what. Oh!
HOLY CRAP IT IS HUGE!!!
Wow, that fish is huge!!!!!!!!
Guau, es enorme!!

4:46
It's good to know if that's true. Thanks, BEKrustie.
That 'fish' looks like a shark!
"most human beings cant swim at that speed"...does he want to say there are a few that can swim at 40 miles an hour?? :))
Probably meant run.
