- You never know until you try! A small red metal barn, open only on weekends, might not scream "treasure trove," but Lockwood Antiques near Oneida, New York, proves that the best finds often come from the most unexpected places.
Join us as we shop alongside Sandi from @myflippingvanlife4437 and Jocelyn from @CrazyLampLady in this roadside shop overflowing with authentic antiques and vintage collectibles. From cranberry glass table lamps and ornate parlor lamps to unique advertising pieces, the shop is packed with fascinating items. I snagged a Philco TV chart while leaving a rare radio tower clock for a lucky New Yorker. The eclectic mix spans decades, featuring everything from 1960s spaghetti lamps to 1860s prints of mischievous children. There's so much to explore, even if you have to navigate narrow aisles to find the treasures!
My first pick came from the rows of rustic outdoor items behind the fence, where I found big, cool primitives, a sleigh, and a horse cart. But the real gems were inside the shop: an antique Moss Rose syrup pitcher, a golden 1950s horse clock, colorful glass, and a Wedgwood lighter for just $5 quickly made their way to my pile. We even scored a 1930s Gruen Watch ad from behind the counter before it was priced-a perfect find for a timepiece collector.
Shopping with fellow TH-camrs adds extra fun, as we share our finds and learn from each other's eye for value. Jocelyn and Sandi split a collection of signed art glass novelties, Sandi found a rare Fenton dancing bears jack-in-the-pulpit vase, and I added a pretty Venetian glass apple in deep pink that everyone else missed. There's truly something for everyone in this packed little shop!
Between us, we spent a few thousand dollars at this fantastic store, proving that individually owned shops are some of the best places to discover amazing antique and vintage items.

@@nemophilistnay a lot of wow factor in this store!
Was so fun to watch being I grew up in Finger Lakes region in NY
@@queentatonka beautiful places there
Thank you for sharing!! Sorry about all the comments; great variety there!
@@nemophilistnay no, don’t be, I’m glad you’re into it enough to respond!!
@@TheAntiqueNomad always! Just sometimes too busy packing orders to respond, or my devices won’t sync, or I have a 3-🐈⬛ blanket.
Hi George, the mermaid candlesticks were beautiful and different. The bakelite pen holder was nice, too. I think this shop is the best I've seen, as far as nice finds at very nice prices....in ages. I might have nightmares being asdigned to dust inventory! 😉
@@surpriseitsus9622 I agree it has a really good variety and large age range too
George, what an amazing place.
Id have to spend an entire weekend there.
I love the 2 pc inkwell set you bought. There were so many other treasures there that I would want to buy but can't. No more room or money....
@@SisterShirley it’s free to look though so I’ll keep showing more!
Your jokes always crack me up! Sometimes they're so subtle they almost pass my by, but usually I catch up about a minute later and start laughing. My kind of humor!! Thanks.
@@playdohsrepublic3562 I like dry humor I’m glad you appreciate it too
Wow, that place had really nice stuff
I thought it was a bit of a diamond in the rough!
I love shops like this. They have a lot of hidden treasures
Didn't know this place was so close to me. Good video thank you
@@markandrews2942 worth a visit!
I've been here! ...and now I may head back again this weekend 😅
A true digging shop, love it!!! I could have some fun in there looking at all the Fenton of which they have quite a bit of. Thanks for sharing and you have a great day
@@cecoya true, we usually feature Fenton now but there were so many great older pieces that distracted us!
I had a hanging multicolor spaghetti globe light as a girl, but have never been able to find one again. I loved that lamp.
They're so cool!
I really look forward to Mon and Weds George with you all. Not always able to attend, but TY for these reminders. Hope all well out with you
I'm always so glad to see you in the chat, your sense of humor and relaxed attitude help give us atmosphere!
@@TheAntiqueNomad a big smile back
Thank you,!! Great video -as always!!! Take care!!
Thank you too!
Love the moss rose...
I have long been drawn to it as well
6:32 stop it, George! So handsome! 😁🤗 7:46 I love that you quote that correctly. Some versions say “all evil,” which is a big difference from “all kinds of evil.” The first translation promoted a lot of chosen poverty in the mid century at least, which was problematic. 8:51 that set is so beautiful! Totally would have gotten it if I hadn’t just found my dream inkwell.
@@nemophilistnay I’m glad you got the subtlety of the difference in the actual quote from the widely misquoted version, I thought that was an important distinction
@@nemophilistnay so happy you got the inkwell you wanted!
@@TheAntiqueNomad you’re so sweet!!! I hope you got the top hat, shoes, and glass cane. All set for a dress-up party!
The Ronald Mc Donald statue looks mesmerized.
All that sugar will do that to you lol
Reminds me of a kids meal😂
Do a 2 part George there is lots to see love this place
I'll have to go back!
Very interesting 🇨🇦🐕
Love looking at the unique pieces if glass artwork. I also really liked that kitchen cabinet!
Me too! I wish I'd gotten the cabinet in retrospect.
Used to bounce on metal yellow duckling on big spring. Great memories of my grandfather walking me to the playground.
Cute! I think it was a horse in our park
Another wonderful shopping trip!
I found more cool stuff than I expected!
George - you were in my neck of the woods in Upstate New York! This is my favorite kind of picking - disheveled, dusty, and basically a hot mess but the treasures you find are fantastic!
I can’t wait to get back there! Upstate New York seems to be a treasure trove
Good evening, George. There were several things outside that interested me. I'd like to browse a place like that. I liked that _Moss Rose_ syrup pitcher. Ink wells have always interested me. I remember when they were highly sought after and collected. Loved the lady statue! There were a lot of kerosene lamps there that caught my eye. The cranberry Victorian one was fantastic. So nice to see one that hasn't been monkied with and converted to electric. I have one of the _Delaware_ sets. That kitchen cupboard was nice and priced extremely reasonably. There were a couple pond boats that caught my eye. I wish I had space for a collection of those. That was a phenomenal place, with tons of interesting items! Thanks for taking us along!
I'm glad I got the Moss Rose, I like old syrups and that pattern for some reason as well. Ink wells get my attention too, I also was pleased to find one I could afford. Wasn't that cranberry lamp amazing? I haven't seen one with that depth of color in ages. Delaware catches my eye because I have relatives there, I think the flower is some form of phlox that grows there. I should've found a way to fit that cupboard in somewhere for $75! Of course, right after I left it, I sold a piece in a mall and then needed something like it to fill the space...oh well. I always liked pond boats but they are space hogs, had one as a kid but the keel was too deep for our shallow pond and we never had a place to display it. I really enjoyed this place because there were true antiques as well as vintage, glad you did too!
@@TheAntiqueNomad I like old syrup pitchers, too. If I hadn't started collecting the beverage sets, I would've likely collected them. That was a very good price on the ink well. I bet that cranberry lamp would be beautiful lit by a flame. Isn't that the way it always happens, like with the cupboard - find a great piece for a really good price, not get it, then find out you should've. That's happened to me more times than I'd care to think about. At $75.00, that was a really good price for the cupboard. I would've likely gone back after it. Yeah, the pond boats are space hogs, and so are my beverage sets. I have a few pond boats and would like more, but I've nowhere to put them. That was a super-cool place to shop and browse!
So many wonderful items❤❤❤ loved the pink lamp
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
super
yea nice shop and prices
The Czech vase with the black rim is called Tango. 1920’s.😊
@@samuelkissee3457 yes that’s right, I knew that once upon a time and had forgotten
CASA DEL REGALO BORTOLI VENEZIA It is one of the most well-known labels for that shop. But this is also a nice shop, very assorted. That tobacco humidor was very nice, I think the tobacco collection still has a great following.
The "basic" horse carriage @ 1.56 is a trotters sulky and is where the driver sits, in trotting horse races. Trotting racing started in U.S.A. and is now in a number of countries. It started here in New Zealand in late 1890's.
@@lauriesquires5924 I didn’t realize it started in New Zealand! Thank you and I’m very lucky to have viewers from all over to help enlighten each other
I always got a kick out of George Burns. He could really pull off the straight face an dry humor. My Grandfather was that way, an he never cracked a smile. One of those who could pay someone a complement, but when it sunk in it was a not quite. :~)
This sounds like a place I would really like to shop in! But, too far away. I'm happy you found some good buys there tho.
Hi there! There's a lot of good places, but this one was so much more than it seemed from the outside
They should be open 7 days a week . With all that beautiful merchandise, it would take me 7 days to go through it lol . Fascinating shop. Is Oneida NY, the place where the cutlery was made , and some dishes by that brand name ?
George Burns was a loveable gentleman. I used to like listening to his old radio show with Gracie .
That’s right, Oneida silversmiths were based there and eventually merged with nearby Buffalo China
So much to see there. Bet you all had a blast ! My curiosity is peaked... What is the tiny cage for ??? ( frame 13:52 , to the top right of screen )
When you mentioned the Iron Fireman item, my mind went retro! I lived across the street from Iron Fireman in Cleveland, OH when I was a child. It seemed odd to me that a huge manufacturing facility was smack dab in a residential neighborhood. Now I am curious, and will research, if the plant still exists with a different brand.
@@karenkay8928 let me know I’m curious as well
I wanna find an expected treasure trove by George
By George now ?
That miser piggy bank at 7:45 looks just like Elon Musk. What a coincidence.
@@headoverheels88 lol he does have a porcene nostril flare
Ok see ya in twenty hours
Now now much longer Mr Higby
A while back I picked up a couple local interest 8x10 photos - something like $12 each. Got them home and after removing them from junk plastic frames I see the supposed 75 year old photos are a fresh print from a home printer. Neither tags had any note of being reproduction. And they came from a booth that was filled with legitmate antiques. Why on Earth people sell their soul (and credibility) like this is beyond me. It's actually really just sad.
@@randolm7698 that’s frustrating but I’m betting the booth owner bought them on the secondary market and never opened them to check. You might see if the mall will take them back if they were misrepresented

Sir~ this audio is remarkably uncomfortable. I am a big fan of your work and thought you would want to know.
I am so sorry about the audio, we’re working with a new vocal processor and there were two sections where the audio doubled. I’m learning and will try to prevent such in the future
