As a native St Louison, I immediately noticed the poster of a former Cardinal whose name shall not be spoken. I would purchase that poster just so I could put it through the shredder to make cat litter. (No, I’m not a bit bitter) 😊
Somewhere here, I have some 1970s, men's patterns, and they have the bellbottom pants in them. I liked the $45.00 table. That wood level would've likely had tom come with me. That sort of item interests me. I have a pretty fair collection of old Biltmore Estate milk bottles. I have one milk bottle my grandmother gave me, in the 1970s, and I'd like to find pint and half-pint bottles to match it. The one she gave me is a Golden Guernsey, Mt. Meadow Dairy, Gadsden, AL quart bottle. I've hung onto it for 50+ years. I liked the chippy look on the enamelware Westinghouse ashtray. That looked like a good sale, but it was likely priced more for collectors...which I am 😁
Bellbottoms! We were still wearing those in the early 80s where I lived, we were behind the times plus it was a Navy town. In the winter when it rained, they weighed 5 extra pounds by the time you got home from soaking up everything. The $45 table was nice with the graining, and I thought about the wood level but have several already. I had an old milk bottle I found as a kid and wish now that I kept it, it stayed with me awhile though. I'm a collector too, the prices were mostly fine at this sale but I was feeling picky that day!
@@TheAntiqueNomadShorts I remember wearing bellbottoms with legs so big that I kicked them when I walked 😂 Stacked-heel shoes, bellbottoms and short-sleeved turtlenecks 😬🤣 I keep looking for a pint and a half-pint bottle to go with the Mt. Meadow Dairy one, but I've never even seen another quart one.
00:27 The patterns were 1977-1978ish for sure. For one, I wore those and another my grandmother sewed them for my cousins. 05:41 They called it "campaign hardware" in the UK and probably here too. It was recessed because the originals had to be picked up and carried, and no one wanted their drawer handles getting snagged on whatever and spilling everything or damaging the furniture. The drawers had locks and keys to keep them shut while moving. I found one real piece of it once in a ReStore. I have a strict medical weight limit so couldn't do a darned thing with it but drool, but told the manager what it was. (hand cut dovetails, side carrying handles, individual drawer latches and it came apart into two separate pieces. ) They had $250 on it, and it was gone by the time I went back two days later. If the prices are anything like what I saw on line, some dealer had it in ten seconds flat unless it went to auction.
Yes, campaign hardware, that is the right term! That sounds like it was a great piece, but I also understand why moving heavy objects is worth thinking twice about as time goes on. I think I remember those patterns from that era, we were a ready to wear family with a mom who didn't sew, but I saw girls in Jr. High wearing similar
Really enjoy your videos, no matter the day or length. Those poor Polyesters! RIP. 😅 It looks like you're close to home now? Are you gonna be there for the winter or headed to Florida? I'll be jealous of you when you're down there. We got our first snow today. It melted pretty quick, tho. Be safe in your travels, buddy! See ya later!
I work for a house clean out company in I avoid anything sports memorabilia sign because there's so many fake signatures out there😢 I used to watch the FBI Files I watched the one where one of the biggest Sports authenticators was just signing the signatures. They did literally thousands and thousands of them they won't even account for how many they did.😢 to this day there are thousands of them out there that people think are real and their collections being resold to each other😢 I wish I could remember the name of the company. Well that's my two cents George thanks for another great one have a great day🎉
Shame about the Tupperware Jello mould . I find those easy to sell . I get between 20-25 per unit . I seem to find them quite often . If they have the instructions with them I get 25. There was some fun stuff there .
@@TheAntiqueNomadShorts to be honest. I’ve never been up that far north but any video about what potentially is there to see is always a great opportunity. Here, in the. If bad city…there is always a chance to find something good.
