- The Mustang GT California Special has a lot of history behind and horsepower behind it. The California Special dates all the way back to 1968 & under the hood is a 5.0L V8 that pumps out 460HP. This Mustang GT/CS is a muscle car that you can have your top down fun with. There are many styling touches that are unique to the California Special. You know one of the most exciting things that I like about car reviews is the actual test drive. I like to see the car being driven from the outside. Your reviews would be even better if you had a crew filming you while you are driving.

@@MridulJK when I got mine it had 5 miles on it, I was the 1st and last person to test drive it lol, now it has almost 500miles. Didn't get to drive a lot yet!

I bought the 2020 GT/CS. Black on Black on Black Convertible. 5.0 Coyote V8. I love the Car. First thing - hood struts and removed the prop rod!

I got my 2020 GT/CS convertible in Sep 2019 (velocity blue). I've been stuck in NJ for most of that time, but find any opportunity to drive it. I hope you're experiencing the same joy.
My favorite, Your Tube and MUSTANG!
Always put the back, rear windows up first, then hit auto up on the door windows. Also, Calif. Special option is $2000 and not available with all colors nor with the Performance Package Level 2.

I’ve been researching the Mustang lineup and I really like the CS but is not a common model in the US I wonder With Covid if it’s easy or hard to order one from the dealership and also what is the difference between the Gt Premier and the CS other than aesthetics ?? Had my 12 GT/CS vert, since 2013, car has never had 1 problem. Other than a battery.

my exact car, but it is a coupe not a convertible, has the 10 speed. 23 years old and blessed to own this car. My forth mustang I have owned.

Prop rod never loses gas pressure like struts do 👍.

Almost correct on the origin of the California Special Mustang. Ford's Southern California Region Sales Manager Lee Grey went to Lee Iaccoca a Ford Executive and asked for the car. You're correct on the reason for the GT/CS, California as a state was home to twenty percent of Mustangs built and sold.
As much as I love a good Mustang, I'd go Hard-Top convertible Miata 😂👍

I am in the dilemma of considering if i should go with a 2019 GT convertible or Coupe. I am staying in UAE. My concerns are the 8months of heat + dust. If the rag top is cleanable, will it fade and all. It would be great if u could give me some suggestion with respect to it.

I would stick with a coupe. I think in the long run you will be happier!
but can you get the magneride with the Cali package? Ford needs to give the customer more flexibility with the options.
I don’t like the California special 👎 I got the 2019 regular gt oxford white everything is stock and all the vents are functional!!! 😃 I made sure of that I can’t believe the 2 front vents are non functional!!😏 why would they do that that’s stupid !! Great 👍🏻 review as usual Joe !!

There’s no way to make the stitching red on the center stack (7:30) because that is molded plastic. There is no stitching to change color.
So much for the ford's recommended 1000-mile easy engine break-ins.

My GT/CS came with the old cluster and less red stitching then this one (i checked out your other video too (2019 hard top gt/cs) and it had the same....but mine cost a lot less... MSRP 47 and change and I picked it up for 36 and change... still I wonder why I got less....that and I don't have a subwoofer....gonna have to add one.

It's a fixed antenna and it's only on the convertibles.

No, it would just be way louder. The GT350 has a totally different crankshaft and that is what gives it the sound.
Is a used mustang ecoboost a good first car for a teenager?
As long as they can respect it.....yes.
I’d say so, but keep in mind, they’re just as fast as a GT from 10 years ago, definitely not slow. They just need to be careful and drive the car carefully.
Insurance might still be high if the insurance company considers it a sports car
