Similar to what I built for my 21 JLUR

That is one of my favorite things about the Wrangler. So many owners coming up with ways to make their jeeps unique and more functional for their needs. I love it!! Thanks for your comment.

Thank you for this, have been searching for ways to build something flat for the back of our 4XE. I mainly want to build it for our dogs who go with us quite often so they can have more flat space to move around. Hopefully this is a project I can do pretty easily. Do you have the specs written down somewhere? If not I will just zoom in on the video, that you in advance.

I am glad you like it. I appreciate your comment. I don’t have it written down. The easiest way to share the dimensions was to put it in the video. I could send you photos tho that you could print. I am coming out with another video where I build a drawer to fit under the deck in order to add more functional storage. If that is something you are interested in then maybe wait for that. There is one adjustment to the original deck that will make the drawer work better. Thanks again.

Great build! I've been considering building something similar in my wife's JKU. Not sure if I missed it, but did you attach the new platform to the existing deck at all to keep it from moving up and down?

Thanks for your input. I did not attach the deck in any way. When I cut out the top I made sure to fit it pretty snug to the rear area and then when I put the carpet on I stretched the carpet around the sides so if fits fairly tight to the sides of the jeep. It does not move at all and with the carpet around the sides it doesn’t wiggle or rub at all. I have seen ones built that don’t contour around the sides or woofer etc but I’d worry about it shifting or rubbing. By doing an exact fit it works almost perfectly.
