- A majority of Kenyans have rejected the proposals to raise more taxes through the road maintenance levy. The new tax measure being proposed by roads and transport ministry seeks to increase the levy from the current 18 shillings to 25 shillings per litre of petrol and diesel. While acknowledging the public uproar, the Ministry of Roads Cabinet Secretary hinted to withdrawing the proposal in concurrence with the public mood

Murkomen is a failure,, how can you confront Kenyans for asking for roads.. As a leader you cannot tell people that you will not have roads because there is no levy.. Wise leaders will say, road development will delay because we don't have enough money as of now .. William Ruto should start by firing Murkomen. 1:26 Mbagathi road was built using concrete technology that’s known to be very durable with very little to no maintenance required! All our major highways and city roads should use concrete technology!

Last year January in juja place called sisal a contractor was given the contract to construct the drainage system because it used to flood even with a small rainfall... He dug tumtaro twingine funny funny which took him a whole year and a few months... When the previous rain started, we used to pass through people's farms because of how flooded that road was.... A whole year and a kamtaro is the only thing he could come up with, and you can imagine the amount of money allocated to that road....so now him saying our roads are bad because there is no money is the biggest joke ever.... Contracts are being allocated to relatives who known nothing about roads, and who the only thing they want is to steal the whole money and this big thief here is telling us what???
Which Road are you maintaining?. For example a Road constructed last year August, Airport Road in Syokimau was of poor quality and Contractor has not been held accountable for doing shoddy work!. Most of Local Contractors they don't construct good quality roads!
