  • In this video I test two methods to remove stubborn sticker residue from metal. Both methods were successful - Find out which method you prefer.
    I purchased a curtain hanger from a thrift store that was all gummed up with way too much tape. When I removed the tape, it left all kinds of gluey, sticky residue that was quite frustrating to remove. I used this opportunity to experiment with two methods to remove this glue.
    It was easy!

    Forget Isoprophyl alcohol and acetone, WD40 worked best for me. I was trying to remove micropore tape from jar lids and wd40 was the winner. I then washed them in hot soapy water and used a spray of Iso to finish cleaning them to ensure there was nothing left.

      Nice. Yes I'll have to try WD40. That stuff has many uses! Thanks for the comment

      WD40 is the truest answer. It removed a nasty broken sticker from a pan bought at a store like nothing. Just sprayed and used a napkin. AMAZING!
      TY so much!

    Acetone damaged the paint on my Ikea magnetic board but it took out rough old encrusted thick tape. Had to follow-up with Windex and Jiff, short of siphoning gasoline from the car. Now two photograph prints hide the aftermath.

    How to remove the sticky residue from an anodized pan.

    • @lifefixx
      @lifefixx  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the sugggestion. It's funny you mention that. Because, I am pretty sure every anodized pan that i've bought and used, because of the protective coating, no lables or sticky residue was a problem.
      But my suggestion would be to use denatured alcohol (also known as methyl hydrate). It doesn't quite have the strength of acetone, but I've used it many times for cleaning and removing epoxys. It works, and doesn;t smell as bad... and isn't as toxic on your skin.
