I got a chance to meet Angelina at this concert. I was starstruck and acted like a deer in the headlights. She was so sweet and pulled me close and gave me a pat on the back. She really is as kind as she appears in these videos. I wish her all the happiness that life can bring.
Her singing, and her original songs in particular, have helped me overcome the grief of losing my wife of fifty years and find a way to enjoy whatever time I have left in this world. She really is a gift to whoever opens their hearts to her artistry.❤
She has had that effect on me too. My condolences.
And, Robert, somewhere your wife is so happy for you that you have discovered her. Angelina has helped so many of us who lost direction and she has given us purpose to live. She wants us all to begin to love one another and we do our part, don't we? We want to hang around as long as we can to watch her continue to grow and literally make a difference in the world as we know it.

Thats is the power of Angelina voice. If you got walls up, shes coming to crush down with love. She opens you up and sings into your soul so you can heal. She will drudge old memories up to the surface for you to deal with all the while embracing you like a mother embracing their child with her music that comes from her heart and that special place she talks about. Thats why Angelina is who she is and is named one of the best storytellers ever! 0 =)

😊 You are right that this is upbeat but there are others as well that we will get to. It is upbeat and hopeful for the young girl but it is also emotional. If you know the story and listen to Angelina singing the words, it may make you cry. It certainly makes me cry almost every time I hear it. Angelina is not just a singer but a special and fabulous human being. That is what drives the bond with so many fans.
As the first time hearing it, I was amazed at her ability not to cry when doing that dong for the first time
I never expected her to cry. At this point in time I believe she looks back on that as an enlightening moment. Something touched her greatly and she acted in a way that comes natural to her. She has never seen that girl again but I think in her mind that girl has gone on to bigger and better things. We will never know but Angelina is a very positive individual. When I cry it's not because it's sad, but because it's beautiful.
Your right this famous Cole porter song was from a 1940’s musical and popularized by Ella Fitzgerald however Angelina at 10 did a magical rendition.❤

Great reaction Sarge, she does it to all of us at some time or another. I think its because she touches some uncomfortable truths about the human condition. I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned that she also wrote a book about her encounter with the orphaned girl and became Norway's youngest published author at the age of 9. There is a tv interview where she reads from her diary entry of that day when she was 6 years old and what she wrote is not at all child like. Also its hand written not printed which I found impressive for a 6 year old.

"Princess of Ruins" is a song of celebration, as both the orphan girl and Angelina benefitted from their chance meeting. Angelina's family was dancing while she sang this song in Vegas.

The conversation with the little girl would have been in Farsi which Angelina speaks. Along with Norwegian her native language swedish the language of her father at least some Japanese and of course English.
