Many years ago, when the Tenacious family of knives first came out, I decided to purchase the smaller brethren, the Persistence. Some sixteen years or so later, I still have it and still get good use of it. Really a solid knife and great quality. Of course, in 2024, I'm a lot like you - what's always in my pocket? My Opinel! Thanks, George.

  • @MrDDiRusso

Most Spyderco knives are made in Seki City, Japan.

  • @MountainAjar

Me too George I just simply like knives , that’s it I like the ones I buy and buy them for what I intend to use them for.

  • @bert2530

Told you it’s a great knife.

  • @Orlosthedruid

Ive owned knives made of 8CR and 9CR for years, decades even; and to be honest, I have ZERO problems putting an edge on any of them.

  • @samueljlarson

Owned and sold a Spyderco Para 3 lightweight. To be honest, I sold it because it was too damn fun to fidget with and I don't want to turn into someone who "plays" with their knives lol. They are great knives and their thumbhole is the best opener I've found on a folder but I'd like if the china made ones were about 30% cheaper. Great review!

  • @Stans_Collectors_Universe

I know the Spyderco Tenacious that I have has been a great knife. Yes, I had to add a bit of thread locker to the pocket clip screws. But I do this to most of the knives that I own with pocket clips after losing many screws. I think you will find you like it for what it is designed for. Thanks for sharing and God bless.

  • @davidkurle5418

The Tenacious was my first Spyderco as well, I've got the older version with the G10 scales. That knife started up a whole collection for me, I've got nine Spydercos now and I may get a couple more. But that's the only China made one that I have, all my others are either made in the USA or Japan. Enjoy using that one, buddy!!

  • @DrDennis

Just bought my first Barlow at 71! Queen Cuterly sawed brown bone and it’s perfect and it’s China $21. Two blades ❤

Hope you are completely better soon, the flu is no fun.

  • @mikebohling2280

I'm glad you're getting over flu. Everyone around here have been sick. I bought that model some years ago at Wal-Mart, and still carry it. It's taken alot of abuse. And it was cheap. Well done George

I bought my first Spyderco I believe was in the 1980's they have been making great knives, the steel in my USA made knives seems to hold an edge better and I too have one of these Tenacious Chinese made ones, most recently I bought my son a Para3 model it is a great knife but was a $200 knife, It is out of my personal budget but was a gift for my son

Sorry to hear you are under the weather George. Keep those lungs clear: take deep breaths and steam your nasal passage with sauce pan with 3/4 inch water and a small amount on the tip of tsp of Vicks or Metholatum. Take glasses off and towel over head for 10 minutes, 2-3 times per day; really helps. There are some very nice knives that are made in China, like Camillus. Have some nice ones like Horizon and Reign. If you shop at any store we end up buying a lock of Chinese made products. If the steel is pretty good quality, it works for me. Take care; we need you. • @kennymcelheney8470

    Great video as always. 😊

  • @oldminer5387

Good review George, thank you. I think you are correct that Spiderco went to China to stay competitive. Good they continue to produce knives in the US, sorta like Buck Knives did. Take care.

  • @cynthiajeffrey

This made me want one….thanks for that! 😊

  • @terrell48

Glad to see your video , I know you have been mentioning having something ailing you but hope you get over this bug

  • @tonyhedrick7673

Check out Spyderco's budget brand, Byrd, quality + a great price! My favorite is the Harrier.😊

  • @STUFFWEDO

I like all the SPYDERCO knives, but have a look at the bow river it is a budget and a great little fixed blade. It is, however, made in China
