- Upgrades for the man Caves - Dremel to the rescue- I hope. Well kinda!
I have been considering my options for doing mods and what not here at the cottage. The problems...SPACE AND POWER. I am hoping Dremel has come through for this. I feel its my best option considering my budget, little space and no power in the south 40 man cave....so thanks for watching
always appreciated

Nothing better than some new toys. I'm 75 and I luv to get stuff like that makes my day. I call my shop my "FORT" , I tell my little bride that we are going out to fort to play, " WE" is me and my dog she lays in her chair and watches like Merry does. Nothing like having good help.
Enjoy the new toys you will have even more fun. Good luck Pal.
Lol...true story. Be safe
@larry-ht6yb HI George love the site and your sweet 🐈 makes me miss my cat. Mooch had him 17 years and two rattle snake bites I had to put him down still not over that. I am 75 as well but I'm a disabled vet in motorized chair with MS, but still going, buddy. Keep them shows going.
Thankyou. Appreciate it. You take care of yourself. And as always, appreciate your service. Be safe
I am soon to be 58 years old an have been using Dremel tools since I was around 5 or 6 years old. You will thoroughly enjoy working with Dremel tools. There is so much that can be done with Dremel. In many cases having practice and test medium is a good idea for a couple reasons: So you can practice, to know if the bit you are using is going to do what you want and not mess things up. Using the correct bit and RPM for the task is something you will need to get acclimated to as there are so many different bits (Dremel brand and 3ed party bits). There are a lot of attachments as well. I have more bits than I wish to try to count and quite a few attachments including that drill press you have.
I have several Dremel tools, but currently I mostly use the three 400XPR tools that I have had for quite a few years; one is always hanging with the Flex-Shaft on it, another resides on my drill press attachment and the third is always on the router table attachment.
Enjoy your new toys, and welcome to the rabbit hole of Dremel.
Lol..just what I need another rabbit hole. I hear you. I will be starting out slow with just basic stuff until I am comfortable with them. Yep gotta get the bits and speeds matched for sure. Been reading up on that. Thanks for watching and advice. Greatly appreciated. You be safe out there.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Dremel. It's another rabbit hole with many options, bits and bobs. I'm looking forward to seeing you expand your horizons.
Yep I have been looking at what they hit...the horror. Lol. Thankyou my friend. Be safe
I’ve had a corded Dremel and flex cable for over 30 yrs. It’s not broke so I just keep riding it. Enjoy your new toys Geo. Great haul. ❤
Yep I have and old craftsman corded had for 10 years. Still going. Just bulky and heavy. Be safe
Woohoo! New toys! Great addition to the man cave.
Yep very exciting...I hope..lol. gotta figure out what I can do now. The joy
I’m looking forward to seeing your new tools in action. Looks like you’ve done an excellent job of equipping your workspace and keeping it uncluttered. Well done, sir…!!
Lol...cannot work on a cluttered work space...one of my pet peeves...pll. be safe my friend
Very cool new tools you got there. I’m looking forward to seeing you use them to cleanup some knives. Thanks for showing them to us. 👍
Thankyou appreciated. Be safe my friend
For your effort and the great explanation of how the whole thing is constructed and works - you should actually get a fee from Dremel.
New tools are always good. It makes your fingers itch, I know that well.
Two years ago my daughter and I spruced up the basement (built a wooden shelf and bridge and laid a new power cable) and also bought new drilling and screwing tools for doing that. We drilled and screwed and tried out more things ... more than was necessary.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol...I thought about that. But my shed is too small..lol. loving these dremels. Be safe my friend 🙏
I like you had a small space to work in, so I made a Table that folded out of the way, I used 1 inch Plywood and some Hinges and a Brace to hold it up. When done I just folded it away. It would be big enough for your Dremel Gear. Glad you got some new Tools, they sure make this easier.
Lol thought about that but there's no room to unfold it...lol. be safe 😁
Wishing you the best with your new equipment. The Dremel’s that I have are 120 volt and I got them used. With a small brush head or buffer, they are great for knife reconditioning.
Wear eye protection. Those fine wires on the brushes are easily broken and fly all over the place.
Yep. The battery option for me, I had an old craftsman tool. That thing is strong but hard to handle for delicate things 😕. So here I am...whoot. be safe
@The-Armed-Pacifist yep. For sure. Noticed that.
Cool tools!!! Looking forward to the next project!!!!!
Yep very excited 😊
Nice addition George. I’m sure you will get some good use from your new tools!
Yep here's hoping. Be safe my friend
A very nice set-up, that takes little space, the drill press will be very useful, if the battery powered model is enough, it is worth it not to deal with messing around with the power cable. I think Merry disagrees, she loves that box, thanks for sharing, George.
Lol..true. merry dies shipping cause she wants the boxes to play in..m
Looks like Merry did a thorough inspection of the packaging materials. Man that sucks that the one box had been opened, I hope they can do something like a partial refund for you. Looks like some really neat stuff for the man cave setup. Thanks for sharing and can't wait to see you putting it to use. Have a great Independence Day and God bless.
Yep its the only time she does any work...typical boss. Be safe
Good luck George nice tool 👍 ideal for light work .
Yep. Works well for cleaning up blades etc. Be safe
I love my Dremel tools. I also use a Dremel with a small drill bit and the press to drill holes in leather.
Yep thats one of the reasons I got em. Be safe, thanks for watching
Well George. That looks like that may work really well for you. I might have to consider them for a small workbench for myself. Thank you for going over them thoroughly and as always thank you for the video. Have a good day. 😀
I should add that I primarily watch videos because I like watching the person doing the video and the subject matter is secondary.
Thanks for watching. Looking forward to using them. Hopefully they will up my game...lol. be safe
Thankyou. Good to know I certainly appreciate that 😊
Can't wait to see what you go with the new toys Woot!
Got try some things, figure out what I can do...lol. learning, the joy. 5hanjs for the support as always
Get an EZ-Lock bit to make changing grinding and cutoff wheels easier. There is an EZ change sanding drum bit, as well. Dremels are great little devices for small wood shops. I have several. Perfect for modifying Opinels and restoring other sharp and shiny items.
Hmmmm. Gonna have to look at that. Thankyou
Oh boy, I just got my first dremel tool as well. Learning to fix slip joint knives, there were certain tools I needed, got a little drill press, belt sander and grinding wheel, but I never got a dremel tool, man was I missing out! Just for cleaning up old rusty carbon steel knives, these things are worth the $. Next thing I’ll be walking around my house looking for things that need “polishing” lol cool video George thanks for sharing
Lol...its a rabbit hole, they have alot of accessories....just saying. Be safe appreciate the support
Nice setup George,
Always good to have a Dremel tool in the shop, they're very handy.
Have a fun, safe & blessed 4th of July weekend.
JT
Yep very excited. You too be safe
They used to make a attachment for Dremel's that is a cable driven hand piece so you do not have to hold the whole motor and tool, so it is more maneuverable it always looked pretty handy to me
Yep they have that. That's why they have the steel clip on the tool to hand on the vice when using the flex drive they have. Pretty cool. 😍
Nice new toys. Can’t wait to see them in action. Carry On Sir! Have a great 4th weekend my friend!
Thankyou my friend hope all is well. I used your knife for testing it...lol
@@2ndchancegeorgecan’t wait to see it. I also just sent you an email about my new sharp & shiny (Opinel #9) purchased yesterday. See pics in email & let me no your thoughts. Carry On Sir!
@billygodby1066 yep got it.
Handy looking tool choices. 👍
L..hopefully...we will see. Be safe my friend
Hi George, great video! thanks for explaining everything so well. I have an older model Dremel tool that's a plug in. I've been interested in those accessories for quite some time now. I'd like to get the cordless and all the stuff you have. It sure would make working on stuff a lot easier having both hands free and the ability for all those angles to hold the tool. I don't have the room for a full workshop either! Hope you and Mary have a great 4th of July. 👍🐈⬛🎆
Thankyou for the support. Loving these adds for sure. Mary is mary...lol. be safe this 4th.
Wow apparently I need to update my Drexel stuff ! Well done George !
Lol...I exactly 💯. That's what happened to me when I looked at thier site. Be safe my friend
So you also have entered a new adventure with your Dremel. I just bought and received a Butuze leather working kit and a piece of leather off Amazon. I have never done leather work. I am going to need a book from the looks of it. Your videos getting me in trouble here.😂😂 I am hoping to make some knife slips.
Slips are a goid starting project for sure. I watched alot of videos...lol. just be safe and have fun
I have a press that uses a regular drill. Haven't used it in years. I found it two or three months ago. I thought wonder if a cordless drill would work in it ? You could use something like that. Haven't been doing very well this spring. First one thing then another, doing better last couple weeks. There is a collet that works like a drill chuck, I love mine. Have a great day
They gave the collet aswell. They got alot of accessories for this stuff. It's another rabbit hole. Take care my friend get well
@2nd Chance George The Dremel Multi Chuck is great. The drill bit set is great and so is the flex shaft.
Edit: I’d advise to stay a away from cheap diamond cutting wheels. The Dremel branded are cheaper in the long run.
Yep heard tha. thankyou
Great video George, I have found the aftermarket battery’s work well much cheaper
Yep looking at that. Some of the reviews were not good. But still looking...lol. be safe
That's a nice setup!! Hope you have a great 4th of July, buddy!
Thankyou, you too my friend
Great tool and i have a dremel 220 alsow perfect to use if you have to drill thick leather and eaven have a burnisher on it
Ohh good idea. Thankyou
Mines starting to vibrate pretty good, but I bought back in 2000. It might be time to upgrade to one like yours.
Yep. I had an old craftsman.
@@2ndchancegeorge that drill press adapter is pretty cool! I bought an old craftsman at a thrift store for eight bucks. I attached a drill to it and I use it for roll crimping 10 gauge hulls
@tripplebeards3427 lol. Had mine fir 12 years. Still works 💪
Money well spent George! Congratulations on the new purchases 😀 Can't wait to see how you "stretch yer legs" with your new toys! I may be speaking out of turn but, if it were me, I'd be contacting Amazon and talking to them about a discount/refund for sending a used product in place of a new one. I wouldn't let 'em get away with it, but I'm a grumpy old man. Just sayin'...
I put it in my review..lol. I am OK if ut works plus it's warranty and I gave proof...lol. be safe
I have the same thing, George, I love the eas.
Yep. Best money I spent in a while. The joy. Looking at other things they have the horror. Be safe.
U 2 Bud
@2ndchancegeorge HI George; It's Richard from Oklahoma. I sent Kevin a note and I'll ask you the same question. I am a disabled navy veteran in a power chair have been a long time . I have my little shop in my garage. I asked Kevin if he has too many knives to give a proper
cleaning just to many or the ones you don't want to please send me some I would love it. I love the outdoors but don't really have the ability to do it. I can't get out and hunt knives. Thanks again and tell Mary I said hi.
Lol. I don't get alot of knives. Unlike the Doctor.....but I'll have a look and maybe find some when I go looking tommorow. Send me an email mine is in the description below. So zi can contact you. Be safe
Soo..did the supervisor claim the boxes for managerial purposes(sleeping in them)? I am more a Proxxon guy, but Dremel for sure has a good reputation.
And I think they sell some tools more powerful than Proxxon does ;-)
Never seen proxcin. Huh. Dremmel has alot of accessories.
I love your videos
Thankyou. Much appreciated. Glad you watching. As always you be safe out there
