I found this SAK at a swap meet, FOR $1.00. The scales were iffy so I decided to dress it up for those Movie , dinner nights out.

A coffee cup of hot water, two minutes in the microwave. Put the knife and the new scales in. It keeps the scales from chipping when taking the scales off and makes it easier to put the new scales on, by hand. Just use a wash cloth when pressing down by hand. I've put a ton of new scales on old, and new, Victorinox knives over the years using this method. Just put a new set of scales on a Cybertool Small before this video popped up on my feed. I have to have somewhere between fifty to one hundred Victorinox Swiss Army knives in my collection now. They're definitely addictive. Lol
Edit: Let it all soak for a few minutes. I usually go with five minutes before removing the knife and new scales from the coffee cup.

Nice! I recall seeing someone using copious amounts of Rem oil to clean knives up. Lol Kevin do you know anything about that? Lol I use a heap of Rem oil myself.

Yep. I didn't show but I use alcohol to get rid of wd40 then mineral oil afterwards. Sorry forgot to mention that. Be safe my friend. Appreciate the input.
Hey 2cg how did you what size scales to order ? I have a couple older saks that Id like to change the scales on.
You can measure the CLOSED knife. That is the size scales that are available. Example 91mm...hope that helps

My Recuit that I used to work in the factory is in a much worse condition. Scratched, worn, scuffed and the tweezers fall out every now and then.
The new handles look so cool. Really great! Nice cleaning, great work!
My fingers are itching again and I want white handles too. But I want so much... green, black, white handles... it's awful.
Maybe next year when I order a new Recruit for work.

George I love your videos, but you are costing me money. I have been buying old Victoronix knives and refurbishing them. I plan on donating them to my sons old scout troop to give to scouts who need them.
