This is exactly what happened to riverdale. The initial mystery/whodunnit element from a tightly knit first season eventually unravels into a loosely heaped mess of ridiculous sex and wildly unnecessary subplots. Also now that the fan favourite characters are either dead or graduated, it feels like there's no one left to root for anymore 😪
Personally I watch it for the loosely heaped mess of ridiculous Sex and wildly unnecessary subplot so I would really like it if they would stop it with the mystery whodunit stuff it’s annoying. Like I want them to stop trying to be a murder mystery and embrace being Spanish gossip girl.
@@ly-sh1oy Wow you're rude. 'Newer fans'? I've been watching intently since day one and I'm in agreement with Annabel. What really got us in is the dark drama between rich people - that's where the murder and it's aftermath were rooted after all. Maybe it would benefit them to move away from a murder/assault mystery each season? More to the point though, if you're not enjoying it anymore, don't watch it - simple as. The show owes you absolutely nothing at this point and the characters have changed - good place to jump off?
@@soulvey You're just way too sensitive, I'm not saying she is the problem it's moreso what she said, Elite drew people in because it was a murder mystery, season 1 to 3 are the most talked about seasons among the fans for those reasons, the latter seasons forgot what made Elite popular and instead turned it into something completely different, why do you think people have a problem with them
Riverdale is at least bizarre, you can watch it only to know how they keep getting weirder and weirder, it's not good, but at least is not boring (for me) But... Elite, it's more of the same thing they only change actors, but their story and personalities are the same as other characters.
Philippe being a suspect in S4 would've been so cool. The moral in S1 was that rich people get away with anything. Having him get away with his crime would set him up as a new antagonist like Polo. Instead, all the characters are so disconnected
@@cristhianmontoya6648I honestly think they should have kept him around so he could have been the one that raped Isadora, it’s fucked that he’s also a sexual abuser but then Isadora is the one who takes Philippe with her when she goes to the police. It’s a completely fucked up narrative. They should have changed the story to Philippe raping Isadora, because as a rich kid she actually could have done something against Philippe and change the narrative of the entire show, unlike Cayetana who couldn’t do anything because she simply doesn’t have the resources.
@@Destiny-nz5ygi agree seasons 1-3 made it my favorite show. Then season 4 came out and flopped so bad in my book, i never continued watching afterwards
bro i could not finish season 4 like it was a literal snooze fest with those new characters man so i haven’t continued watching the rest. seasons 1-3 are superior
I think it was supposed to be this big shocker because Samuel was the closest we ever got to a main character and as a definite goodbye to the old cast, but it just kinda fell flat imo. Samu isn’t the most interesting character, he’s honestly pretty boring, but he didn’t deserve that either
Elite season 1 was great because the “rich people can get away with anything and everyone else suffers because of them,” theme is more than real. It felt like an actual school; we saw the kids partying, but also studying, prepare for their futures, yet the kids made mistakes because as pompous as they were, they’re just KIDS. So it’s extremely uncomfortable that season 4 they bumped up the sex like crazy. Something happened in the writers room. It went from a decent and clever story to “who looks more attractive having sex together.” What a bummer.
"season 4 they bumped up the sex like crazy" to be completely honest the show has always featured (too) many sex scenes since season 1. Maybe people started to realize during season 4 because of the obvious lack of an interesting plot, but saying there are way more sex scenes in season 4 than the three first seasons is not true either.
I thought I was the only one who found it disturbing. Why are there so many sex scenes when they're just minors?? Honestly they should've just made it a college school instead of a high school, same thing with Euphoria. I don't understand why modern shows do this.
It felt like child pornography to me which was really disturbing. I think the only sex scene that made sense was Patrick and “Robertson’s” son. I hated that plot line, but the sex scene with the two of them was about exploring your sexuality and Patrick finally having a relationship that can end in a commitment. The other ones were unnecessarily horny.
That’s how it works lol. When writers have no idea for a story and to fill the time of the episode they just say “hey let’s put a sex scene here and fill up the time”.
The thing that got me personally is the rape excusing arc of s4-s5. For such a modern show, targeted on today's teens, I can't imagine where they pulled that storyline from. We have: rich asshole rapes women, his mom covers it up and he's called out publicly. Then his female friend supports him, persuading his ex gf to stand by him while he continues to be unrepentant. Finally, female friend is gang raped. Either it's just for shock value, which is vile, or they're trying to pass a message, which is worse
Yeah, exactly. I still have no clue why they did this AT ALL, it is unfathomable that anyone in the writers room actually thought any of this was a good idea. It is especially sickening that they keep bringing up the "morally grey" areas in a situation like this, as if SA is in any way excusable?
this!! and i quite honestly don't get the hype about isadora. don't get me wrong here, she did not deserve what happened to her, nobody deserves that. but the way she accused cayetana of lying and tried to make her seem like a terrible person for not standing by her r*pist is so messed up. i don't get all the edits about isadora painting her as some sort of "queen" when she was literally a bully to cayetana.
@@andrewreviews ELITE has always been morally grey, are you forgetting Lu sending a video of nadia and guzman fucking to the whole school, or lu and his brother hooking up???
@nachoarest now this is just an awful take. You CANNOT in your right mind be comparing consensual sexual relationship between step-siblings to sexual assault. SA is not morally grey, it is morally wrong, full stop.
I agree. At the end it should’ve been Cayetana with Isadora reporting her r*pists not with another r*pist. And Isadora in the beginning excusing it like okay it happened let’s move on and forgive him and she goes thru the same shit in s6 but he got a happy ending and Samuel didn’t.
I swear Ari only exists to create tension between male characters as she always seems to be in the middle of 2 guys despite lacking a personality other than being really horny when drunk. At least with Mencia & Patrick it felt like there was more to them than who they're sleeping with or cheating on (not by much but at least you can't boil them down to I sleep with people beneath me when I drink too much). Also, it annoyed me how Patrick hooking up with Ivan's dad focuses completely on him cheating/betraying Ivan while ignoring the fact that an adult man is sleeping with a guy in high school but what can you expect from a show that essentially uses a character getting gang raped to redeem a rapist. At least Cayetana got to persue her dream.
that part!! ari is literally only there to create love triangles. she is probably the worst character in the whole show. not because she is evil or something but purely because she literally has no personality. her actress is essentially doing the job of a porn star.
@@joepb03_ fuck now I gotta watch it, thanks though I feel like she's one of those characters no one really talks about so it's nice to see someone else was a fan
The biggest flaw was Isadora's introduction, or the lack of it. She just shows up out of nowhere. Who is she? what's her connection to filipe and why is she defending him so hard?
the redemption of a rapist is so fucking disgusting they completely lost me when i realised this was the story line and then decided to have a girl get gang raped. i couldn't believe they took this turn i haven't watched and wont watch the show after that.
@@Eva-wo1umSpoiler alert A new character (Philip) was introduced and he had r**ed a girl and in the season finale he did the same to Cayetana In season 5 he tries to overcome this by going to the school's counsellor (or something like that) and according to many people there is an attempt to redeem him in the viewers' eyes I haven't watched Elite for a while so I might be wrong at some points but this is basically what happened
The way I was so focused on how much season 4 ruined Omar and ander's relationship and Guzman's development, that I didn't realize it was worse than I thought
season 1 was some genuinely great mystery tv. the way ep1 showed us that marina was the victim but was also the nicest and liked by everyone; slowly evolving until everyone had a reason to kill her by the finale was really good writing. then season 2 was pretty good too, delving further into the themes of class disparity and the messed up justice system that favors the rich and exploring the effect of marina's murder to the rest (and the new students introduced were again emphasizing the themes, for eg: cayetana pretending to be rich). the 3rd season wasn't GREAT but at least was a good enough conclusion for the whole marina storyline. after that, not only has the quality dropped but they've completely lost the core themes of the show too! they don't even address the themes of class and discrimination as much anymore it's just murder and parties and nothing else. the show has become a parody of itself.
The first three seasons were connected by the same crime, Marina’s story, and they had the same characters which were so good. It would’ve been so perfect to end it right at season 3. From there they renewed the series just for the hype making it all about sex and bullshit
This is the biggest reason why the first seasons are best. Even when they added new characters they all still knew about marinas death and were all involved with eachtother. So when someone died ANYONE could have done it bc everyone knows the story
Season 1 was the only truly good season imo. I liked season 2 as a continuation and i think the new characters were great as well as having the carla and samuel pairing. Season 3 was just not good but at least it had the original cast. Seasons 4&5 should've never been made
@@maggierhee0 No it isn't. Season 3 has useless pairings like Nadia with a gay dude, Carla with a random who tries to cater to her, and Samuel with Rebe, and nobody is even remotely happy at all. It's very forced and a waste of time. Only reason people like Season 3 was the ending and the original cast.
To me the original appeal was the disadvantaged kids being dropped into a school for the ELITE haha. When we lost them we lost the tension and most importantly the relatability. Give me more kids on scholarships, not the 3 Benjamin Brats 😪
Yea, they wrote Christian out and I missed him, but became interested with Samuel doing his thing in season 2, but then season 3 feels like a lot of the struggle is gone, and it's just everyone against Polo, which is okay, but not as intriguing. Then after season 3.... Well
I agree with what you said about the decline in quality of writing of the show that is very obvious in season 4. Since season 4, we've been seeing way more sex scenes, intoxication scenes, and less mystery. The reason why I liked the first 2 seasons was because of the mystery and betrayal aspects. season 3 was alright but not as good as the first 2. It definitely would have been a great season to end the show on. But no, they just kept going. What is the point of continuing to film a show if the writing and plots don't follow the structure of the previous seasons that were well received?
In season 4, very few people cared about Ari. So hardly anyone cared who did it. Unlike, in season 1, we as audience, we felt connected and involved in Marina's life. We cared for her, which all the more added to the mystery and curiosity.
The introduction of Isadora reminds me of that bit in 'The Room' where one of the actors left early, so they gave his part in a scene to this random new character who appears completely out of nowhere and acts like he's been there the whole time.
And then in season 6 they introduced like 6 new characters with NO background whatsoever and they are all just a tight group of friends out of nowhere, unlike the earlier seasons where the short stories explained where those unlikely friendships and new characters came from and how they got closer. Here they just introduced a bunch of random people and they are all bffs to the characters that stayed out of nowhere.
What turned me off is kinda how they're never at school anymore? Like the shows original premise was the whole "elite" private school thing. Now its just teens clubing and having sex.
Exactly! Like sure the murder is intresting ofc but the main thing of the show is that these kids are filthy rich and have crazy drama and go to fancy parties and the school social class with the scholarship kids.
Another thing that really everyone is failing to mention but ultimately had a major impact is how messy the uniforms became? At first we understood that the uniform was slightly customisable with Carla and Lu etc.. but even Rebe was still the « odd » one out when she came to school with her crop shirts and flashy jewellery. The reason it worked for her is because it was truly part of her character she just didn’t give a f given her background. But then the latest season it’s like??? What kind of school allows THIS? It can’t be taken seriously in the context of school at all and when your pair it with the EXCESSIVE partying it’s like.. these are grown ass people. Not teens. Which really takes away the realistic element of the story.
THIS. They just seem to be out partying at Isadora House every night after which they return to their homes where they live alone or with their partner (Nico being the only one living with his parents). And they never have any problem making it to that drone shot of crossing the bridge and entering the school on time, never hungover or tired. Then they sit down for a quick chat before a class that never starts, use the bathroom and leave again. I feel like the first seasons were more believable, with Omar worrying about his grades, Samu learning to cook his own food and live alone for the first time, arguments with their parents and teachers etc.
exactly!! and the uniform was made such a big deal out of in s1 because of nadia and lu and then in later seasons everyone is just showing up to school in anything
Yes!!!, Lu was a star student so she was allowed some customization, Carla was the daughter of a duchess, so again, allowed. But only them (and rebe, for the same reasons you said). In season 5 it was ridiculous.
its legit hypocrital because in season one nadia wasnt allowed to wear her hijab which was a part of her religion ' no hats allowed " but by seaon 3 rebe pops up with a hat and the dress code be getting sadder and sadder . like your allowed to dress like you work on the streets but not wear something to your religion . also bengi was said to inforced stricter rules but kids stilled looked like hookers , espuically his own daughter who is never seen in something modest ( its her own body yes but theres a time and place for everything but she was writen by men so
even the multiple changes of principals is no excuse for the fact that nadia isnt allowed to wear a hijab in s1 but cloe can walk around in nothing but a bra and a blazer in s7.... sure
For me ELITE ended on season 3, The mystery of marina dead was the main plot for season 1-3 and it was so satisfied watching it all turn out. The writing was also the best, they made the plot so carefully so every time you try to guess whats next they switch it up. They also gave season 2 & 3 its own plot without forgetting the development for the main plot. The built up for each character and seeing how them turns out in the end are also so satisfied to watch, we get enough time to get connected with the characters that we will feel sympathy for each of them, I even feel pity and heart broken when Polo died in season 3 (Sorry spoiler). I agreed that the new season (4-5) were felt rushed. In addiction of the new characters involved, I feel like they want to introduce the new characters so quickly but also solved the mystery in just 1 season running, made we cant really feel connected with them fully. Especially after watching the build up for previous season get shattered in just 2-3 episode in.
The thing that I disliked the most about Elite was its linkedness to Riverdale. Especially how the male protagonist (Archie/Samuel) goes from likeable/bland to the most insufferable prick with the biggest hero complex I’ve ever seen in both cases.
I thought that if they began season 4 with an entirely new cast, the show would have been so much better. When they ruined Guzman/Nadia is when I stopped watching. They just couldn’t give them their happy ending 😢
I also liked how the earlier seasons felt somewhat like a normal high school show, with storylines like Lu and Nadia competing for the same scholarship. They barely spent any time at school in season six! All we got were shower scenes in the locker room. The rest of the show takes place at Isadora's club, where they are partying and drinking constantly. I understand these are rich kids who are allowed to get away with a lot more than others, but really? None of these new characters want to do well in school or get into good universities? The constant partying with pointless drama just gets so old after awhile.
You said it perfectly! I was enraged with the Cayetana and the prince plot so much, I couldn't go past 3 episodes in season 5, i was soooo disappointed. But I was extremely happy to see this video. It's so true, the difference in writing is suffocatingly obvious! Thank you for the content! 💗😁 much appreciated
Everything went downhill after polo died and carla, lu and nadia left. In my opinion it should've just ended there. They just milked the crap out of that show for money. these are my issues with this show: -Why does someone need to get killed almost every season? -Why are there so many sexual scenes? Especially since they're supposed to be minors?? -Bad storyline, coming up with something new every season even though nothing makes sense -Normalizing cheating on your partner (A lot of modern shows do this tbh) I've been watching this show for a few years and would be so excited if a new season came out, but it just doesn't feel the same anymore after season 3.
To me it does make sense that they kill someone almost every season, because that is just the premise of the show; a murder mystery. The murder’s should have just made more sense and be interconnected from the fourth season onwards. Marina’s and Polo’s deaths actually made sense being connected, the rest just really didn’t
I think it could have had a really good 4 and 5 season if they invested more in the writing, elite is the type of show that can continue being good for a long time.....but they ruined it
We werent prepared to how Bad is season 6 ☠️ I, a person who accepts how bad elite is and who enjoys it, I must say that this last season is indefensible
Same here. Elite used to be my guilty pleasure but season 6 was just soft porn without any storyline at all. Maybe targeted at an audience with a kink for school uniforms, who love watching people who are obviously in their 20s and act accordingly pretend to go to school and dress up for it every now and then.
I have a feeling Felipe or Philippe or whatever's going to become the new Samuel in later seasons (sort of the main character), which could explain his sudden "redemption arc". In recent posters for season 6, they show him in the center of the group. Edit: aaand hes not in the show anymore : D
I did watch seasons 1-3 and although it's not really my genre I really liked some of the characters like Guzman and Ander. Especially Guzman carried a lot of the show for me and his chemistry with Samuel or polo, Ander etc was really good. I feel like season 4 just completely threw his character development overboard only to write him out of the show in such a weird way. I wish they would have built upon the friendship of Guzman and Samuel instead of just flat out ruining it. With Ander and Guzman gone as well, I don't feel a lot of connection to the remaining cast anymore. They should have kept more of the og characters imo. I started with season 5 but I wont finish it, it's just boring and weird for me
i hate what they did with guzman in s4 so much!! he came such a long way from the rich, arrogant bully to a loving boyfriend and a genuinely good friend to samu. and then they did that stupid love triangle between samu, ari and guzman, ruining all the friendship they've been building for 3 seasons all for a girl neither of them had any chemistry with.
@@jupitersecIipse damn couldn't have said it any better. S4 had nothing to do with developing characters anymore, way too shallow. Which is sad, as the characters were already there, they should have just act like they normally would. Samu and Guzman would never grow so hostile towards each other because of someone like Ari. And just acting like they are besties again in the final ep, is just not gonna do it
tbh there are SOME things I liked about the whole Felipe/Isadora thing. Felipe, in my opinion, is the perfect example of a guy who found out about feminism with MeToo and is "trying to change" and "be an ally" and "be held accountable"...ONLY to a certain extent. Like of course he is not going to pay for the victim's therapies, of course he will confess to them, but not to the police, and of course he will go to therapy...Only to quit it when it makes him stop feeling good about himself. It's very wrong, but his sorta redemption arc is a perfect example of the lenghts society will go to excuse an abuser, especially when he's wealthy and good looking and looks a tad remorseful. And here comes Isadora. It's terrible, it's horrendous, but we've all seen women like her, who will go above and beyond to redeem an abuser because they're attracted to him. See Roman Polanski's wife, see the women who defended Harvey Weinstein. H o w e v e r : the fact that she is gang raped, almost like sort of a divine punition for defending an abuser, is wrong on so many level - like, is this supposed to be karma ? And even if it had, here would have been a very good (though infuriating) opportuny for Felipe to show his true colours : when knowing about what had happened, he would have said "oh, I don't know, I was way too drunk" or smthing. Caye should have been with Isadora at the police station, not F*cking Felipe.
I saw these seasons a long ago, so I don't remember it 100%, but I think in season 4 and at the beginning of the 5 they didn't confirm if he was a victim or a real abuser. At first, I thought that the cameras in his house and that stuff were because he really was afraid of being accused of something he didn't do. And I supported him and Cayetana, and next Isadora, because a lot of people nowadays are accused of serious things without any clue, and have been innocents. Then turn out that he really was an abuser, and that he was hiding a really toxic personality. To end this story, you know what happened to Isadora. I don't understand the point of all of this.
Whenever I tell someone to watch elite, I tell them to stop at season 3. Season 4 is kinda ok but still, in my opinion, the show should've ended at season 3
And now we are in season 6, where NONE of the original actors from season 1 remain. Yeah that’s my cue to finally leave, whereas I should have left after season 3 itself.
I watched the first season with excitement and joy, the second and third out of curiosity, the fourth out of morb and could not finish it. That was it for me. I cannot believe people are still watching that
As someone from the country it was made in, here we dunk on Élite constantly for pretty much being straight up p*rn at this point and the characters being high schoolers portrayed by adults who obviously keep getting older as the show refuses to end. Hell, i didnt even know it was a murder mystery until two months ago when I was forced to watch one episode.
You deserve more views. Such a good quality video. Cant wait to see your opinion on season 6. I was so bored of it i had to watch it while doing other stuff because it was just one sex scene after another for no good reason...
So, I just finished season 6. They handled the Isadora storyline well enough, but it was very graphic with both sexual assault and a gay bashing and I found it triggering. I agree ELITÉ devolved into a basic drama for the sake of nonsensical drama telenovela. They literally pose the question of "if you can't forgive your r4pist friend what do you suggest?? He sucidar himself?"
This makes me so glad that I never continued elite after season 3. As soon as i saw the trailer for season 4 with the new characters and my favs (carla, nadia and lu) not coming back, I just couldnt bring myself to watch it. Good to know i wasnt missing much.
@@sofiam.8474 yea me too! tbh I mostly enjoyed it bc I was rooting for Isadora but the ending?????? the ENDING was what really ruined it for me, it's like that other show "star" where they ended the show off with a shooting
A little summary of elite seasons: season 1: great season 2: good season 3: meh season 4: wtf season 5: WTF season 6: wait, there's a season 6?? upcoming season 7: ok stop. just STOP.
Logically he should’ve lost his scholarship after the initial years, it just seems weird to me that they would extend his scholarship at Las Encinas after he was held back a year. It’s just dumb loopholes they didn’t fix because they needed to keep him around for two more seasons
I feel like season 4 is them just adding a bunch of new pretty people to change the cast , a lot of sex , parties , drugs uninteresting plot disappointed . I tried season 6 but I can’t get into it tbh for me the decline started season 3 really it was meh
Season was definitely the peak, it was incredible. Season 2 and 3 were also very good imo, although the mystery felt weaker. There were only two things I liked about the later seasons: Cayetana’s final arc and Patrick and Ivan’s relationship. Cayetana’s arc just felt full-filing, realistic and it made sense with her character and the things she’d gone through. With Patrick and Ivan - I just liked the time and care that was put into the relationship, even if it might’ve felt disjointed from the rest of the messy storyline. I don’t know if we’re getting more seasons, but I really really hope they take a hard look at what they’re putting out and make changes for the better.
why does this show get multiple seasons when only the first two were good, yet other popular shows like warrior nun get cancelled? Netflix is out of their minds
The character arcs of all the characters in season 1-3 was perfection. You start rooting for Samuel but then he becane quite flawed, then you find out more about rhe rich kids lives and how it isn't all glam and roses. I loved Guzmans redemption, and how slowly Nadia changed and became more relaxed and free. Polo's come uppance. The only character i couldn't stand was that social media girl turned cleaner. But then after s3, all the new characters were just empty and i couldn't connect at all. They were weird caricatures and didn't seem like real people. The show became very Riverdale esque with weird situations like the prince, and it just got silly and every character was suddenly bi just for the plot, so they could fit as many meaningless sex scenes and threesomes in as possible.
you are so underrated, i was expecting a lot more subs, you have great quality videos. i watched the first 3 seasons when i was bored and i never got the hype but at least it was kinda enjoyable. From your summary, the 4th and 5th seasons just sound exhausting. That philippe storyline is just so messed up i'm glad i never watched the 4th and 5th seasons
The first three seasons were amazing. It had three acts structure, beginning, middle, end. All characters already had their endings. It should end there! If they want to make more seasons, make one with completely new cast. Let the old cast move on with their character development intact
dude i used to be a really big elite fan and i would keep up with the seasons releases, so i was pretty excited when season 4 came out bc although a lot of the loved characters left, that usually doesn’t turn me away from the show and there were still a good amount of notable characters still there, but right off the bat i fucking hated it after loving seasons 1-3 and it’s still disappointing to me to this day. the way that they kinda threw guzman and nadia’s relationship out the window with the introduction of ari was such a betrayal to me especially since they were such an iconic couple, and then the absolute betrayal with ander cheating on omar with patrick after everything they went through in their relationship with omar having to hide his sexuality bc his parents wouldn’t accept him, and the fact that they had to navigate through ander’s cancer diagnosis, like these new characters came in and fucked up the whole foundation of the show and it literally made me hate the new characters. there was also so many sex scenes and after a point they made me like so uncomfortable bc i was tired of seeing them at every turn. i couldn’t get past like ep 3 bc i felt just in that time the writers ruined the show edit: i also forgot to mention they have those little short stories. don’t sleep on the actual good ones bc that cayetana, rebeka, and guzmán short story had me laughing my fucking ass off like that one is literally so good
after Samuel died, and Rebbe and Omar just leaving without an explanation, I stopped watching. it was similar for me to how 13 Reasons Why ended. seasons 1 and 2 being the best.
The show started falling off after season 3 because the story is not growing. They are stuck in the same school and no logical story line. They should’ve make sequence stories with the original cast of what they’ve gone to after high school. They should highlight more matured story line with what they do in the future like career, family and who ended up together and so on… plus the new cast aren’t likable compared to the og.
You said exactly my feeling about later seasons - I really wanted to like it but I just couldn’t. I was sad that some characters had to go but it was an opportunity and something we don’t see often. But they failed and it was disappointing.
I finished S6 and it was way better than S4 & S5. Took me a second to realize Philippe didn’t come back since I don’t think he got a final conclusion other than being present at Isadora’s confession. I personally think S1, 2, & 3 increase in quality as they go. It resets with S4 but it was executed so poorly. S5 was slightly better but not my much and S6 has the same quality as S1 by itself, which is sad bc S6 is seems to be a conclusion checkpoint and S1 is obviously a starting point. Now that S7 is confirmed and Omar has been confirmed to come back, hopefully it might get better. I predict we might see Omar and Nadia’s parents return and finally see Omar’s and Nadia’s sister that was mentioned in previous season with the Syrian-Spanish actress joining the cast.
All went downhill after season 3. They ended good things like Guzman and Nadia's relationship and for what? They made Guzman and Samuel simp over the new girl because they were horny and thus further stretch the plot. It literally could have just been Samuel falling in love with a new girl but noooo they wanted the most attention-grabbing plot so they throw the only wholesome relationship under the bus to make it tragic even though the reason for their breakup was incredibly dumb. They had the perfect opportunity to deepen their relationship further by testing Guzman's loyalty or something and him eventually realizing he'll always love Nadia and that alone would have gotten fans to stay. I'd suggest any beginners to stop watching at S3 because you'll be met with a whole lotta disappointments after that.
In Spain most of us don't like it, from season one, it was more of "basic straight rich ppl" show, cuz no one else was watching it, it was always considered as "lame" by most
This show has strayed so far from what it originally started with. After the main cast left, they really should have ended it. These recent seasons are kinda boring and unnecessary, however I want to know how it ends, if this is the last season.
Here after watching the shit show that was season 7. 1-3 were ducking gold. The problem is the crap storylines and writing that’s dipped. Give us a good mystery we can invest again. They can’t help that the cast need to move on.
I recently rewatched seasons 1 to 3 and I remembered how much I really liked them. The show had its flaws and all but I loved the whodunnit mysteries and the character development for almost all of the main characters, and whenever I do rewatches I just stop after season 3 because, like you said, it had a sense of finality to it and it really should have been the series finale. I started off liking season 4 but then I didn't like the subplots they pulled out from a hat, and plus, it really felt like they took all the character development from the previous three seasons and they just undid it (especially when it comes to Samuel and Guzmán's friendship and how they got to that point - but no, we want a love triangle for Ariadna so bye bye, decently pulled off enemies to friends). I didn't finish season 5 and had no interest in watching season 6; I didn't even know it was being released and when it suddenly dropped on Netflix was when I did a rewatch of the first three seasons. I think this show's a good example of what happens when shows are dragged on needlessly for far too long. They lose their essence entirely and they just turn into boring garbage dramas.
Season 1-3 was so good because the characters were connected. It should’ve end at S3. Something happened in the writing room in Season 4,5,6 because there is no real plot and so much unnecessary sex scenes. The relationship are rushed
@lhero1465 elite got more popular when Manu Rios came in. Now, they're bringing in Annita. By this we can understand what level of popularity this show has achieved that they've renewed it for S8 even before the release of S7. It is one of the most profitable shows of netflix & they're not going to stop it anytime soon.

@@annabelcrescibene4257 That's the problem with some of you newer fans and the new seasons
@@soulvey You're just way too sensitive, I'm not saying she is the problem it's moreso what she said, Elite drew people in because it was a murder mystery, season 1 to 3 are the most talked about seasons among the fans for those reasons, the latter seasons forgot what made Elite popular and instead turned it into something completely different, why do you think people have a problem with them
Riverdale is at least bizarre, you can watch it only to know how they keep getting weirder and weirder, it's not good, but at least is not boring (for me)

Philippe being a suspect in S4 would've been so cool. The moral in S1 was that rich people get away with anything. Having him get away with his crime would set him up as a new antagonist like Polo.
Instead, all the characters are so disconnected

Right. They build this interesting story around him, making a possible rapist and what not. But nope just get rid of him just because.

Yep, only loyal member and gets axed by a push
He died pathetically, I hate it when that Bob girl got in between Guzman and Samuel 😮
@@Kittx241 because they want to normalize hook up culture In younger generations. It's sad & I'm saying this as someone who watched and enjoyed Elite.
Cayetana's send off was my favorite. I know exactly what she is doing with her life and what her passions are.

In season 5 he tries to overcome this by going to the school's counsellor (or something like that) and according to many people there is an attempt to redeem him in the viewers' eyes
I haven't watched Elite for a while so I might be wrong at some points but this is basically what happened
The way I was so focused on how much season 4 ruined Omar and ander's relationship and Guzman's development, that I didn't realize it was worse than I thought
genuinely
season 1 was some genuinely great mystery tv. the way ep1 showed us that marina was the victim but was also the nicest and liked by everyone; slowly evolving until everyone had a reason to kill her by the finale was really good writing.
then season 2 was pretty good too, delving further into the themes of class disparity and the messed up justice system that favors the rich and exploring the effect of marina's murder to the rest (and the new students introduced were again emphasizing the themes, for eg: cayetana pretending to be rich).
the 3rd season wasn't GREAT but at least was a good enough conclusion for the whole marina storyline.
after that, not only has the quality dropped but they've completely lost the core themes of the show too! they don't even address the themes of class and discrimination as much anymore it's just murder and parties and nothing else. the show has become a parody of itself.
Seasons 4&5 should've never been made
true
season 3 is the best one
What is the point of continuing to film a show if the writing and plots don't follow the structure of the previous seasons that were well received?
all tv show writers care about these days is money 😔
@@hattarapilvi Well money is important, the problem is that they aren't willing to put in the work for said money.
In season 4, very few people cared about Ari. So hardly anyone cared who did it. Unlike, in season 1, we as audience, we felt connected and involved in Marina's life. We cared for her, which all the more added to the mystery and curiosity.
Elite for me ended in season 3 when Ester exposito, Danna paola and jorge lópez left the show. Now is just madness going on lol
No other in season 4 and above can match Carla. She's the definition of Elite. No one can change my mind.
For me it was Guzman and Nadia.
she not even all that
Almost every character was more interesting than her. She only got interesting in season 3
Carla and Samuel >>>
@@thelegacyofgaming2928nadia is not even an elite. She's a very good character but nowhere how the elites are in real life
The introduction of Isadora reminds me of that bit in 'The Room' where one of the actors left early, so they gave his part in a scene to this random new character who appears completely out of nowhere and acts like he's been there the whole time.
In season 5 it was ridiculous.
its legit hypocrital because in season one nadia wasnt allowed to wear her hijab which was a part of her religion ' no hats allowed " but by seaon 3 rebe pops up with a hat and the dress code be getting sadder and sadder . like your allowed to dress like you work on the streets but not wear something to your religion . also bengi was said to inforced stricter rules but kids stilled looked like hookers , espuically his own daughter who is never seen in something modest ( its her own body yes but theres a time and place for everything but she was writen by men so
even the multiple changes of principals is no excuse for the fact that nadia isnt allowed to wear a hijab in s1 but cloe can walk around in nothing but a bra and a blazer in s7.... sure
The Felipe storyline is even more insane when you think about him attempting to assault Cayetana in the limo.
They Ruined Andar and Omar. Kept breaking up and getting back together.
Once Guzman and Nadia ended so did me and the show
Very true
Ari never happened for me. God she annoyed me to my core.
I wanted Nadia and Guzman to have a happy ending together once they sent her away I stopped
Everything went downhill after polo died and carla, lu and nadia left.
In my opinion it should've just ended there. They just milked the crap out of that show for money.
these are my issues with this show:
-Why does someone need to get killed almost every season?
-Why are there so many sexual scenes? Especially since they're supposed to be minors??
-Bad storyline, coming up with something new every season even though nothing makes sense
-Normalizing cheating on your partner (A lot of modern shows do this tbh)
I've been watching this show for a few years and would be so excited if a new season came out, but it just doesn't feel the same anymore after season 3.
To me it does make sense that they kill someone almost every season, because that is just the premise of the show; a murder mystery. The murder’s should have just made more sense and be interconnected from the fourth season onwards. Marina’s and Polo’s deaths actually made sense being connected, the rest just really didn’t
Man you are underrated.I agree with you, they should have stopped

@@jupitersecIipse damn couldn't have said it any better. S4 had nothing to do with developing characters anymore, way too shallow.
Caye should have been with Isadora at the police station, not F*cking Felipe.
i
I saw these seasons a long ago, so I don't remember it 100%, but I think in season 4 and at the beginning of the 5 they didn't confirm if he was a victim or a real abuser.
I don't understand the point of all of this.
i agree that its interesting and important to show characters like this! the writers just handled it really badly in the end
I loved the first two seasons bc of Carla, Nadia and Lu, then it just got stale 🤭
Hell, i didnt even know it was a murder mystery until two months ago when I was forced to watch one episode.

season 6 didn’t have that many sex scenes
This needs a update after season 8
So, I just finished season 6. They handled the Isadora storyline well enough, but it was very graphic with both sexual assault and a gay bashing and I found it triggering. I agree ELITÉ devolved into a basic drama for the sake of nonsensical drama telenovela.
They literally pose the question of "if you can't forgive your r4pist friend what do you suggest?? He sucidar himself?"
I found that disturbing as well. Like not wanting to be friends with a rapist who helped cover up the crime makes you a bad person WTF

@@sofiam.8474 yea me too! tbh I mostly enjoyed it bc I was rooting for Isadora but the ending?????? the ENDING was what really ruined it for me, it's like that other show "star" where they ended the show off with a shooting
Let me see if I got it right, there was NO mystery, NO murder and NO betrayal aside from love triangles in season 4? Thank God I didn't watch it
A little summary of elite seasons:
season 1: great
season 2: good
season 3: meh
season 4: wtf
season 5: WTF
season 6: wait, there's a season 6??
upcoming season 7: ok stop. just STOP.
The biggest question is why Samuel is still in highschool??
Logically he should’ve lost his scholarship after the initial years, it just seems weird to me that they would extend his scholarship at Las Encinas after he was held back a year. It’s just dumb loopholes they didn’t fix because they needed to keep him around for two more seasons
I literally can’t be bothered to watch season 5. Season 4 felt wayyyy too long
there's a season 6 now 😭
frr 😭😭🥴
I feel like season 4 is them just adding a bunch of new pretty people to change the cast , a lot of sex , parties , drugs uninteresting plot disappointed . I tried season 6 but I can’t get into it tbh for me the decline started season 3 really it was meh
they're not even pretty imo 🥶🥶
I’ve never watched Elite, I’m just here for the essay but now I’m like “why’s there so much incest?????”
This is like the spanish riverdale..it's so redundant at this point
Nadia and Guzman were my favorite. Then Carla and Samuel were broken up. Then they killed Samuel 😢It just keeps getting worse
Season 3 was the natural ending. Everything after that it's unnecesary.
you are so underrated, i was expecting a lot more subs, you have great quality videos.
i watched the first 3 seasons when i was bored and i never got the hype but at least it was kinda enjoyable.
Let the old cast move on with their character development intact
dude i used to be a really big elite fan and i would keep up with the seasons releases, so i was pretty excited when season 4 came out bc although a lot of the loved characters left, that usually doesn’t turn me away from the show and there were still a good amount of notable characters still there, but right off the bat i fucking hated it after loving seasons 1-3 and it’s still disappointing to me to this day.
the way that they kinda threw guzman and nadia’s relationship out the window with the introduction of ari was such a betrayal to me especially since they were such an iconic couple, and then the absolute betrayal with ander cheating on omar with patrick after everything they went through in their relationship with omar having to hide his sexuality bc his parents wouldn’t accept him, and the fact that they had to navigate through ander’s cancer diagnosis, like these new characters came in and fucked up the whole foundation of the show and it literally made me hate the new characters. there was also so many sex scenes and after a point they made me like so uncomfortable bc i was tired of seeing them at every turn. i couldn’t get past like ep 3 bc i felt just in that time the writers ruined the show
edit: i also forgot to mention they have those little short stories. don’t sleep on the actual good ones bc that cayetana, rebeka, and guzmán short story had me laughing my fucking ass off like that one is literally so good
Philippe should’ve been the main villain😢
he's actually a villain irl lmao
@@ninalempicka2948 I know, but he wasn’t portrayed as such in the show
i couldn't stand this show past the point they made omar a cheater.
after Samuel died, and Rebbe and Omar just leaving without an explanation, I stopped watching. it was similar for me to how 13 Reasons Why ended. seasons 1 and 2 being the best.
The show started falling off after season 3 because the story is not growing. They are stuck in the same school and no logical story line. They should’ve make sequence stories with the original cast of what they’ve gone to after high school. They should highlight more matured story line with what they do in the future like career, family and who ended up together and so on… plus the new cast aren’t likable compared to the og.
seasons 7 and 8 were so good awful i didn’t know it could get any worse but wow
Benjamin family was the worst that happend to this show - all 3 kids played bad and characters were badly written.
Elite ended with season 3 to me.
Same
In Spain most of us don't like it, from season one, it was more of "basic straight rich ppl" show, cuz no one else was watching it, it was always considered as "lame" by most
S1-3 was nice
This show has strayed so far from what it originally started with. After the main cast left, they really should have ended it. These recent seasons are kinda boring and unnecessary, however I want to know how it ends, if this is the last season.
just finished watching season 7 in 2 days it’s so bad. i had to skip so many scenes becuz there was about 2 s3x scenes in every episode
Ehy they got rif of the og squad whyyyy
Season 4 was a big irritation. Unnecessary love triangles and the couples I rooted the most for, were the ones those were broken up
They dragged it out, they shouldve stopped at season 3
Thank you for bringing up and actually going into detail about the writers doing everything wrong about the topic of sexual assault!!
4,5,6 🚮
1,2,3 🤌🏼
I stopped after season 3 yeah. I started 4 but it was rough.
Season 1-3 was so good because the characters were connected. It should’ve end at S3. Something happened in the writing room in Season 4,5,6 because there is no real plot and so much unnecessary sex scenes. The relationship are rushed
Season 5 is in 5th position in terms of viewership in non - english series of netflix in 2022. Sex sells bro 🙄
