    The far best video on old volvo rear brake replacement. Perfect camera position, everything is clearly to see. I'm going to replace my brake pads on my 1996 volvo 940, now I feel ready, hope everything is going to be fine. Thank you!

    Have not installed rear pads on any of our Volvo's yet, glad I watched this or I would have been trying to remove the caliper like on the front axle. This video makes it look even easier to do.Thanks Robert!

    Thanks for the vid as always. Just got done replacing the rear pads on my '96 wagon. The pads and calipers were so rusted, I ended up having to take the caliper bolts out and swing it slightly out in order to get the pads out. Easy after that. Just have to be careful not to bend the steel brake line too much.

    Hi Robert just wanted to say thanks for your videos. 5 years ago I bought one of my boys a 98 S70 and with your help he’s still driving the car today. I’ve never had to take the car to the shop. Been able to trouble shoot and replace parts and what not myself. Sometimes I even try to talk and sound like you when my kid is watching me fix something. Ima pick up some pads this week for the back breaks and I’ll just get him to pass me whatever tool that might work instead of the right tool as long as it gets the job done it don’t really matter right.

    • @RobertDIY
      @RobertDIY  ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct. You can also pass the tools to him since he drives the car. 😉

    Good video Robert, the Right-hand side pads seem to wear down more than the left-hand side on my C70 coupe here in England.

    Thanks for the good instruction! Just to be shure that I understood the process: for only replacing the sensor it is NOT absolutely cecessary to remove the brake caliper and the brake disk, is it?

    Make sure to check the hardware before ordering pads. My pins were barely salvageable and one spring clip was missing. Ordered a hardware kit from ATE, stainless shims, and ended up having to get new rotors (excessive runout).

      I don't do Bosch. I usually do Volvo, Zimmerman, or Bilstein rotors and akebono pads.

      @ernestorosas1552 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm having the same exact issue when I replaced mine. I noticed it only starts to grind when I add the anti-rattle spring but, I'm thinking it might just be the brake pads since they're brand new. Did you ever figure it out?

    Hi Robert, I got a question. I hope you can understand it cause I'm from the Netherlands. I got a Volvo V70 classic from 1997 and it has a big problem. I was driving for a while and suddenly the car stopped and it was dead. The engine was off, and the power was gone. Even my hazerd lights didn't work. So I'd started the car with another battery from a running car and now my car is working fine, but I don't trust the car anymore. Do you have a idea what this could be?....

    • @RobertDIY
      @RobertDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Likely the battery cable is going bad.
