Hey Alex, thanks for the long-term review. It really helped. I think the best thing about the Cockpit is the flexibility and that it really shines the more attachments you add. However, the price is still pretty high especially considering that every attachment isn't fairly cheap either considering that there are cheaper alternatives if you bought them as separate products.
I've watched too many setup videos to count in the last 48 hours and I can't tell you how happy I am you gave us the measurements of your desk. You would think that was an obvious detail but you'd be surprised how many creators forget to give dimensions. Then I have to resort to telepathy to determine if it would be a good fit for my desk. Also, your voice and editing style is very calming. I've been staring at my screen for wayy too long trying to make a decision. It's nice to have a relaxing change of pace. Thanks again for the accurate review. Especially the measurements.
@@alex.oneill I own the Apple Studio Display with regular stand (only tilt) and wanted to see if my MacBook Air on the riser would sit side by side. The ASD is 13cm from desk to screen (not to the bezel). So, just about but the laptop would sit around 2cm lower. My OCD is pushing hard for same level. Thanks a lot.
@beltrangarrote1982 ok I get you, the bottom of the screen on my MacBook Pro 13inch is 9cm from the top of the balolo shelf, so if you put your studio display stand on the shelf the screen will probably be a few centimetres above the bottom of the laptop screen and I agree that could be annoying for OCD
How deep are the two supporting black pieces of wood underneath? I understand the whole thing is 23cm deep but it seems like they are inset slightly. Just trying to figure out if i could fit this on my desk
Good question, so the shelf is 23cm deep and the support on either side is 20cm deep they are fixed centrally so there is 1.5cm overhang at the front and back. Hope that makes sense!
Thanks for a great review. The one thing I can’t find in any review of this is if the MacStudio fits and you’re the only one that mentioned it! I’ll definitely get this fo my new MacStudio setup.
You wouldn’t be able to do the laptop riser that I have because it would sit in front of one of the monitors. They have another laptop stand option that you could use but the laptop has to be in clamshell mode for it 👌
Hi Alex. After watching this video bud, I’m about buying it. I really liked you desk set u p. I have mine with IKEA shelves and if I upgrade the shelve with this one it will completely change the view of my set up. I checked on Amazon but it’s not available. Now I clicked on your link for the 10% and It’s good to buy it. I’m going to study the measurements which one it will fit better, I have a 24” monitor and 2 Bose speaks on each side probably the 114 cm + the large tray + the larger laptop riser😊let me check all that😊I’m excited now. Thank you Alex ❤liked your review😊
Hi Alex, Just to say that after watching your video of your new desk up I liked so much your new upgrade with the balollo shelf, therefore, I bought it with your link 10%off. when I received it I had a surprise with one of the legs of the cockpit shelf that came with a scratch then I made another purchase buying a tray and had another surprise, it came with two scratches on the back of it. I made a complaint to them but they only said, “Sorry…..” I asked to get in touch with the manager about a week or so and still have not heard from him/her. I am so sorry the purchase I made with them. It is not what I thought Balollo was. I am very disappointed. I just wanted to let you know that they are very irresponsible, there is no quality control of their products. Thank you for taking the time to read this sadly comment 😢 German
Hey, I checked their products out but with all due respect, in my opinion they offer the most impractical, and overpriced products I’ve ever seen. $149 AUD for a laptop dock that isn’t actually a dock? It’s a stand. I honestly don’t understand because there are far better looking, more practical, and minimalist products on the market.
Beware that the quality is a bit lacking for the price..... Desk cockpit is made from plywood and mine had large gaps in the edges (lower quality plywood). No account option on the website so no way to leave a review after their e-mail token expires for reviews after just a few days. And the magsafe holder design is also severly lacking with a base that is too short to get the angle you might need, no option to use it on the ends of the cockpit and it's also too low to swivel your phone at a decent angle when placed horizontally. A company that mainly uses influencer marketing instead of focussing on design and better quality....

Thank you! Yeah definitely down to personal preference, I like having all the part together but they are quite expensive
@@alex.oneillagreed!
I used your code and bought the walnut cockpit after watching your review. Thanks so much!
Thank you! Hope you like it, still love mine!
Very cool. Is that the glowing stone from Temple of Doom?
Great vid. Question for you, how do you hide your cords with this setup?
Thanks! I use the Fully Jarvis cable management kit and then stick any loose cables to the underside of the desk with 3M cable clips

What a nice comment! Glad I could help 🙌
Can you do a long-term review of the fully desk? (wobble)
Yes thats something I might do. The wobble isn't an issue at all, once the desk set into the carpet it has been very stable!
What height from the Balolo table sits the lower part of the laptop screen mounted on the laptop riser?
There’s only about 3cm in the difference. The end of the riser is around 9cm off the desk and the shelf is around 12cm high 👌

What color is your desk riser in the video? looks great!
Thanks, it’s the American walnut finish 👌

Hello, I wanted to know if the laptop stand can be rotated easily if you put it near one of the legs of the desk. Thanks
No, its fixed in place so you can't really rotate it.
@@alex.oneill My question is if you fix the laptop stand as close to a leg of the desk, can it be oriented or does the leg not leave it?
Sorry, Yes I have my stand as close to the legs as possible and I am able to angle the stand towards me.
Is it possible to put on a 34“ widescreen on the balolo with the notebook stand?
The laptop riser that I have in this video? No probably not, they would overlap unless you moved the stand way off to one side.
Thanks for a great review. The one thing I can’t find in any review of this is if the MacStudio fits and you’re the only one that mentioned it! I’ll definitely get this fo my new MacStudio setup.
Glad it could help! Just double checked there and the height is exactly 10cm from desk to underside of the setup cockpit so it should fit ok!
Great video Alex! Is it possible to do the laptop stand with 2x 27 inch panels? Or is that too tight?
Thank you! I think you could get away with two monitors on it, the website says the large shelf is made for two monitors 👌
@@alex.oneill but can you do two monitors AND a laptop stand? Like is there enough room?

@@alex.oneill perfect thanks for the info!
Does MS master mouse interference with the tray when you push pad under cockpit?
Haha I just tested it out and it fits under it perfectly, with about 5mm to spare 👌
@@alex.oneill thanks for information, it really helpful.
Of course, let me know if you need anything else!
