I also seen a bicycle tire pump push enough air to push out and release the piston.
So now all I am missing is a convenient air compressor and nozzle everyone keeps in the closet
Harbor freight will set you straight! Pretty cheap.
i been using this trick since forever. i keep a piece from bicycle rubber tube to wrap around the blower tip. makes things easier
It works great!
@@MattsShop ikr! it really does
Easier way leave the brake line attached and pump the brake,
will be messy tho
@@Exekutioncrowater could clean it up....
Just did this last weekend on my KLR, lost the rubber tip on my air nozzle, took a rag and covered the hole and jammed the air nozzle in there, it sealed enough to pop the piston out
Yup! It works perfect!
This is actually working the best thanks
I've got one so stuck this trick doesn't work. Any other ideas? I've given up on the piston but I'm hoping I can save the caliper itself.
Adapt a grease gun to the fitting hole and seal everything up with bolts. Pump it full of grease. It'll put a couple 1000PSI behind it and pop it out. Put a metal bar so the piston doesn't fly out. BE CAREFUL!!! Watch your eyes, fingers, and don't let the grease inject under your skin.
How about you just leave the hose connected to the car and push the pedal down to push it out
@@seemaab then you gotta have a puddle of brake fluid you gotta deal with
@@LeftOverMacNCheese in a plastic tray
@@seemaab you do you bro, if you gonna go with that you have to reinstall the brake line, then you have to refill the brake fluid for it to work because you basically just took it off a moment ago and then you have to take it off again to refurbish the caliper.
You know Mechanic are too lazy to deal with all of that
Curious, my rear brakes just went out and the piston is out against the disc, wondering do I just need to order a new caliper or what
Hey Yall! Links in the description to brake caliper tools! FULL Video: th-cam.com/video/SjgMojUE8XU/w-d-xo.html
How do I put it back in? Same way it came out
What happens if the surface of the piston facing the brake pad gets scratched or damaged
So you dont need to buy new caliper if the piston comes out and the seals are intact? But you should clean them?
I do!
if youre already in there, just change them. Its your breakes after all
Ltz 250 caliper
Dude how do you put it in
Very carefully make sure it's straight, use a c-clamp.
I tried this trick and blew my finger off so thanks
I didn't tell you to do it. I told you how I did it. Are you trolling?
💀💀👍
@@MattsShop he actually did
