And FYI , Nepal was part of Aryavarta or even Hindostan !
And there was No India before 1947 , it was divided into Kingdoms , Nepal was one such Kingdoms !
And most of North which united under Gupta Empire in 200AD , then Mauryan Empire around 3000AD , and then After Islamic invasion Mughals around 1400 , then 1800 under British Empire !
And if it wasn't a United country in vedic period(around 300BC) then how come Our Pilgrimages are in different directions ???

It is very much possible that may be their grandfathers/mothers would have been such close friends and today, two sit together from two different nationalities, trying to be as polite as possible so that no war breaks out. The idea of comparing it is ridiculous. North Indian & Pakistani food is essentially the same.
Hyderabadi biryani is not North Indian and almost every one got it wrong. 😅
I would say the food of the Eastern Part of Pakistan has some very clear similarities to North Indian cuisine but not so much the western part, especially KPK whose cuisine is more closely interlinked with Afghanistan than India.
Pakistan is a big ass country, I've heard that Balochi food has some Iranian cuisine mixed in as well.
