LOL Vish reminds me of my Indian mother. Whenever we eat out or at someone's house and the food's mediocre, she's very disappointed and starts complaining about it after we leave. But when people eat at our house, everyone asks her to share her recipe or start a catering business because her food is just that good😂

My mum starts roasting folks on the spot if it's less than delicious.
But her food also hits super hard like crazy💀.
It took me 3 whole years of refining my hand and learning French techniques then implementing them to indian cuisine to surpass her slightly.
Sometimes pickiness can lead to some amazing things

Initially I felt like Vish was being overly critical, but in the the end it's clear that he knows how to cook and is perhaps a level beyond the other gentlemen
Vish’s naan looked the best ngl. I’m Kenyan 🇰🇪 and I’ve had many a butter chicken and naan in my day and his looked the best in terms of presentation. It was the most doughy, but I think that is favorable to mop up the sauce and chicken with from the dish.
As a Pakistani all their naans looked whack. None of them look good, vishs was ok.

@@rotisserie8444 What I was thinking is that naan is supposed to be thin, puffy and a bit crisp and that guys naan was soo thick.
Doughy implies that it's dense, which you can't really tell without a close-up. It was probably thick but airy inside, which is my favorite way of having naan since it lasts longer than thin naan.

Like so many recipes, butter chicken has so many variations and family tweaks. Like most comfort food, we prefer the taste of what our parents / grandparents made us.

My bf is Punjabi and he made a chili chicken and Kadai paneer sent from heaven, butter chicken is okay from restaurants but it's not usually authentic, full of cream and sugar, and not nearly as good as real Indian food, Indian cuisine is truly the best in my opinion

Nah he's Punjabi, as one myself that's the extent of flavorful Indian food for us 😂 Gujarat is pushing it tho. A tad too sweet for our palate. That's not to say there isn't good food in other parts of India. There definitely is, but it suits a very different palate. Punjabi food isn't everyday food for lots of people because it's too heavy on spices, but for us it's everyday food.

Butter Chicken with garlic naan is my death row meal. If I were ever waiting for the chair and they offered me last meal, I'm going for butter chicken, garlic naan, a mango lassi, and maybe some tandoori wings. (Edit: So funny dude said the same thing at the end, I typed mine before I watched the whole video. I'm with you brother.)

Wow!! Vish's food looked good! The naan actually looked like one! Everyone elses looked like roti! I thought that Butter Chicken has lots of tomatoes and cream in it though... How come everyones looked so different??
You’re supposed to cook down the tomatoes and a bit of onions until mostly dry, then blend them together and add heavy cream after. The sauce needs to simmer for awhile to release the flavor of all those spices.
@@deenikki9690 yes,I understand that much.. I'm no Indian food expert,but there are some things I know. Never cooked Butter Chicken,but know that every curry/gravy/masala has a base and needs to be cooked out properly and some kind of blending and simmering. The same with Caribbean food.
Different ratio of tomato and onions. I’m one of those home cooks whose food turns out different every single time and this includes butter chicken too 😂
The truth is, there if no universal recipe. Everyone cooks different, and everyone's taste is different as well. Most of us just learn from our parents or siblings, so there are always variations
