The SEK (Spezialeinsatzkomando) is the special police unit in the federal states. Each federal state has its own unit, so there are 16 of them throughout Germany. They are responsible for combating terrorism and serious crimes involving weapons. The German federal police have their own special unit, the GSG9, which is much better known. These guys take on missions throughout Germany and abroad, although the Sek are only responsible for the respective federal states.
Best answer ever to descripe the difference between GSG 9 and SEK of the federal Rebulics of Germany. GSG 9 is reponsive for high risk law enforcement, Counter terrorism inside the country
@@Klausi-uq4xq And outside, remember Mogadishu, their first mission
Maybe to add: While the GSG9 has an excellent reputation, many SEK units have a rather questionable one. The requirements for the GSG9 are very strict - not only physically and mentally but also ideologically. It seems that that might not be the case with some of the SEK units, which is why there were (and probably still are) some problems with for example right wing ideology and such.
Edit because I think it's a bit funny: GSG9 and SEK units also seem to look different physically. You did see these big muscular SEK guys training. If you watch the GSG9 video - which I do recommend - you'll see that they look way less bulky. And the same goes for KSK guys. They're muscular where it matters and their physique is leaning more towards efficiency effectiveness rather than "looking impressive".
@@Far1988The SEK’s reputation is mostly tarnished by people, who themselves came into conflict with the law, as well as some left wing ideologs. The same who can the German military murderers.
@@Far1988 funny enough especially the Berlin SEK is held in pretty high regard because of their experience (highest number of calls for any of the 17 units).
Just to help, here is the translation of the German text at the beginning.
"On 5 September 1972, eight Palestinian terrorists attacked the Israeli team at the Olympic Games in Munich.
Two athletes were shot dead in the attack and nine others were taken hostage.
All nine members of the team, a policeman and five of the eight terrorists were killed during a rescue attempt.
As a result, the German government at the time ordered the formation of an anti-terrorist unit - the GSG9.
In the same year, the police forces of the federal states were asked to set up similar units.
A special unit was set up in Berlin on 11 November 1972 and now carries out over 500 missions a year.
The Special Operations Command Berlin."
You can look the weapons up.
Pistols
Glock 17, H&K VP9, H&K P30, SIG P226, SIG P228 and Korth type revolvers.
Rifles and MP
MP5, MP7, UMP, G36, FN SCAR Mk16, FN SCAR Mk17, Steyr AUG, Haenel CR223, SIG Sauer MCX and H&K PSG1
All used by german SEK and there are more SEK teams then one.
MP7 is the best
The precision rifle in the video is no PSG-1 though. It has more of a AWP/L96 Shape and may therefore be a G 22 (german designation of Accuracy internationals rifle)
I thought that was an mcx! My guess is 556?
Police snipers are usually referred to as "Präzisionsschützen" (precision marksmen), and their mission profile is a bit different from that of military snipers. If push comes to shove, they are expected to hit the brain stem of a target at a distance of a few hundred meters, ten out of ten times to avoid involuntary weaponm discharges upon death.
The “final rescue shot” was ordered for the first time in Hamburg in 1974. (MEK = mobile task force). The legal basis for this was created the year before.
3:25 SIG Sauer MCX Ver 2 (used since 2017) - special produced for police units
The sandy color rifle is a SIG MCX with a special stock for enough clearance in case the huge helmet visor is lowered. It still is pretty accurate to shoot as good red dots won't have any parallax issues.
The sniper rifle is a Accurcy International AW in 7,62x51. The iconic AWP from all the video games.
you really have to check out the german GSG9 which is the more "elite" german police unit (they have a 50th aniversary video as well) as well as the german Kampfschwimmer (german military maritime sf)
Don't forget the KSK Elite Commando. They are pretty much top notch hard ass mothafuckas. Like the American Navy Seals or Delta Force. There are not many possibilities to ''climb'' higher in the ranks of German Police.
Since the GSG9 was foundet in 1972 I would guess, that either the video is already 2 years old, or it´s the 52nd anniversary.
The dip in the butt stock is to fit gear like a gas mask canister and still be able to get effective rounds on target. With most red dots if you do not have the same site picture the dot will not appear so you don't need "cheek-to-stock" to achieve proper site picture.
Rifle: Sig MCX / Pistol: Glock 17 / Sniper: G22
The Boots are Lowa Zephyr Gtx, very good tactical boots
Just looked them up they are so nice! Might have to get myself some!
I've been using my Lowa Zephyrs for years in airsoft, and at my job in a hospital, they are super comfy. Wearing them rn lol @OriginalHuman
Yup, germans, austrians, netherlands seem to like and use more LOWE Zephyrs by my opinion, as the brits, americans love the Salomons more to this day
@@atanaskumanov86 I'm from the US and love my Lowe
The legend says, that SEK Policemen can punch a hole in the middle of a 5 Deutsche Mark coin behind a lit candle at 600ft of range without extinguishing the fire.....
5:13 shoes: Lowa Zephyr MK2 Mid
The SEK is used at Calls like a Hostage situation but when there is like a escaped Convict then the German MEK is called
Regarding their Equipment:
Wikipedia:
Compared to the patrol police, SEK have more extensive equipment, which consists, for example, of a bullet-resistant vest weighing up to 15 kg with stab protection, a balaclava and a ballistic helmet. Some of the bag equipment includes a breathing mask, a radio, a watch and a multi-purpose knife. Pistols from the manufacturers Glock, Sig-Sauer, Heckler & Koch and Walther (for example Walther P99) are common. Submachine guns such as the HK MP5 and the HK MP7 are also often used. Assault and sniper rifles, such as the Steyr AUG at the SEK Südbayern,[13] are also kept in stock. Repeating shotguns are used with special ammunition to open doors, but also with shotgun bullets against an armed criminal wearing a protective vest. The units also have other equipment such as ballistic shields, electrical impulse devices and explosives for penetrating buildings. -- translated by google
3:24 HK416:
Caliber: 5.56 × 45 mm NATO
Operating System: Gas-operated with a short-stroke gas piston and rotating bolt

Modular Design: Allows for the attachment of various accessories, such as optics, lights, and sights
I was waiting for this for ages!
SEK - Guns
Pistols from the manufacturers Glock, Sig-Sauer, Heckler & Koch and Walther (for example Walther P99) are common. In addition, submachine guns such as the HK MP5 and the HK MP7 are often used. Storm and sniper rifles, such as the Steyr AUG at SEK Munich, are also held.
Greetings from Germany👋🏽
The stock is shaped that way so you can aim with the face shield down.
I had the misfortune to work with the SEK. They are amazing and I am absolutly glad we have em

We have 16 federal states in Germany. (like "Bayern" or "Nordrhein-Westfalen") Each federal state has its own state police department and its own state special operations team S.E-K. (like Sonder.Einsatz.Kommando.). We also have a customs special operations command called the G.S.G.9. (like Grenz.Schutz.Gruppe.9) This special unit is a direct state affair and is not subordinate to the 16 single federal states of the german "Bundesrepublik." (like United Satates, we have in Germany a Country Police Special Forces = S.E.K. and a State Police Special Force = G.S.G.9.)
It's Spezial.Einsatz.Kommando :)
Rifle sig sauer mcx and pistol glock 17 with gtl laser/light weapons from sek/swat berlin Every city has almost different assault rifles such as HK 416 like CAG
The sniper rifle is a G22, built by accuracy international ltd uk.
Looks like they had an MP7 as well in the end when they were walking towards the camera , but it’s a Glock and Sig MCX spear (the tan rifle)
The MP7 is now being rolled out in most federal states as a replacement for the outdated MP5. In Brandenburg, the federal state that surrounds Berlin, the MP7 has already been introduced.
If you want to see more of the german police force I’d recommend you watch the video “Mobiles Einsatzkommando des BKA”. It’s about the MEK. It’s similar to the SEK but its main task is observation rather than actually arresting the suspect which usually the SEK would do. Still the MEK would be able to apprehend the suspect too
A close friend of mine works as a fitter all over Germany. When he was working in a steelworks a few months ago, his factory building was also stormed by the SEK... in full equipment, with stun grenades and everything that goes with it. It then turned out that these SEK police officers were looking for my buddy's boss because of some things he was supposed to have committed, but he wasn't there 😆...my buddy almost pooped his pants when he realized that someone points a gun at him and shouts at him
CQB version of the HK416 so its a Assault Rifle and not a Smg
and its a sight not a scope a red dote to be precise
Now you have to react to EKO Cobra and Jagdkommando ;)
Sascha Huber has 3 videos where he accompanied the Jagdkommando for a day ("1 Tag beim Jagdkommando")
Looks like a Sig rifle with a stock made to assist in shooting with a gas mask or face shield on the helmet (either riot or ballistic). Pistol looked like a Glock 17.
Nice vid! Check out the Belgian DSU, you will love their gear!
6:47 First I thought it's a HK PSG-1, modified, as it was THE police sniper rifle. But as a special force they could also have the military variant HK MSG90 with a 5-round police-magazine? Idk... Nowadays a G22, G27, G29 is more likely. That's at least what one can find on the German Wikipedia page.
@OrignalHuman look up Israely Olympia killings 1972 Germany, that was when Germany was caught with their pants down, because they had no special forces for such cases. That was when GSG9 was founded, which is a special commando police force that can and will, do missions outside of Germany, and as their first mission, they freed an abducted airplane 1977 in Mogadishu. That operation was so good, nobody ever said anything against German Police anymore, because they can fuck you up, even in an Airplane, which is the hardest mission you could think of.
That said, we needed not only a Special Police Force for outside Germany, also for INSIDE (reason is WW2, no military or military like troops inside Germany, for reasons you should know...). That was when the "Special Command" was founded for operations, inside Germany. They are like SWAT or SCO19. Highly trained, not to fuck with, license to lay you down into the ground without questions asked. Which is not used always, because reasonable forces are used, but they could ...
The rifle you liked at 4:00 is a special version of the G36, G36KV - KV is standing for "Short Version" or Kurze Version in German, plus optical addons. They also have the Haenel CR 223 in their inventory, an AR-15 style rifle.
Funfact on the Boots: It's Addidas, no joke, you can buy them for 150 Euros.
The Pistol could be the H&K P7 successor: H&K SFP9
Sniper rifle looked like the Haenel G29/RS9 - .338 Lapua Magnum, 10 shots, don't stand in it's way, 6600J muzzle energy. They also have the G29 from Accuracy International in their inventory and share it with the military.
So yeah, the equipment is top notch most of the time.
The SEK in Berlin is using a variant of Sig Sauer MCX
The rifle you paused on, was a LEGO rifle. 😎👍
That is the goofiest looking MCX being run by the scariest looking German lol
The stock on the gun is like that because of his visor
SEK = Sondereinsatzkommando = in english, special operations team. And they were founded after the 1972 olympic terrorist act in Munich, Germany. To try to prevent with the best abilities such events from happening again. Greetings from Germany.
There is a kind of similar vid from the german federal special forces gsg9 called "Bundespolizei | 50 Jahre GSG9" if you are interested (english subtext)
They wear Lowa Boots Model Zephyr GTX TF ! 👍
id love to see you reacting to the jagdkommando (austrian military sf) abd the EKO Cobra (police SF)
4:20 is that perhaps a modified MP5? i don't know. I'm not a weapons expert. But just because it's so small.
Thats from the GSG9 website:
In order to be one of the best special forces in the world, a constant dialogue with various national and international units is necessary. Various networks have been created over the years to guarantee this dialogue. Nationally, these are the so-called Northern Network and the Southern Network. These networks include the respective special task forces of the federal states and the GSG 9.
Internationally, the Atlas Co-operation was founded for this purpose at European level. Significant workshops and large-scale exercises take place annually in this network in order to maintain regular dialogue with the international partner units. The co-operation agreement also allows for material and personnel deployment support.
In addition, the GSG 9 maintains comradely contacts with individual units from other countries, in particular in the USA with the US Navy Seals, Delta, HRT of the FBI, but also with the Israeli Yamam.
They are so well equipped since its berlins own sek. Most of the states in germany dont set as high of an priority on equipment since the sek mainly does arrests that are too dangerous for normal police officers like if someone runs around with an axe. Of course they are very well trained but there's not really a lot of intensive "missions"
The weapons are the least interesting part of the story. Much more interesting but probably hard to film (or may be forbidden) are the team tactics. The SEK teams are extremely well trained for missions which are executed eith great precision and max speed. They act so fast that most missions last only seconds and the overwhelming number ends without any casualties and without any usage of weapons.
I just checked, in 2023 they were called in for 126 missions in our state of Saxony-Anhalt and as far as I could research it there were 0 (zero) casualties.
The shape of the stock is probably for use with the faceshield or a gasmask. I imagine you can't rest your cheek on a stock with a faceshield like that anyways, it already sucks with a gasmask i can say as much.
VP9 Handgun, MCX Rifle
Weapons: Glock 17, M4 carbine, G36C, and a Oris T 5000
A submachine gun shoots pistol rounds . For example, 9mm, 10mm,
.45 acp. Not rifle ammo.
3:41 this is probably a "sig mcx". At least this is used (according to wikipedia) by the police in berlin
sig mcx spear lt is the gun
I think the sniper is a Accuracy international AT308
It’s definitely an AT 308
Maybe you could react to the gsg9 (a special unit from the bundespolizei) and the Kampfschwimmer (a special unit from the bundeswehr).
The German police have the SEK and the MEK (ok and the GSG-9
6:46 Accuracy International G22A2 Sniper Rifle (British product)
sniper rifle: G22 from Accuracy
I think you'd really enjoy the documetary about the swiss special forces, AAD10, as far as I know there are english subtitles.
Great video as always, keep up the good work
It's a good hype video.
Check out the GSG9 anniversary videos they are crazy and the video is hype
The automatic translated english wrote i want to see more of the gay instead of gear😂😂😂😂😂 i was lying on the floor❤
The Rifle was a Sig Sauer MCX, could be 5.56 but I think they also have .300 Balckout.
It’s a full on Rifle, not meant as a Submachinegun.
The Stock is weirdly shaped like this cause they have to use it with the Faceshield on, what wouldn’t be possible with a normal stock.
The pistol was a Glock.
ah yes, the polese berlin, love it.
The german special police forces have a wide range of weponary. As far as i know.
A lot of the guns are German Hekler und koch
It looks like an AWP 6:22
