- Hi, in this video we show you where the problem is if you notice an exhaust or diesel smell in the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. Of course, under the condition that there is no problem with the diesel hoses, leaking diesel filter etc.
The search for the problem took many times longer than solving it. But is usually so ;)
Have fun watching and a nice Easter Sunday,
Peter & Nadja

Thank you so much, had exact same problem & fixed following your steps. Added another nut on the existing nut to stop it from coming lose again. Good work guys!
Hey, glad this helped you out! Best, Peter ☺️
Got this smell in the cabin. Will give this a go and hopefully sort the problem, thanks.
well done, very common problem in some units of this engine, in addition to the timing chain and oil dilution problems with diesel
Hi Jose and sorry for the late reply! I think the timing chain is one of the biggest problems on the ingenium engines. Too bad actually, because from the pulling power, consumption and CO2 values, the engine is not bad in my opinion! Greetings, Peter
had the same issue, was 3 manifold studs sheared, so engine out and very expensive
I have this problem intermitently but more regular now, lots of fumes now escaping through air vents in bonnets. Very few mechanics seem to be able to help without eanting to replace entire exhaust system
Right im about to try this right now 😊
Awesome!
Could this cause intermittent smoke also?
Hey, yes there could be smoke coming out of this location as well. In our Evoque, the fender was completely crusty and black. Greetings, Peter
@@notthatkindofachannel thanks for the reply, really helpful video 👌👍
Thanks! My heat shield was completely black and had layers of grime and soot on it. Cleaned the shield and tightened the (very) loose nut. Fingers crossed it stops smelling. On a side note, my nut‘s thread didn't "extend upwards" like yours, but downwards, which made tightening quite hard. This may be down to a previous engine change. Either way, very helpful!
Thank you so much
I have same issue before watch this video I left my car in garage hopefully I will not get massive bill for this simple Job 😂
My heat shield is black.. but even tho i tightened the nut.. i can still smell fumes.. so i guess the problem is deeper 😕
Is the clamp that surrounds the pipe ok? If it has become deformed or enlarged, the two pieces are no longer connected correctly and something is still leaking out.
@@notthatkindofachannel just an update.. i had it fixed by specialist.. it was the injectors 3 and 4 were blowing.. and a few seels and washers replaced
👍 Thanks for the update! Hope your experience helps someone else. Glad to hear the issue got resolved. Safe travels!
