Yeah apparently there’s another level above your average counsellor/psychologist/whatever and they’re called supervisors and also known as mothers or fathers. You can become one either by training to be one and receiving the qualification or you can become one if you’ve been a counsellor/psychologist etc for like 20 years I think it is. And they also have to go and see their supervisors and they have to see there’s and so on. I think they’re allowed to disclose some details of their clients as well as it’s partly for their sanity but also partly to help ease some cases that might be troubling them or they’re finding difficult. I’m actually not doing what they did in the video, I took an introductory course in counselling and that was in it. I can’t remember all the details and may have got some of that wrong but yeah that’s how I remember it 😂
@@wilsonspaints1169 A supervisor is a psychologist/counselor or clinical social worker who has been certified by the state to oversee work done by student interns or candidates for licensure. Once you are licensed you can consult with other professionals but not to the same extent an intern or candidate does and many licensed professionals still seek counselors themselves as its helpful to discuss what is encountered with working with clients with someone else who understands. I am currently finishing my Graduate internship to become a licensed Clinical Mental Health counselor. This is how it normally goes with me, when I notice someone being what I would consider to be crazy. "I don't know what is wrong with you, I do know you are messed up though. You need to seek professional help before you become the next school shooter." And there are a A LOT of people who need help and don't even realize it.
Daniel Duncan that’s actually not a good way to put it. They could become defensive since you’re insulting them in a way and be even more reluctant to get help. You’re placing all the blame on them and telling them that something is wrong with them and they’re messed up and saying that they’ll be the next school shooter if they don’t decide to get help. Which puts that idea in their head, which makes it even more likely for them to become the next school shooter. Instead, tell them something like “it seems like you’re having a rough time. You might want to consider getting some professional help before you let your emotions get out of control.” Also, everyone can be crazy sometimes. For most people it’s due to temporary but powerful emotional outbursts that they act on.
I mean... it IS a joke, its not really real lol The wage gap is barely even relevant nowadays. In most developed countries it sits at a low single digit number that keeps decreasing with time, it even inverses in some age ranges (like young women making more on average than young males the same age). The high number used in the sketch is simply the average earnings of men and women working fulltime, it does not account for different job positions, hours worked, or different jobs, making it completely useless as a statistic :D
The whole man bit at the end kind of struck me as relatable, and honestly, it’s because (not in a sexist way) I’ve had to switch therapists a lot because of moving and stuff, and for some reason, the female ones sucked. I knew one named Carolyn, and she would shout me down and argue with me about things that are not arguable (“I was never friends with Rory” “ugh, why do you always have to argue with me!? I’m an adult!!”) and this one who was constantly interrupting me and rolling her eyes and telling me to shut up (like come on I could be telling YOU to knock off the attitude if I wasn’t a freshman in high school) and this really condescending, skeptical, argumentative one who wasn’t as bad as the others named Kate. But for some weird reason, every male therapist I’ve had was awesome. I knew this one guy, like, you know how adult men try to like talk like they did when they were kids when they’re around kids, but however, he was cool. He was like the best. He was always giving compliments and he was one of the most caring and understanding people I know. He didn’t ever raise his voice, which was something female therapists struggled with for some reason, and he had that kind of smile that implied he was enjoying his conversation (not arms crossed looks like they’re about to smack you) and it was great. I had another therapist named Kurt, and he was really cool. He used the internet more than most adults, which made it easy to talk to him, and he would play chess with me while we talked, which was fun, and most importantly, when I got into an argument with him once, HE APOLOGIZED. I was so surprised because when Carolyn would say something like “the earth is flat” and I say shit about it, she would just do that thing where you lean in, pinch your forefinger and thumb together, and talk like a celebrity who won’t get a discount at Starbucks because they’re a celebrity while saying “you do not talk to me that way. I am an ADULT.” And don’t even get me started about how great that last guy was. Honestly, I just think male therapists are just better
I know it's 3 years later but if anyone's interested, when Brennan brings up "the elaborate network of ghosts that constitute our human emotional vortex" he's poking fun at Scientologist beliefs

Which puts that idea in their head, which makes it even more likely for them to become the next school shooter. Instead, tell them something like “it seems like you’re having a rough time. You might want to consider getting some professional help before you let your emotions get out of control.”
Also, everyone can be crazy sometimes. For most people it’s due to temporary but powerful emotional outbursts that they act on.
A "feeling"
Brennan's voice is so soothing. That guy needs to do an ASMR and put me to sleep 🌝
It always amazes me how you guys are able to put just the right amount of bite on something true. Wage gap humor ftw.
I mean... it IS a joke, its not really real lol
The wage gap is barely even relevant nowadays.

Internet Explorer - I think TH-cam is not for you.
I feel like they're each learning so much from each other.
You really nailed the exit to that skit. Very good
Is Katy still a transgender Pac-man thing?
I know it's 3 years later but if anyone's interested, when Brennan brings up "the elaborate network of ghosts that constitute our human emotional vortex" he's poking fun at Scientologist beliefs
I’m an expert at loneliness so ha ha (sniffles) (cries)
I'm not an expert who is an expert on reading people who claim to be experts of being non-experts while being told they are experts of not being experts.
“Feel free to put me in my little place” poetry
I swear if I see another comment about the wage gap joke in the end
bring zac back
This video is something about ghosts and gems and 75 dollars, wow
Love the writing on this one, Ally :)
Why do I feel like the entire sketch was just a setup for the last punchline???
