My ex's father passed away while on a Mediterranean cruise. They offloaded him in Italy and flew him back to Canada. At least he died doing what he loved!
I was once on the Radiance when during karaoke, some woman was talking about wanting to sing Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On". I convinced her not to, saying it's "bad luck".
2nd-hand story: All ships have a morgue. A former coworker was a Windows NT administrator (shows how long ago it was) for a major cruise line. They had overbooked crew so he had to sleep for a couple nights on a cot in the morgue.
Our last cruise, in November 2024 on the Miracle, we got sideswiped by Hurricane Rafael. Had to skip port in Grabd Cayman. Then leaving Ocho Rios we were being chased by Tropical storm Sara. We watched it form. I have some gorgeous sunset videos. ❤❤
Carnival Celebration Oct 2024. At 3:00am in the morning there was an announcement that they needed passengers with a certain blood type. Heard that someone put their arm through the glass shower and died from blood loss.
Here is one to add to your list that we experienced: We were on the Wonder of the Seas for its first sailings in Europe, which included two separate two-day trade events. Both were supposed to be open bar for everyone. During the first event, it was indeed open bar, and the crowd was mostly younger Instagram influencers. They got so drunk that some ended up streaking through the casino and the Royal Promenade! For the second event, drinks were still free, but shots were off-limits this time. It was all in good fun, but seeing streakers was definitely a bit shocking!
Craziest story I ever heard was posted on Cruise Critic. A woman, who was blind, was ASSIGNED a roommate. (Does that even happen?) Her roommate decided to bring a starfish back on board and the roommate decided to store it in the shower. The starfish started to stink and she was complaining about it. Truth? Doubt it. But the details were astounding! IYKYK
On Mardi Gras last spring break there was a man and woman who were caught 💉drugs out on an open deck. They were secured to their cabin for the remainder of the sailing. I just can't imagine spending all that money for a cruise and then do something so stupid to get locked up for the remainder of the cruise!
I'm shocked Carnival was so strict with this, since they're usually the most lax with that stuff. While I personally don't mind the stank, and don't judge people who use it, it does give Carnival a bad reputation when they let it run rampant, so I'm glad to hear of them cracking down.
It wasn’t the stinky stuff. They injected narcotics on an open deck in front of people. I didn’t see it happen but did see security outside their cabin.
Carnival Radiance, just this past Halloween weekend. First night, I was eating in the MDR, when I heard the Maitre'D announce over the PA, "Is there a doctor or nurse in the house?" (Since this was Halloween night, and people were in costume, and some in the costumes of medical professionals, the Maitre'D had to emphasize "Not Halloween doctors.") Well, a couple tables over from me, someone was having a medical episode. At first, someone who carried themselves as if they were a medical professional by day responded. Then came the ship's medical team, who would haul the sick diner off. All the while, the service and the dinner in the MDR went on unabated, as if nothing was really going on, because Carnival runs a well-oiled machine. Later that night, the Coast Guard sent a helicopter from San Diego. I put two-and-two together, and figured this must have been for the sick passenger in the MDR; the medical team did all they could for them. Since the Carnival Radiance does not have a built-in helipad, the Coasties had to hover overhead and run a line down to the deck and winch the victim off the ship before flying them to get further treatment in California.

That's how I hope to go.
I was on the Spirit also when it hit an iceberg. The band started playing the song from Titanic.

@@stephancox9105 I sailed Holland earlier this year and they literally had Titanic as one of the free movie options. WTF, Holland?

Wow, I think I'd rather sleep on a lounger on the lido deck!
That was really fun to hear all the stories!
Yes!
My husband and I were on an MSC cruise when an employee either fell or jumped overboard. So sad.

I bet so

Def something you will remember!

Sometimes truth is crazier than fiction!⭐
Going on RC Liberty next July. Do you think labadee will be open as a stop? It is on our itinerary.

@ it was worse than the stinking stuff. They were injecting narcotics 😳 out on an open deck. 🤦🏼♀️

I've had a few medical emergencies on my cruises, and it's amazing how smooth they are with handling them, and doing it discreetly!
Cruisers not angry. Drunk!
That dang drink package strikes again!

Got 'em. Thanks.
Title should read “Every Day At CARNIVAL.”
Hahaha, I *love* Carnival, but no lies told...
