Very comprehensive. Your teacher skills really shined through on this video. Haven't been on Virgin yet, but eager to try the new dining experience they offer. Well Done!
One thing that you didn't mention regarding the "bar tab" on VV was that you can buy others a drink with it and not all sailors in the cabin need to pay for it! Also, the room service - yes, it is $10 but it is not free if you order an item that you pay for - it is now $5. Which is ok, since I order half a dozen cans of soda at no charge to keep in my fridge, which would cost $2.50 each on most other cruise lines. BTW - I gained about 5 pounds between the free charcuterie boards, the ice cream, and the pastries.
I mentioned that! At least the "not all cruisers in a room have to have it" part (at 12:20): th-cam.com/video/eCM9JckFH74/w-d-xo.html which for non-drinkers (like me) is a huge perk when sailing with folks who DO like the drink package.
@@ProfMelissa hahaha, I see the slight confusion... I could have used better words... "the person with the bar tab can use it to buy others a drink who may not have purchased it" would have been better. I think your words about not everyone having to buy it were in my head. I didn't purchase one and I am a heavier drinker, but the white Russian's I was drinking were only $11 each and I never would have used the entire tab, as a solo traveler. It is great that you gave VV a chance!
I think I mentioned this in the video, but this one was a solo cruise for me. Virgin really does a lot for solo cruisers beyond just some half hearted "solo cruiser meetup in some random bar" effort that most of the lines do.
The video was already long, so I omitted that part, but i will say that I HATE VV casinos. I like that they're non-smoking, but they're tiny, have limited games compared to the other lines and are tight, tight, tight. VV also hasn't figured out yet what the heck they're doing with their casino program, so that's a hot mess.
@ProfMelissa I don't play slots, table games only. Up 86k this year on carnival. Only get offers for Suites from carnival. See you in April on the Jubilee.

Aw thank you 😊
I have never cruised on Virgin but I will definitely plan one now. The information you gave is really good and helpful.
You're welcome

My wife and I love the idea of adults only! Thanks for the wealth of info. We are always so grateful 🌴
Aw, you're welcome! And yesss, while I love kids (usually), it's so much more enjoyable and relaxing to have an adults-only experience.
Would love to cruise on VV someday.🤗
I hope you get to someday!
Im traveling a lot but never did a cruise! Would like to try Virgin. I think I will try Solo.

I pre pay gratuities when the cruise line were raising the price so to lock in the lower price, I pre pay only then
True that this is a very valid instance and reason to prepay gratuities!
why do you wait to pay your Gratuities? if you pay them anyway? Just honestly curious.
Some people like to give more than the predetermined amount or use cash.
No Casino Info?

Whoa that’s impressive!! 😮
And yessss!
MSC cruises voyagers club is not accepted by Virgin's status match program... which is so weird
I wonder if it’s bc MSC is the only they line to offer status matching, and the don’t want to match off a match?
Only cruise company we cruise with
It’s a whole vibe 😁
