Great video. I can’t even imagine anyone getting bored on a ship. I’m a fairly active 70+ and I keep busy about 75-80% of the day on sea days. I enjoy the classes, game shows, trivia, comedians and of course the other shows. I LOVE to eat especially if I don’t have to cook or do the dishes. And someone else cleans my room. I even love the clubs and dancing. All of the above are included in my cruise fare. I don’t usually spend a lot so the trip is affordable. My biggest expense is usually the ports and I even pay for the excursions before the cruise. So not only a busy vacation but also see and do things on excursions that would otherwise be too expensive. ❤❤❤❤
In two weeks I'm solo cruising on the Carnival Sunshine. This will be my first cruise ever. I wanted to go to Fort Lauderdale and then a few days in Key West. Just the hotel room cost was about the same as the cruise including the Cheers package. That does not include the flights to south Florida or the food or the entertainment. I figure I'm saving at least $1500 with the cruise. I can't wait. My daily routine will be breakfast, gym, lunch, getting vitamin D and drinks in Serenity, Dinner, karaoke, nightclub and repeat! I'm getting dizzy just thinking about it!
I've heard people say that they refuse to live in a Petri dish. I totally disagree with this, as you can get sick anywhere you go, especially post covid. Hospitals, doctor's office, your work office, you can get sick anywhere but you still go there when you have to. In my opinion, the joy and excitement of being on a cruise ship is worth the risk of possibly getting sick.
I definitely prefer itineraries that feature more port days. RC has 10 day seasonal cruises from Galveston with 5 ports which is a great way to mix up port days and sea days.
NCL and Virgin are the 2 that actually focus on helping solo cruisers meet each other and socialize, but it really depends what you want. If you just want to lay by a pool MSC might be good, but I was bored out of my mind going solo on MSC Divina.
My husband and I love cruising. We’ve tried to get our friends interested in cruising, but several of them consider cruise ships as floating petrie dishes. 😳
If Mel's a casino goer it's understandable. My friend is a Vegas gambler who always uses the term investing for betting or even spending. It receives less judgement.

Love to see it!

Exactly. Like Ferris Bueller said "life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it".
Accurate. Great video
Thanks
14:15 "you can't exactly jump off"
People jump off MSC fairly regularly
But you're not supposed to.
The only cruise I've ever been on was with an interior cabin, but with my wife retiring, I'm considering a balcony cabin
Love a balcony especially for a celebration!

Getting the most while doing the most.
Hey prof, is carnival getting to be the wallmart of cruiselines. Ive heard they are getting bad
Could you please help with more information on solo cruising. Thanks 😁
What kind of info do you need?

Can you lure them in with a freebie casino offer? There's always room on the dark side.
good info, although I'm not sure why being a college professor is relevant
Because that's what I actually do and people ask?
Please dont use the word investment when speaking of cruises. Theres zero monetary return.
I beg to differ but go ahead.

It is an investment for me.
