@@johnnyxmusic it's interesting you mentioned the Les Paul's that Pete used in the late seventies. Those guitars were very odd - 2 mini humbuckers with a DiMarzio Super Distortion in the middle position - weird! I personally think the mini buckers are fantastic pickups but with that super distortion humbuckers in the middle - I would not want that. I'm pretty sure he had (2) three-way toggle switches as well. I love the giant numbers on the different Les Paul's!
@@fw5550 Yes, I don’t understand those guitars well enough to know exactly why he put that humbucker in the middle position when he could’ve had it installed anywhere… I don’t like the aesthetics of the humbucker in the middle of those too many hookers… Plus it’s right there where you’re trying to strum. But… That’s Pete. One guess might be that… Do you know Pete was really into the whole idea of volume and overtones and stuff… Maybe he found that he got a specific sound by having that hamburger in the middle or by using some combination of the pickups
@@johnnyxmusic I totally agree; I've always found middle position pickups to be in the way when I'm trying to strum. And I'm sure that you're right he probably was using the humbucker in the middle due to the odd combinations he could get with his 2 toggle switches. And absolutely Pete was always very interested and was on The cutting edge of what was going on in music (i.e. using synthesizers before everyone else) and the super distortion which is what he has in that guitar was very new in the late seventies (I think it was the first aftermarket high output humbucker). I agree, after their cancellation of St Louis it is time to give it up. Slip out and see some new music at your local small venue , there ARE some good new music makers !!
Who by numbers is a superb album
Brilliant song 🎵 .
❤
Fucking love this song.
Just the right amount of cowbell.
Could have done with a little more on the build ups. Slight flams would have done the job.
@@ramalama9650 yes… I totally agree… The beginning of the song and the count-in are really important. A 1234567…
I'm mesmerized. They always kick ass!
What's the double meaning of the song though? Seriously.
War is needed for Freedom/ War is unnecessary
The futility of war. Sequel to Won't Get Fooled Again.
About a young man not able to meet extreme expectations, as well as Pete's slight misdirection.
Awsome! But pete please pick up the gibson. Loose the fender!!
thank you! I get it, pete, you like playing other guitars, but just for at least a couple shows - please torture another SG special!
@@fw5550 iId settle for Les Paul Deluxe… With a humbucker in the middle position

I thought this was on "Quadrophenia". The civil war they were marching off to was the fights between "The Mods And The Rockers", Guess I was wrong.
backing Track from Bob pridden ?

Hardly a picture of Roger
NOPE, sorry - I'm a Pete girl FOREVER!!!
