Elias Burris i would pass, the Beatles, they’re not that great, I really could live without as long as I got the Motley Crue cover, but giving up the STONES? I couldn’t. I’m getting into The Who, I like the harder rock Who. Suggestions?
You could listen to the audio of this performance and believe it was from the 1970s, easily. Not perfect, there are plenty of mistakes, but it's The Who at their best--pounding through the confusion and making it work. Thanks for posting this!
He wasn't taught by the master. And , by the way, Keith wasn't a master. He was chaotic.. check him out on isolated tracks. He was a one off.. all over the place but somehow it worked. Ringo suited the Beatles.. not necessarilly the Who.
Hmm well their pitch and tempo etc. are legit. If this is truly live, I stand by my compliment. They have aged far far better than most others of their career, I feel like.
Brilliant! Excellent stuff, The Seeker really hits you when it's done live but only The Who can throw it at you with all that force... Roger and Pete are kick oners, thanks for the upload ;)
Great Band. I saw them about 10 Times. Me and my friend saw them in 1988 doing the entire tommy album i think in wisconsin . The great thing is that the greatful dead played the night before. We were fine just drinking alcohol and smoking a little weed but the dead heads walked around trying to sell trips. Well we bought them and saw the who play the entire tommy elbum from beginning to end and then some. What an experience. Also saw them at the House of Blues in Chicago. We we tripping then and couldn't believe we saw the who at a local bar. The beatles are my favorite band but he who were a close second. Over and out!!
A, then shuffle and two strikes on a D chord for the main riff. The D chord has your pinky finger on the 3rd fret of the first string on first strike and you take it off on second strike and you got the badass riff. Then you get C..."Won't get to get what I'm after".....then G...."till the day I die" and back to A-shuffle-D "I'm a seeker I'm a really desperate man" and "I got values but I don't know how or why" is a E. Basically this song has a blues structure.
this song is amazing its one of my favorite songs of all time the best thing that this song was played on one of my favorite games Gta iv and Guitar Hero III !!!!!
Pete Townsend makes minimal overdrive as powerful and 'there' as full on distortion. The tone here, for me, is one of The tones for playing open chords. One of the original Masters.
This is how it works kids: when you're young and havent heard enough music your favourite band are the beatles, then in your thirties you go for The Stones, and when you peak you understand The Who are the best of the lot
The Who will always be the best band ever ! Pure genius ! Think Zak Starkey is an incredible drummer and nearest to Keith Moon ever, dont think John Entwistle will ever be approached within 1000 miles of skill ! The Who's percussion was its heart and has never been equaled ! With that behind you and in front Pete Townshend on guitar / vocals and Roger Daltrey heading things up, it has never been any better !
Townshend is just immense, phrasing and attack on all the notes in the chords he plays, and even the notes he doesn't. Lead and rhythm at the same time.
Everyone's voice declines at middle age, but he's still a legendary singer and frontman. Just look at Robert Plant at the Zeppelin reunion last December. He still has the tone and stage presence that made him famous, but his range has decreased a lot over the years. Same with Daltrey. His voice is just tired, but he's still the legend he was back in 1964. Keep singing, Roger.
Gramps with Amps...my generation still rules the Rock and Roll World
Fuck yeah we do!!!
Yes, Zak Starkey is Ringo Starr's son. Keith Moon gave him his first drum kit. Starr and Moon were very good friends.
This has always been one of my favourite heavier songs by The Who. Killer track, often overlooked.
Pete has the most lethal right hand in rock history 🎸

After 30 years, I still come back to The Who. Excellent stuff...
The greatest band of all time. Long live The Who!
I saw the Who in 2006.I was so in awe of them . I've loved them for years ever since I was a teenager.
I would pass up the Beatles and the rolling stones any day to see the who!!
Amen to that !
Straight to Timothy
Yeah! No doubt!
I would not pass up the Beatles sorry greatest band of all time , but the Who the greatest rock band off all time.
Elias Burris i would pass, the Beatles, they’re not that great, I really could live without as long as I got the Motley Crue cover, but giving up the STONES? I couldn’t. I’m getting into The Who, I like the harder rock Who. Suggestions?
its a great honor to the drumer to be playing with this two guys
Pete and Roger are rock and roll survivors and thrivers! Their sheer stamina is incredible. Long Live Rock

Plenty of mistakes, really? Pounding through the confusion - what??
@@SWAINHILL Thank you so much for taking the time to write your idiotic and pointless reply to my comment from 15 years ago.
I had the pleasure of seeing The Who way back in 1975 in Philadelphia, I still have trouble with hearing to this day...it was so loud
I wouldn't go that far, but I'm really glad I got to see them 4 times. They were amazing.
The best replacement drummer, since Keith Moon died. He was taught by the master himself!!
Who is he?
@@dmcgarvey956 Zak Starkey

What an amazing rock no. I just freak out every time I hear this tune.
almost 40 years and still the best band in the world
I'm crying! They are legends..
These guys are my grandfathers age, and THEY STILL have the energy and the power!
Rock Gods......
Such a good band to see live, they really rock it out. I love seeing Zach Star drum for them, he fits in so well.
"I asked the Beatles"
Zak: ...

He said just ask Ringo 👍🏻
Woah. Can't tell they're old... inspiring!
yes you can tell they are old..thats why its cool

They can never be too old
they still got it! Awesome!
Pino Palladino (bass) is Welch, born in Cardiff to Itailian ancestory, he replaced John Entwistle in 2006 and has been with The Who ever since

iconic song by a iconic band.
One of my favourite Who songs. Pete writing that the answers to the questions he has are on the other side of death.
I could listen and watch the Who all day long!!!
Amazing Band ! Keith Moon was amazing, but ZAK , is one of my favourite drummers of all time! dx
Stupenda questa versione live 👍👍👍
Stupendous live version?

They certainly have a very strong claim… 👏🏻
Still smokin' after all these years. Terrific guys.
Just wonderful 🥰
i really miss this "later with jools" show in the states. you would see some really good acts that i never heard of before.
RIngo's kid is awesome on drums, and THE WHO - still gettin' it done!! NICE!!

Ringo Starr on drums!! He looks just like his dad. And plays awesome.
What a band and still going strong r ip kith moon best drummer ever
Simply put...one of the best if not the best...THE MIGHTY WHO! Good then better now!
Roger Daltry still has an awesome voice
Deeper and not as much range but still good.
@@455Transam it’s good for his age, sure he can’t hit those high notes anymore but at least it’s not shot like vince neil’s 😂
