Don't you just hate professionals? Look it only took a 12 MINUTE video to change out the lower ball joints. For us backyard guys that equates to about 12 HOURS. And then there is another 12 HOURS on the other side. But blessings to you for showing us step by step how to do the job.
I was able to replace the lower ball joint on my 2wd Ranger without removing the spindle. It saved a lot of time and the tool fit right in without a problem.
Is it possible to leave the axle in the hub assembly when lowering that steering knuckle off the ball joint shaft? It looks like there would be enough play.
If thats an Aftermarket Autozone, Oreilly, Napa Ball joint it should last around 10,000 miles before it fails.......OEM/FORD original dealership ball joint will last 250,000 miles.
Im having a very hard time removing the lower ball joint from the hub assembly on both sides. I have tried a pickle fork and many different hammers and im still not able to get it loosened. Any suggestions like other kinds of tools I could use or something? Its says in my Haynes book not to use heat because it will weaken the metal.

Any body else just love how the rotor and caliber magically became brand new after torquing the axle nut?

You should specify that this a 4wf model, as there are differences.
very well done video. Great job.
How much do they charge to replace the ball joints?
He also used a knurled ball joint which you should only use if the hole is loose.
Don't you have to take the torsion bar out to relieve pressure? I have a 2001 Ranger 4wd with torsion bar and 4.0 engine.

drinking game: Take one shot for every "loving bonk" he gives the vehicle.

Is this only for 2 wheel drive.
This is torsion suspension. Correct? I'm getting mixed up
One thing they didn't say on this video is that it is a wheel drive.
It’s 4x4
Is it possible to do this without the airgun?
Yeah! Bonk!

Go rent a ball joint press from autozone, you pay the down payment, but it is refunded when you return it.
Maybe more bonking! Bonk right on the stud of the lower joint or rent or buy a press
How do you watch your eyes
I need a way to do it without special tools 😂
I'd like to see a woman do this. Ha!
I've seen it plenty of times. You must live a sheltered life.
