I was late to the party and finally bought a PS1 in 2000. I got sled storm. Played the shit out of it. great graphics, gameplay, soundtrack. I remember trying to find a secret area but never managed to get up there. I ended up believing it wasn't achievable.
YESSSSS! One of the family games for me. That game rocked! It was so rewarding to play. Rough, but rewarding. The soundtrack is both for everyone, and not for everyone. "DragulaaaAAA!"
Fear Effect and Galerians could use some more appreciation too. Silent Bomber is fun, shame it's so expensive now. It's apparently available digital on PSN Japan for PS3.
Been wanting to finish Silent Bomber since I played it back when I was around 14 yrs old. I'm 35 now and just finished it on my emulator using my phone like 5 minutes ago. Damn that game is hard. It's so hard so I used cheat. Man I can't imagine that game without invincibility. The barrage of enemies makes it impossible. Good gameplay, too hard, story sucked.
Tomba! was a really good platformer. Starts up kind of easy but you get sucked into it pretty quick. Wonderful soundtrack, and some Metroidvania style elements.
Small Soldiers was slept on because the team behind it didn’t spend much of anything on marketing, they figured the movie was large enough to ride the wave but they released it too late for that to be the case. Its story is divorced from the movie, instead focusing on the backstory of the Gorgonite war and their homeland. Amazing third person shooter for its time with stunning soundtracks and epic split screen multiplayer versus! The campaign is fun as hell too.
@@chesspunk489 Devil dice was a well reviewed puzzle game. Future cop LAPD was made by Colony Wars guys, and was prominently advertised. Omega Boost was a Polyphony game. Apocalypse- Bruce Willis? Hey, bro Just wanted to give you a huge thank you for introducing me to hogs of war. I love worms 3d and was sad that i couldnt find anything like it on psx. Ive been playing all afternoon and LOVE it!
Had such a blast with hogs of war as a kid and silent bomber was awesome but it got stupid hard so I never completed it 🤣 nice list haven't heard of the other games 👍
N2O was a trip! I loved it. The Crystal Method soundtrack was one of the best OST choices I've seen a game make. And you could stick it in a CD player for a free album 😆
been so long since the last time playing on PS1 and there is one game that I always play back in the days and I wanted to play again now but I forgot what the title is. And then I search videos on youtube, after many time spent watching those videos I found it on your video, and yes it's the last one and the title is Silent Bomber. Thankyou very much, I finally can revisit it now.
Holy shit someone finally recognizes Silent Bomer. Total sleeper hit and was a ton of fun back in the day. Never heard of Wolfgang, looks great though. I'll for sure check that out.
a pretty obscure ps1 game id say is eternal eyes (2001). its an RPG where you collect puppets for your team kind of like pokemon but its a strategy rpg. its nothing amazing and is a bit bland but i believe it has some charm to it. i like the character design and the music is fantastic. just gives off a really nostalgic feeling but thats probably just because i remember watching my sister play it when i was a little kid. its really cheap as well
Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure also has been ported to the Nintendo DS and it is also a part of a trilogy of JRPGs that are collectively called the Marl/Marl's Kingdom Trilogy. However, the other two games in the series were never localized, though you can get some English translated unofficial copies of the game.
Still havent seen anyone talk about The Unholy War, its my fav hiddem gem. A mix of arena 1v1 brawler with a fun cast & a tactical mode. A mish-mash like ergheiz but both parts were really good.
I was just coming to talk about that. I almost never see it mentioned, but hear nothing but good things when someone does bring it up. It's criminally unknown.
I've played Sled Storm when it came out back in the day and it's a lot better than you've been able to describe, in my opinion. The biggest features are the soundtrack and the awesome snowhawk sleds (the ones that look like dirt bikes converted to snowmobiles but with only one ski up front). Those snowhawks completely changed the way the game handled. I also played Rhapsody when it came out as well and it's a pretty solid RPG for its time as well. Kind of a sappy story to it, from what I remember, but the gameplay was spot on compared to it's competitors (like Lunar: Silver Star Story, Tales of Fantasia, etc).
Sentient is a game I never see anyone talk about. It's a mystery adventure game that takes place in real time on a free-roaming space station with in-depth conversation options. It was leagues ahead of its era.
I have been playing the ps 1 for a long time now. My favorite hidden gems are Brave Fencer Musashi, Tomba 1 and 2, Pacman World, Bugs Lost In Time and its sequel, and Blast Chamber.
I don't know if it was talked about in this channel but Tail Concerto is another hidden gem! A great action/adventure game with RPG elements made by the same developer of Silent Bomber and the .hack// series, CyberConnect 2.
I got hogs of war on release, it was a really good game, I'm so glad they released it on steam as well, as that game is extremely polished for a playstation game, and has a lot of secrets! Silent Bomber always gets a like from me, that game definitely deserves some love, especially for the epic boss fights!
I played Tiny Tank all the way to the end. Some of the cg scenes are funny and entertaining but gameplay can get difficult in certain areas. Still it's a must play.
I think i have 4 copies of Silent Bomber. The PAL version has a production issue. The game crashes at a certain cut scene on most copies. Never got to complete it :(
Any chance we can get the soundtrack list used in yout videos? some of them are pretty cool! And you have a new subscriber. Keep the awesome work you are doing!
I am so happy. I finally have seen someone else play tiny tank on TH-cam. I loved this game growing up and that black hat bit was my goal to keep that thing as long as possible 😂 hilarious and so much fun. ☺️
Loved your show for a long time now. First time commenting. Your picks are always unique and interesting. A lot of these are pricey but I picked up Silent Bomber as it looks really fun!
hogs of war and rhapsody we're actually pretty popular back then. especially rhapsody. it's one of those games that you would often see get recommended in magazines as a classic around that time. it's also the game that made people know about NIS.
A question about the Encroachment Percentage in RayCrisis: what other benefits do you get from keeping it from reaching 100% besides not being sent directly to the final boss? I might have to try it out.
Great video as usual. I suggest you to check "Chase The Express" it's an interesting game, mix of survival horror and stealth action game. Another game that I really think it's underrated is "Road Rash Jailbreak". Yeah it's a bit clunky but it's fun as hell. "C-12" it's another game that nobody remembers but it has a lot of quality. It's an action adventure game with a sci-fi plot.
Sled Storm is good, but everyone knows it. *Sno-Cross Championship Racing*, on the other hand, was completely overshadowed by the PS2 launch! It is the Gran Turismo of snowmobiling. Check it out!

Glad you found some new games!
I'll take a bullet for any human that likes Silent Bomber, the GOAT of obscure video games. My childhood PS1 favorite. 😭
PS1 has a lot of hidden gems waiting to be played !
Brigandine and Clock Tower are my favorite hidden gems on PS1.
I was definitely not expecting to see Asuka 120%. I thought I was like the only person who knows about it
Silent Bomber was the "bomb", as it is for sure an hidden gem, and one of my favorites on any system.
Discovered Silent Bomber last year. Liked it so much that I played through in like 2 sittings, even though the game is kinda short, I rarely do this.
Thanks for including Hogs of War. A true British Classic
Are we not going to talk about the fact Tiny Tank is wearing a cowboy hat?
It's a power-up obtained when defeat a certain boss.
Its funny when your Canadian and you hear of Sled Storm being a obscure/hidden gem EVERYONE had it here haha

A few of my favorite hidden gems on PS1 are Devil Dice, Future Cop: LAPD, Omega Boost, Apocalypse, Monkey Hero, and Pitfall 3D.

What about Mr Dominio?

Gear Fighter Dendoh, Panzer Bandit, Ghost in the Shell & Rising Zan the Samurai Gunman ✨👌
