The AI revolution begins! Can AI replace the role of a UI/UX designer in the workplace or will it simply change the medium in which we interact with design? AI and machine learning have been making significant advances in recent years, leading many to wonder if they will eventually replace human designers. In this video, we'll explore the capabilities of AI in the design field and the potential impact it could have on the industry.
I’ll discuss the current state of AI in design, including its strengths and limitations. I’ll also dive into the role of AI in design automation, generative design, and the creation of personalized experiences. Also how AI can assist a designer rather than replacing them.
The video examines the future of AI in design and the implications for designers, businesses and the industry as a whole. Get an understanding of how AI will change the industry, but not necessarily replace designers.
As a designer or someone in the design industry, it's important to stay informed about the latest developments and how they may affect your career and the field as a whole. Watch now to get a deeper understanding of the relationship between AI and design!
In this short video I cover the trending topic of artificial intelligence and it's recent rise in popularity thanks to tools built by the following teams:

At the core of design is solving problems not making wireframes, sketches, obejcts and so on, those are just tools we use right now. Those tools will evolve and AI will most likely be part of them, guide us, inspire us, give as examples. We would just need learn those tools like we did before, so in the end it should give us more time, more space to what we should be doing which is thinking on how to solve problems and collaborate with others.

Sounds about right! I’m interested to see how the tools develop and if they’ll eventually become the problem solvers themselves!

@@Oefez yep that's the I guess whole hype around it but we are not there yet. It's already taking it's first steps in simple things like generating images but that's not design. Righty now websites offering templates are doing better job offering inspiration then AI, so AI would have to be more sophisticated. Like show me landing pages for this kind of personas (description) that solve this (description) kind of business problems and are in this (description) style. To have something like thaht we have to wait a bit more but I can imagine it could be done, dang I have even ideas how it could be done :D

Glad I watch videos on 1.5x. Great video intro if you didn’t know anything about the software but advance “user” just another video saying the same thing.

Thanks for the feedback, do you have suggestions on how it could be improved?

@@Oefez It would be great to obviously state the facts and give a brief intro, which you clearly did. But there are so many videos out there are literally repeating the same narrative on AI. So maybe next time intro on the basics (obviously what you clearly did) and then lead into how you are actually using the software with examples and how you are currently using it. Being that UX/UI is your medium I would focus more on those kind of examples. Because as of right now I haven’t come across anyone really showcase a workflow around AI + UX/UI

@@relative_vie great feedback I appreciate this and thank you for the honesty. I will try to incorporate this going forward.

I think the first step would be to use AI as a design tool the it will progress on to be a tool that solves your problems. I suppose, as you said, you’ll need to know how to use prompts or future down the line to be able to ask better questions.

That's a really interesting thought around the ability to iterate. I guess you mean that you might be able to skip some of the early iterations. Humans are much better at finding what they don't like with something than creating something they do, so if you can get a basic template from ai very quickly then you can get a skilled designers to fix the thing you don't like.

Yeah exactly! Imagine the speed at which you can filter out some of the ideas you have. Since making the video I’ve been thinking about it as maybe comparable to writing an essay or story whereby for a first draft it’s good to just throw all your thoughts on a page and iterate as you go. So maybe the AI generation will help accelerate those first iterations

Would it be advantageous for one to get in to the UX/UI industry at this point? Just curious as I’m looking at a career change.

Sure why not? It’s fun and fulfilling at times, it can pay well and you get to work with great people. Maybe try out a couple of passion projects to see if it’s something you’d like to maintain longer term and also it’ll build up some of your skills and efficiencies.

Which colored lighting do you use?

I've got a couple of lights set up but the rim light (one I use for the colourful halo effect) is the Neewer 2.4G RGB LED Light Stick. It's not too expensive and I got mine from Amazon :)
