There is no review or refund in switch eshop literally u have to buy games in blind mode

A lot of switch games are rendered at 720p docked anyway. Breath of the wild only reaches 900p natively while docked anyway, so the resulting stretched image on your tv might even look worse.

Last time I checked, magnetic HDMI doesn't exist yet.

It's not that hard to slot a switch into a dock.

We aren't okay with less than 30, we're okay with a constant stable 30.

It's a 2015 mobile processor running on a battery portably. It doesn't need to be 1080p, it's too small, and if it were 1080p, it would either run horrible or die way too quick.

I think Nintendo can get away with it because they always make great 1st party games. I agree, it is ridiculous that ANY developer would be okay with games running below 30 FPS. TotK was horrible on launch and still doesn't run amazing.

Guess what? If you look for 5 seconds into Nintendo’s history and do a little research before making a whole video, you’ll find that they’re not know for their graphics. They’re known for their intuitive and cheaper ways to play games. A switch isn’t as powerful as, say, a steam deck, and that’s because a steam deck is $400. Imagine how much a switch would be if the base of it was $400. The ability to dock would probably add another $100. That would annihilate sales. There’s a reason the switch is on it’s way to be the best selling console of all time, and why 3 of the top 5 best selling consoles of all time are produced by Nintendo

Lol, I thought this was a 2017-2020 era review of the Switch, until he said “Steam Deck.” If you want a Switch in 2024, just buy the OLED model. It fixes all of the issues he mentioned, except for using the kickstand while charging. Even then, you can still kind of use the kickstand while charging, just not at as many viewing angles. I think the Switch is much more portable than the Steam Deck, because of its smaller size, and I like Nintendo games a lot, so I’m team Switch.

It is not a kick stand it is a compartment for the memory card

Using the dock, keeping it in sleep mode and keeping the controllers connected drains battery and/or destroys your battery.

You do realize that games already run below 720 in portable right 540 is pretty common for higher intensity/poorly optimized games. Running a 1080p display would just eat at battery for no reason in 99% of games.

A 1080p display doesn’t cost noticeably more at scale for something like that. Those extra pixels, along with the power needed to push them, would require more battery, which would bump up costs and size more than the screen. At that size you don’t need 1080p anyway

The specs cant handle higher resolutions anyway but its also 7 years old and is the cheapest gaming device out there

i mean it’s the cheapest console you can buy from one of the major competitors, the screen is fine and good enough. 720p at that size is just fine

It would up the cost by quite a bit and at a screen that small you don't really notice the resolution, and most of the switch userbase really dont care

The steam deck screen is also a bit more than 720p. 720p is a perfect resolution for portable play considering it's the perfect mix between visuals, battery life and Performance.

why don't you try playing on a tv

remember, it has the functionality to project it onto a screen.
