I am sad about this. It's a sad day indeed. Someone needs to convince the IOC to turn around and renew the licensing agreement or at least come up with at least something!!! I grew up with mario and sonic ever since I first got the first ever mario and sonic olympic video game in 2007, I didn't get all the games since I thought i had all the time in the world to do so, the only latest is tokyo games, I'm working on getting all the rest of mario and sonic olympic games, i was hoping if no mario and sonic game this year then maybe next year since they have a much clearer head start, but this, THIS is where I draw the line!!! Look i wouldnt mind a frsh mario and sonic crossover, but I am utterly wounded by the news, it's now up to us to take matters into our hands and do something if the IOC discontinued the Mario and Sonic series, but then again that's just me.
Even though I was never a fan of Mario and Sonic games, this is still kind of sad. I do think that Mario and Sonic will come back in some form though, I mean if Mario and Luigi can come back despite their developer being shut down literally anything is possible
I wished that all the past Mario & Sonic at The Olympic Games are on Nintendo SWITCH games just like they did for mario and sonic at the olympic games tokyo 2020 because no one are playing Wii, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS anymore now that they're moving onto Nintendo SWITCH and there aren't going to be anymore released on Mario & Sonic at The Olympic Games in the future.
I mean, the license being gone I thought was old news, so this really doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. Even if not, I’m just not super surprised since the games got way less buzz as time went on. And personally, I’d rather Nintendo and Sega try and do a more story focused crossover that brings both worlds together in a more engaging way. Since they were REAL spotty about even putting story to these games. It’s a shame for fans who liked these games. But this is just something I shrug and move on after hearing. Them falling for NFTs is garbage, though.
sad day, sad day indeed but the franchise is not dead!!! I have hope that we will have a new Mario & Sonic Olympic Games in this cruel era and I don't want to suffer anymore!!! I want world peace now!!!
Unrelated but Bo, what are your thoughts on Mystery Dungeon shadow dropping on to NSO? What do you think it means for our prospects of a Pokemon Direct anytime soon? Feels like the kind of thing that would have been announced at one. Does it also give you any more hope that mainline games might come to the service or am I huffing on some copium right now
The only thing that sucks about this for me personally is that I'll never get to see Mario & Sonic at the Brisbane Olympics 2032, since that's my hometown 😅
Technically not *official* but with no game this year and someone who works for the Olympics saying Sega lost the license, at the very least it’ll be awhile before we get another one. Maybe someday!
Still pisses me off that they sold two iconic video game characters for lame nfts
Where and when did you find that out?

And I'm losing hope in this era, I don't know if I can survive! 😥

Maybe they’ll come back for the LA Games in 2028.

Bo at 29 seconds "hey man"
Me sitting in my garage " I keep a little dirt under my pillow for the dirt man" lol
First game sold 13 million. Second game 7 million. Last game 1.3 million. Make sense but nft doesn't make sense
Aww man, I am so disappointed that Mario and Sonic didn’t come together for Paris 2024. I don’t know if they’ll ever join up for anything again.
Oh Come On!
This is so sad I don't think there will be a new sports game until the nintendo switch 2 or the mario sports series will never get a new game

What we need is an actual Mario and Sonic game where they team up and go on an adventure together
I only want some miracle to end this madness once and for all!

like a fan game?
I hope someone will do it

Oh no!
The poor sales over the years brought its downfall of the series. 2008 and 2010 games were great but 2012 wasn’t the same.
I gotta go back and play the Wii games. Also curious about the DS games from that time because I've never seen ANYONE talk about them lol
nooooooooooooooooooo😢
The craziest thing is that they left them for NFTs
