Today I look at the only carbon fiber modular helmet on the market. The AGV sportmodular and compare it's build quality to a reference helmet the Shoei RF-1100.
Great review. I have this and the Schuberth c3 pro. Schuberth definitely quieter and the tinted sun shield is definitely darker (in the Schuberth). This is a VERY light helmet. I also had a neotech II and really wanted to love that helmet but the pads hurt my big ears. AGV cuts the pads different and so they do not bother my ears. AGV has better entire air flow than the schuberth especially in hot climate. Neotec II has the best FACE air flow in my opinion, especially with the sun shield down. It's like a car's a/c vent on your face and directs the flow nicely over the face, however because its a thickly padded Helmet it still gets a little warm. Overall the AGV modular is a great light, cool helmet for me. Schuberth is nice an quiet for long distance riding/touring. I use them both. Unfortunately I had to return the Neotec II due to the ears being uncomfortable and the chin strap chaffing my neck. I don't experience this chin strap prob with the AGV bc its well padded and the double D rings have infinite adjustablility, and the schuberth has very good padding as well for the chin strap. PS. AGV just informed me they will have an integrated sena comm system avail in this summer 2019 for the AGV modular.
Totally agree with you. I have both the shoei and agv. I wanted a modular which looked good and was comfy. After trying Schubert, neotec II and HJC I went for the agv. Quality is average compared to shoei. After 3 months the visor screw was rusted (I have it for 8 months now). However if I had to buy it again I would.
Matt or Gloss? 🤔 I can't make my mind up which looks more authentic carbon Vs pretentious carbon? I cannot see it in person due to COVID. Please advise what everyone thinks? Matt or Gloss?

Thanks for the info about sena products that was a concern I had buying one of these. Also I’m between sizes so I went to the smaller of the two. Waiting for it to arrive, hope it fits.
Yes indeed, the AGV is very light and is truely gorcious to look at. Especially the tricolore version that I had my mind set on. But...... the Neotec 2 beats it in every other way. Quieter, more comfy, more durable, servicable parts, overall quality. So worth the money ? Nope, not for me.
@@crochebotamrelapute8816 I paid 570 euro for the Neotec, so no.... I wouldn't. Problem is that the AGV is way overpriced for what it is. The inside, where my head is, does not match the quality of the shell. It's a shame really, cos the most comfortable helmet that I wore for nearly 10 years, was an AGV XR2. Way back when AGV made great helmets...

Good review, you made great points and I agree with helmets over $600 should have that premium quality fit and finish feel.
I just love the AGV, and had no issues mounting a Sena 30k on it.

You probably know this but in case you don’t, ECE is a safer helmet than DOT. I took my SRL out of my Neotec 2 and put on a Cardo

I have the Shoei Neotec 2. I also “had” the SRL in it. I took it out and am using the Cardo now. So non SENA will work as well
How do you have the cardo mounted? That's really the only thing that's making me back away from the neotec
It is still with the clamp mount it is a bit further back but not ridiculous at all. It is an exceptional helmet. Go for it
