I took a hard look at this helmet but eventually went with the Klim TK-1200 with the transitions face shield. There are a whole lot of similarities between the AGV and the Klim. Although I do like the Klim TK-1200 for what it brings to the modular helmet arena it, like all of the other modular helmets come with its pros and cons. The transitions face shield is really nice. The carbon fiber composite material is certainly a welcomed addition with being extremely lightweight and easier on your neck & shoulder on extended rides. The quick release (or "ratchet system") buckle is what ultimately sold me on the TK-1200. The TK-1200 helmet is very difficult to put on and take off but once its on, it fits great! I also wear glasses and I can tell you first hand, I cannot leave my glasses on while putting this helmet on or taking it off...the fitment is way too snug to allow that to happen. One other con I would like to point out on the Klim is that the chin bar seems to be rather too close to my face...it's not a deal breaker but worth noting. Anyway, I think this is an excellent review on the AGV Helmet and you certainly can't go wrong with AGV as they are well known and respected amongst motorcycle professionals all over the world. Thank you for the fantastic review! You earned yourself a new subscriber!
Love the review, very detailed, i wear glasses and that is why i was looking at purchasing this helmet!!thank you so much. You solved that issue for me!!!
*4/10/18 Update - I was informed that the premium packing was only for press release helmets, so the helmet box you purchase will not look like this and will come in a standard packaging.
I had one for about 48 hours, I ordered a medium which is what i measured at, the fitment was so tight i couldn't close the helmet. It would close but there was so much pressure on my chin i couldn't take it. Trying to decide if i should reorder in a large or go with a schuberth c4 pro carbon
Hello, I'm thinking of buying this helmet, how is the sound insulation? I'm driving a bmw f850 GS and it has a front windbreaker. I am using first generation shoei Neotec.
This helmet for "professionals" of some kind, who ride a great amount of time so they do need sunvisor and flipup and foglinse and the weight of a helment becomes critical for their neck (muscles won't help). For such conditions it is not expensive. If you ride 2 hours a week on good weather - you never need it)
A lot of folks complain about the fit and especially the choking chin strap. Otherwise a beautiful helmet. I’ll wait until they fix the fit issue before a lay down those pesos.
Thanks for disclosing the conflict of interest at the end. Still, good comprehensive review... and lucky you for getting a beautiful and modern helmet! Luckily, I still love my Icon Lucky Lid 2!
Light weight helmets helps on those long rides🍃.. I just bought that exact bucket from revzilla. Also found out that they just started to charge for taxes, it came out just below $900.
Nice review, how do you compare this helmet vs Shoei Neotec II. I'm considering Cardo Cardo PackTalk BOLD or SLIM Headset instead of the one designed for Shoei Neotec II. Upright riding position with a small windscreen on the 2018 Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster...Thank you!!!
Michael Polissky Productions shoei is a lot heavier, like seriously heavier. Then the button of the drop down visor on agv is a little bit awkward which is at the bottom of the helmet. Shoei definitely fits better on my head, not saying agv is bad, they both good but I prefer shoei, for the wind noise they both did pretty good, but I felt like shoei is a bit more quieter, could be I'm biased because I own 2 shoei helmets, but they both pretty good Quality. Feel like overall quality shoei is better feels more robust. Value, agv is wayyyyy lighter then shoei, and they are actually at the same price range, agv is even a feel dollars cheaper than the neotech2 I bought it at about 520 usd I would say for the same amount of money agv is way lighter, although is not as comfortable as the shoei but the shell is actually stiffer, if you open the chinbar and try to bend the helmet, you'll noticed that the agv is harder to bend. So I suggest you the agv especially it's a few dollars cheaper than the shoei neotech2
my glasses barely move from my face when I put the helmet. It's amazing. It works exactly like putting on a 3/4 helmet on. As you put the helmet on, you can slightly expand the side wall of the helmet with your hands while putting the helmet over your head, which leave plenty of room for your glasses.
Thanks, I guess I meant if you slide them off and on while you have the helmet on. I know some helmets have that little logo in them that says they are glasses friendly, etc. I have yet to find a helmet that allows for ease of putting them on and taking them off while I have the helmet on. Lastly, did you find that the chin strap was a bit too far back and hit your Adam's Apple? In trying it on, that was my biggest complaint. Thanks again for your input.
Oh, I actually never had to take my glasses off while wearing the helmet, so I'm not sure. I'll have to try that. And that's how I felt with the strap. After riding with it again, it kindda started to rub on my throat. Not a good sign for longer rides.
Sideroist Thanks, that’s what I tried to tell them at the SF D Store & AGV online. They wouldn’t believe me about the chin strap. The original Schuberth C3 was the same but they changed that with the C3-Pro & subsequent models. Take care!

Gosh, I really wish this AGV helmet had the ratchet system. That would be awesome.
I agree if the sticker was low profile grey black white it would look better ! GODBLESS
I’m choosing between matte carbon and glossy. Thank you for making this 🙏
which one did u chose? :)
Glossy is more classy, and these days a lot rarer, too.
Love the review, very detailed, i wear glasses and that is why i was looking at purchasing this helmet!!thank you so much. You solved that issue for me!!!
Glad it was helpful! And exactly! The #1 inconvenience for me with helmets are my glasses and modular helmet completely eliminates that!

That would be nice if it was for the price we're spending.

Mine didn’t come with the semi hard case

yea, the chin strap is very surprising, given how much the helmet is and all the R&D that much have gone in to it.
AVG said on there Facebook page the strap issue has been taken care of

For what it's worth sport modular in Italian is
modulare sportivo
Hey, what's that black jacket you were wearing in the riding shots?
It's an Aether jacket. Don't think they make that specific model sill.
What is the size of this?
He got size medium in the matte color.

How do your glasses fit with this helmet? Oops, should have waited to the end of the video. What about putting glasses on with the helmet already on?

They should have called it strada! That would have been perfect for the US market. It sounds bad ass other companies use it and it means street.
Ok, I keep calling this super modular, but it's actually called sport modular. Sorry!
I was surprised it was made in China for that price. Must be paying for the super size box.
Awkward perspective, doesn't feel natural and it's annoying
Made in China!!! Thanks. I'll stick with Nolan N100-5.
China
I stopped watching when you said, "The box is really nice."
Awful unboxing review...kinda hard to watch...looks good on my Thruxton...a well known sport or touring bike.
