Bought this helmet 1 month ago after reviewing Schubert C3 pro/C4, HJV 90 and Neotec 2. I’ve tried all of them. Don’t like the Schubert’s especially their design but that’s very personal. HJV the issue was that the L had pressure points and XL was just too big. I have a rf1200 so I was going for the Neotec 2 but after reading the AGV reviews I considered the last one. Design wise definitely nicer. Quality wise well not at the same leve as Shoei. The shell is great but the inside plastics pretty cheap and not well assembled. It takes 10 annoying mins to remove the chin pad pulling it strongly and worrying it will brake. Now the AGV after a couple of weeks and around 600km is a very comfortable helmet. It is amazingly light (disturbing at first as you wonder if you have locked it properly) and stable at high speed (200km/h). I have a SuperDuke R so no protection whatsoever. To conclude: not the perfect helmet but I would buy it again. You just need to know the pro and con when you make your choice. Ahhh and and forgot about the strap. Uncomfortable the first 2 weeks but now no problem anymore
i know im asking randomly but does someone know a way to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow forgot the password. I would love any help you can give me.
@Coleman Hugh i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and im trying it out atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
One would be forgiven for mistaking it for a full face helmet! Did not realise it was modular until he opened the face in the best helmets for 2018 video!
Love the GE SUPER TUNNER radio on the bench. I had its predecessor in the early 80's. My best friend still has his and he uses it everyday. I'll get in touch with you guy soon.
Sold the helmet after 2 months. The helmet liner keep coming off when removing the helmet from my head. Overall built quality is way behind Shoei and Arai
I just got mine today and it was $599 on sale. I did not want a ratchet strap and that booted the Neotec II (sad because I like my current Neotec). I tried the Schuberth C4 and it did not fit well, even in XL (Neotec was L, AGV is an XL). Plus, I had forgotten about the ratchet strap! It will sit right on top of my Adam’s apple! So fugeettboutit
Bought this helmet couple months ago it was way Lowder than I am use to. But this is my first modular. my main problem is how much it pulls on my neck at higher speeds and long rides so much so I don't even want to wear it my 250 dollar bell qualifier has way less drag bottom line my neck is killing me after even a 50 mile ride
Was gonna buy this, has what I wanted, light and flip-up. Also fits like a glove. But why AGV,why,if the helmet fits me perfectly does the drop down visor hit me on the nose? Spend a big amount of money and have purchased Shuberth SR 2 in UK amazing helmet very light ,I see this helmet now and I am angry I wasn't aware agv made this helmet
Both are solid helmets but have unique fits. You should try both on and see which one fits your heads better. Fitment should be a top priority for your new helmet as you will be wearing it for hours on end.
You actually can install a Sena with a boom microphone. If your Sena came with a detached boom microphone option (most do nowadays), you can mount the detached boom inside the helmet behind the left cheek pad with the boom coming around to the mouth. That keeps you from having to snake the boom from outside the helmet to inside the helmet. It also allows you to mount the controller out of the way of the sun visor mechanism. It's the same process as done with the popular Schuberths. -DrewZilla
Why the heck do these manufacturers have to put the sunglass feature lever on the left side? I know that is the clutch side, but why not put it on top or somewhere else? I use SENAs for comms and audio. Pretty much every decent comms unit out there mounts also on the left/clutch side. I would love to try this helmet, but the lever there keeps me from using my comms...and no I do not want to use the adhesive mounts for the comms.
20s here as well, and in my HJC RPHA due to the chin screen you don't have a lot of slack to keep that mic planted near your mouth. I give it this... If I can get my hands on one of these helmets at a dealer then I can eyeball it or bring my spare clamp/mount in to assess the possibilities. I still prefer the control on top as that works best for my comms...
Question, i have allready the cardo packtalk, i will need the boom microphone for this helmet, is there enough room in the front because some helmets are very narrow in front, please let me know, you are doing a good job and you've also reached the Netherlands bigtime with your reviews. Thumbs up!!
@@zunaidkajee4540 he did a whole section in this review about just that. Schubert, to Anthony and another staffer, seemed slightly more quiet. But this was pretty much quieter than all the rest of the brands.
That's how Shoei is for me, squashing my ears, and cheeks. Can change out the cheekpads, but nothing I can do about the ears. Like the quality, but can't wear them.
Seems like carbon fiber n weight are the only things that separate this helmet from the c4/pro n the shoei, if that’s the case then the c4 pro comes n carbon fiber now at the same price w n it sounds like the c4pro was better thought out
You would likely be size small in the Sportmodular too, but measure your head circumference to be sure. Size small fits 55-56cm. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/agv-sportmodular-carbon-helmets
I don't agree with the assessment you couldn't ride this on track days? I'll DEFINITELY ride this at track-days, should I go to any... Now if you ONLY did track days/racing, that's a different story....
There is a wind chin guard on the helmet and it comes with a second wind chin guard (one for cold weather, one for warm weather). Can someone explain how to remove and change this?
If you have small or medium glasses, it is fine. I have medium size frames, and I can wear it just fine. Large aviator-style glasses would be a challenge though. -DrewZilla
Can you put this thing on with the strap still through both D-rings but fully loosened up until the red fastener? I hate fiddling about with those when the helmet is on my head.
No, due to the narrow neckroll/helmet opening, you will very likely need to fully undo the strap from the double D-rings. Instead, you might consider using an Echo quick release. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/echo-helmet-quick-release-buckle
What's 3k carbon?...First time commenting so let me take a sec to say: Anthony, really appreciate your videos. Been watching for about 5 y now, and appreciate your practical, through & clear break down of moto gear.... So, the question: What is 3k Carbon? Is that different that other carbon fiber products? Is 3k essentially a thread count? Do others carbon products generally use less dense carbon? is there a range? Is this 5% better than average? 50%? Sure i can google it, and probably will but if you're going to take the time to explain basics like what a modular helmet is, and your going to call out 3k multiple times, it's worth at least a brief explanation. Thanks, keep up the good work.
K refers to the number of fibers in each bundle (in thousands). When you look at the woven carbon fiber pattern, each bundle of woven fibers contains 3,000 (3K) fibers. 3K carbon provides a really good strength to weight balance. Some carbon helmets are actually a composite of carbon fiber and other fibers like fiberglass or aramid/Kevlar. These carbon composites can be more affordable for a given strength but slightly heavier. -DrewZilla
Yes, you can add a 20S. You just mount it to the rear of the sun visor switch and then mount the hybrid boom microphone inside the helmet behind the left cheek pad. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/agv-sportmodular-carbon-helmets *www.revzilla.com/sena-bluetooth-communications
Hi guys, i have a Shoei Neotec (first version) and it's time to replace it. How are the performance of this AGV compared to the Shoei in terms of ventilation and comfort? I saw on your website that my size (LG) for shoei is 59-60cm and for the AGV is 58-59cm. Could i need an XL? Thank you!
Ventilation and comfort are good, but the chin strap sits a little closer to the neck. If you have a larger neck, the chin strap might sit too far back for you. The biggest difference, though, is that it's a lot lighter than the Neotec. As for size, it really depends on your actual head measurement. If you are at 59cm, then you would choose size Large in the AGV. If you are closer to 59.5 or 60cm, then you might need to go up to size XL. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/agv-sportmodular-carbon-helmets

Just adjust the position of the comms unit, Looks like there would be pleanty of room to the rear on this helmet
Then the mic won't be in the right place for comms and that is even with the secondary mic they provide. Secondary mics suck anyway.
Dan Paquette that's odd that the Microphone wouldn't reach. I've got the Sena 20S and the standard boom microphone has plenty of length

AGV helmets in the past have squashed my ears..very painful. How much ear room is there? Current Helmet is Schuberth C3 Pro is this a good upgrade?
There's a decent amount of ear room. I would say the AGV Sportmodular is a nice replacement for the C3 Pro. -DrewZilla

There are plastic tabs that hold the chin curtain into the chin bar. You can wiggle them to loosen and then pull to remove them. -DrewZilla
can you ride with the modular open??
The sun visor looks very close to the face, so how is it for wearers of glasses?
