Thanks so much for featuring these courses! It's so cool to see you guys work through them (with alternate solutions, haha). I'm in the process of re-uploading the missing courses, so within the next few days all of them should be online again.
dude, these stages are sick. Major props to designing and tailoring them to each character. They're reminiscent of Melee's break the targets. It would be super cool if Nintendo picked this up and made these official.
@@jonathanhargraves2241 Can you imagine how many videos people would be making of replaying that mode with their friends. Like, all the Smash content creators would've made so many with the full roster of characters and possible spirit builds alone.
The problem is that the models were from melee and brawl, and were able to be used because of the 3ds' crap resolution, thats the reason smash run was not on WiiU. Making all the models for it would take longer than trophies, because of skeletons and rigs, and they didn't even have time for trophies, so unfortunately smash run on ultimate is most likely a no go
Tip: since there are spots in the level where you can rest, instead of doing this in turns, one of you can do one part, while the other can be doing a different section of the stage. So, whenever one of you dies, the other can still continue from where he is. I think this will save you some time.
That would be really distracting for the other player though. Plus you'd lose the chance to gain insight on how to tackle a section if you're behind and playing a different portion. It's true time would be saved, but I don't think it's optimal if you're both trying to beat the stage competitively like the Doods are here.
Here's a few alternative strategies for anyone who wants to try the Ike stage: In the first section you can just hold shield and time your rolls to get past. The third section, getting to the bomb on the right can also be done by jumping backwards off the ledge and doing a backwards Aether to land on the bomb platform. This requires a lot of precision though so it's not really worth doing over the method the BSD did. The fourth section, getting up to the top right is where the BSD made it a lot harder than they needed. The left bumper is kind of a red herring and you can bypass it entirely by tech jumping off the right bumper, double jumping to below and right of the top bomb, then using Aether to blow up the bomb. If done right Ike with destroy the bomb, slide alongside the slope, and then if you hold left from there you'll land on the platform. Using the left bumper is way cooler though. Lastly, the wind tunnel section can be done by simply using an aerial and then quickly looping around and double jumping and air dodging into the gap. It's not really needed though since this is the most forgiving section due to a lack of punishment for failure.
Can I just say that I really respect these guys for continuously innovating what Smash ultimate could be almost 2 years after it launched? No disrespect to other smash tubers, but a lot of them just recycle the same content ideas with added flair each time. But a lot of BSD uploads, especially QB, feel really special and I know Sakurai would be proud
I really feel BSD is living the Sakurai dream: some competitive tech skill, occasionally plays casual setups too, supports creative content/game "modes".
after watching this, I can only imagine how hard Snake and Links would be. oh gosh with links hitable bomb that u can detonate on command, would be like a breath of the wild dungeon
They should try out my Death Race stages basically it's an obstacle course for 4 players that race to the end. First one to the end presses a switch or bomb block and everyone still racing dies
This was really unique and I loved these puzzles! For you guys to make a more fair scoring system you should give partial points to whoever finishes each puzzle first (I think you did something like this in a QB before)
This was pretty cool. Although you may want a punishment for those sections that you can keep attempting without worry of failing. Like maybe after you try three times then the other person can come after you. So you can keep trying but you gotta get it fast because they're coming to kill you.
This was fun to watch, though it may be even more fun if you guys decided to try working together rather than competing. I think it'd be more fun for you guys as well if you're able to more freely pass the control to each other to show each other what you're tihnking.
I'm gonna keep commenting this until it happens. Questionable Beef #23: Choose eachother's characters. Tell the other person who to play that round. And for extra fun? Designate a specific kill move before the match starts. If they don't take at least one stock using THAT move, the win doesn't count.
To clear up some questions I always get: Obviously they won't pick "You gotta kill with Fox laser"... They'll pick legitimate kill moves that might just be situational, tricky, or will otherwise give them an advantage. Might pick something like Rest as their opponent's kill move, knowing if it misses it leads to an easy win, or Ganon up-tilt for how open it leaves them. I'm sure they'll come up with less obvious, and more entertaining, ideas than I could though! Great suggestion from a previous iteration of this comment: Play on Timed rather than Stock, game ends as soon as you get one kill with your designated kill move, regardless of score up to that point. If neither kills with their kill move, defer to score.
These stages are awesome to watch, SUPER HARD TO COMPLETE. I really wish he gets a job at Nintendo or the smash team, and starts doing some easier levels (like hit the targets levels). Or at least he could leave the hardest sections of a level on the end. (Not how he did this)
How I saw my brawl stages as a kid IT'S B E A U T I F U L ! >:D (gets spanked around by spikes and it's sudden death) *I have the high* -ground- *% , Anakin!*
Should we try to create or solve one of these live on stream at some point? :D
YES, Big yes :D
That'd be a cool concept
Yes please
Yes
It would be cool to see so yes
I could easily see this becoming its own series if there’s enough stages being made
There is alot of stages. 1-3 of each character
That would be sick
Hell yeah... I felt the same way when I saw the dungeon mods for Botw. I’d love to play some of these stages...
@@muzzledoof6353 perfect
He's done like 75% of the cast and some characters even have 2-3 courses

I really hope they bring back break the target like they did with homerun contest. It was really fun in the past smash games
Making more or less 80 versions of it would be a bit hard tho.
JMZ it’s the biggest fighting game of all time
JMZ Nintendo could do it if they tried
home run content is the last mode, sadly
They said home run was the last mode
3:48 "...the hell was that?"
The damn delivery gets me every time
This needs to be implemented into competitive smash
World record page lmao
No, there would be a limit on how fast you can do it
That should be a Game mode for Offline and Online!
There are home run contest world records so this isn’t out if the question
@@kingbill8155 and even target test records
I made a co-op puzzle long ago, basically as soon as the stage builder was added. I'm glad to see that someone else used the idea better than I did.
nice pfp
8:04 this is actually the sickest thing I’ll ever see Ike do
You would be wrong. The sickest thing ike can do is neutral air up air
Custom stages for characters? Love my Little Mac parkour maps
He be schmoving with wall jump
th-cam.com/video/CBCfc8RzNAI/w-d-xo.html pretty cool actually
How could Sakurai abandon Smash Run after it was featured on a portable console, the 3DS, and not on the Switch?
I know right? We missed out big with that
That was so much fun, miss it.
would get more use out of the massive player roster too

The only puzzles I've mostly seen are the ones that you have to find the switch or explosive box from those... Lewd stages that are everywhere.
So glad that Shark is getting the recognition they deserve.
DUDE I'VE BEEN FOLLOWING THIS GUY ON SMASH WORLD SINCE IT WAS A THING I LOVE THIS
“Let that sink in” I think I will, I need to wash my hands
The Slap Chop ad was icing on this Smash cake.

In these trying times, the BSD and StylesX2 are my go-to Smashtubers.

Is that battle block theater music I heard at the beginning? Nostalgia hitting hard
This is a throwback to Mario Maker stages.
This reminds me of Super Mario Maker's one-screen puzzles
If i recall correctly, Ike can walljump in Project M
Yay I love seeing my boi Ike being played by beefy smash doods
Virtual high five for those of you who knew about shark’s channel already 👏
Chris found his game 🥰
Thanks for playing my stages!
Jk lol nice coincidence the guy had the same name as me
can u do more of these kinda vids they r rlly entertaining thanks love the content ❤❤❤
Reminds me of those Mario maker levels you did haha, good fun
I love how the Thumbnail is a stage not used.
I am definitley going to make a course after seeing this
The farther they got, the more stressful it got
Subspace?
This was great! More puzzles please!
This was very enjoyable to watch
That's an awesome challenge we want more !
Honestly, just do more of these! It's like Mario Maker but Smash :)
I'm a sucker for these types of videos.
To be fair, Ike COULD walljump in Project M, but only during side b.
