Soft Plastic Jerkbaits: 4 Fluke Tricks For Fall Bass!

- The Fluke is an amazing baitfish imitator! There may be no better bait to target aggressive bass in Fall, around heavy cover. The soft jerkbait's ability to dance in an out of cover triggers a feed response, even in wary bass. This is a bait that should be in your Fall fishing line up every time you hit the water.
Most anglers fish a soft jerkbait but few realize its true adaptability. It can be texas rigged in heavy cover, nose hooked in clear water, or be "donkey rigged" and fished around active bass. Most anglers use the Fluke but few know how to keep fishing eating it day after day. Pay attention to the details in Tim's rigging methods as they can be the difference between catching a few fish and really dialing in an amazing pattern.

I caught my pb in May after using tips from one of your videos where you talked about flukes and the best colors smokin shad did the trick. It was a long cast and it crushed it as soon as it hit the water and I was fishing from the bank so it was tricky to land it

I've been using the super fluke jr. weightless on a 1/0 ewg. Just yesterday I was fishing gin clear water and I could see those bass just hunting that fluke down and just hammering it. It was a good day!
Another one is double fluke set up bro. Use 2 diffrent line lengths, like your main line, go up 12 inches up line, tie on a 12 inch leader, hook your heavy hooks, 2 flukes.... can be 💵!!!! Love these fluke videos! A few years ago I watched one of Matt and Tim's fluke videos and end up catching one of the biggest fish in have caught even to this day...flukes are so much fun especially this time of year.

The zoom and lunker city tiny fluke (3” I believe) is another good option for sizing way down. I typically use them on small jigheads or BFS style EWG hooks.

What we have here TB family is probably the most versatile bait that ever existed most definitely one of them. You can fish them shallow deep top water or fish them slow from skipping across lily pads to catching redfish in the surf the fluke should be in every fisherman's arsenal. Especially these days as it's often overlooked because of so many other baits on the market. When bass in your lake have seen every swimbait and every googan bait tie on a fluke! Thanks Tim

That donkey rig is my go to for juvenile tarpon up to about 30 pounds in south florida. Snook love them too.
I have won more local tournaments and caught more fish on the fluke than any other bait. Been fishing them since they first came out.🎣

I am a riverbank fisherman here in Fredericton New Brunswick. I use a weighted twist locks hooks in river current or just twist locks hooks in 4 and 5/0 hooks. I have the zoom and strike king KVD flukes

Appreciate the Twistlok through face of the fluke tip. I would have just used the smallest locks and used it the traditional way Texas rigged.

Bubblegum zoom flukes slay stripers and bluefish! What about a jighead? I rig on a 4/0 1/2oz tt headlock. Don't forget zman scented jerk shadz and streakz xl!

Take a look at Rabbid Baits Rab Shad. Six in. Hybird soft jirk bait. it's got fox Fure tail for a unique action. LMB eats them great turns out stripers on the delta can't leave them alone either. I don't sell them or make them. found them browsing the web.
Ive heard you say this is great time for bass to be chasing schooling downsized baitfish but no mention of the Alabama rig.... Logically I would think it would be a great choice as a lure during this time but never put it into practice. Is there a reason as to why or why not it would be used during this time period.

Bro, if your gonna use a flukes, staple is the zoom version. But bro, not to mention , Lunker city, the original fluke. Nobody has sizes that lunker city, atlest mention and give them some love, cause i been fishing them for 30 years(flukes), and in swifter water like small mouth rivers, creeks no better than a small Lunker city fluke.
Did we forget the weighted fluke? Hopping it off the bottom.
Broke my all purpose “safety blanket” rod yesterday and I think it’s time to diversify. I have a 7.1 med spinning rod for my drop shot, ned rig, finesse jig, etc. but I’d like to get a good casting rod for my other fave lures. I like cranks, spinners, bodes jigs, and I’d like to use swim jigs and the occasional whopper plopper too. Anyone know a good all rounder for those lures?
What price point?
Honestly for me anything with a treble hook like crank baits or top water with treble hooks I use a medium rod. For spinners, chatterbaits, Texas rig I use medium heavy. Fast. Try a Falcon from Academy or a 13 rod. See what you like. When I figured I liked a medium action on my cranks I got a shimano expride
How do you keep the twists out of your line? I've used swivels, but that adds weight that sinks it and also grabs vegetation.
What type of line are you using? It could just be line twist from loading the reel improperly. If using classic mono, just soak the reel in warm-hot tap water for a few minutes to relearn the ‘memory’ of the line to the reel.

They're the best bass boats ever made
They have a great ride in rough water. I’ve owned Skeeter, Ranger, Pro Craft and Champion and the Champion rides the best of those boats. It’s also the driest ride in rough windy conditions. Currently have a Champion. I’d really like to know what the most popular bassboat the locals run on the Great Lakes. Those lakes get really bad.
matt and tim were in california mostly on clear lake fishing open waters .Champion boats are one of the best for handling in rough water conditions on open lakes because of their hull design. It is known as a" deep v wedge"

Why do we throw an A-Rig in the spring when fish are feeding Pre-Spawn but not even talked about when fish are chasing giant bait balls throughout the fall?
We hold off as long as possible because we know we'll be throwing the thing all day every day in the Winter 😂

UPDATE: I fished the NRX+ DSR and it’s a big jump from the Expride in sensitivity. I was surprised with the number of subtle bites I could feel. Moving forward, looking to replace the Vanford 2000 size with an Exsense 3000. Is it a much better reel even those it’s heavier?
It's heavier but only slightly then again alot of these reels are highly overrated. My go to reel is still a 50 dollar abu Garcia black max. From bass tournaments to catching big reds in the surf it gets er done. Between that and curado 200s I don't need new rods and reels.
@@wolfspiritoutdoors158 yeah maybe they are but better, smoother gearing and quality materials show you usually get what you pay for. You could go out with a Walmart ugly stik if that’s what you want however you did get what you pay for. I’m curious; do you think higher end reels are overrated as well?
