tyler i feel like you dispense information in the clearest and most organized way. also like that you're upfront about who you're sponsored by, but you also don't cram it into us that your sponsor is the only option we should have y'know? anyways love your channel.
Love that you made a video just for this! I watched one of your videos in June and caught most of my big fish this summer on the fluke. Cool to see how you change it up for the fall feeding frenzy!
Can’t get enough of your videos Mate! Absolutely love what you're doing and so Inspirational, I’ve just started my own Spearfishing/fishing channel based on The Great Barrier Reef.
I think that's my problem I've been making shorter casts because I have not been able to catch them on flukes ......😂😂😂❤ your a pro my brother you weren't even trying no fair Tyler 😂😂😂❤❤❤❤ gbu !!!!
Love the info Tyler , it was exactly what I needed. Bought some fluke last month from bass bro and was wondering how and when to use them so thank you!!
Man, the videos you produce are consistently excellent. I've learned a ton watching you. I also really appreciate how upfront you are about your sponsors.
Your videos are very easy to understand very informative keep them coming . ???????? You ask us for video ideas here is my suggestion RODS define the different rods what the differences are and where in the rod is the differences are between a heavy action, medium , medium heavy and so on .Please and thank you.
I have a clear body of water that has no shad in it. I fish a martin gras, green pumpkin, or watermelon seed fluke completely weightless (unless your pond is deeper, mines not).
I've caught them really well in very choppy water like twenty+five mph winds, you have to really twitch it with a fast tip rod and maybe pause it on the retrieve to let them find it, but they will still hammer it, like knock the rod out of your grip hammer it
Question about ConnectScale 3... Can one scale be used for both the boater and co-angler as long as they both have their own phone or would they need individual scales while using the free app? Looking for possible scale system in our bass club.
Yep! You can connect it to one phone, and then assign a catch to someone else’s account. So technically you could use one scale and one phone for many different people. Contact them, and I’m sure they will be happy to assist you in the right way to do that
So with a clarity of .....probably 16 to 20 inches vis.....do you think a fluke is effective? The primary bait fish is shad so i have that in my favor. Thanks for any input.
great info as always. you did video and I can't find date for it but you fished lake in Texas had a bad reputation for no fish or small fish and you went and caught them on the rip rap, would like to see more of that content maybe pick a bad lake once a month or so, thanks and keep up the good work.
Tyler I got a really crazy question, does im8 im7 or like hm50/60 graphite rods have different strengths and how do you know which is the strongest cause I want to be able to go saltwater fishing without worrying about my rod breaking. Or maybe this doesn't matter I got no clue though.
It’s getting cold up here in MN. You should do a video on how to fish when the water temp is in the 30s/40s. I plan to keep going out till ice stops me then I will move to the local river.
I never considered a belly weighted hook for deeper water. I've mostly pond fished and only recently started boat fishing and can't buy a bite on a fluke. This will definitely help me out! Thanks!
Robbie , He is absolutely correct on the weighted hooks....i love them. They work on so many other plastics as well. I love using a 1/4 or 3/8 weighted hook on a 4" tube.....it's magic. Good luck brother. Experiment with allot of plastics.....you won't be disappointed
Hey Tyler! I know this is a couple of months late but what hook do you use for the fluke? I was thinking of getting Gamakatsu’s belly weighted swimbait hooks but didn’t like the twist lock on it. Thanks man!
How do you cast a weightless fluke on a baitcaster? I've tried throwing it on my MH baitcaster and its a backlash every time (which I know has to do with the lack of weight) but I still see other anglers get a good cast with it. Im assuming the answer is practice 😂
@@TylersReelFishing My bad i meant above, for line twists. Say 18 inches above it. I use one on a floating worm so just curious if i need one for a fluke
Air temp doesn’t really matter, it’s all about water temp. I stop throwing a soft jerkbait around 55° water, but I’m sure you could throw it down to 50°
Sadly, most of the places I fisher while in town we’re private, so you would not be able to get access to fish there. The only two I really know about are the pond at the junction, and the pond at Finfeather. I didn’t do a whole lot of public pond fishing when I was up there
You must have misinterpreted what I was saying, or maybe I was talking about the very small sized flukes. I almost always throw a full sized fluke on a baitcaster

I have a clear body of water that has no shad in it. I fish a martin gras, green pumpkin, or watermelon seed fluke completely weightless (unless your pond is deeper, mines not).
I fish weightless beaver baits in ponds, it has a more general profile that can represent a craw or bluegill and it will sink a bit faster

When the fish are not chasing enough for the swim jig. Just happened to me in the video I filmed yesterday
What size EWG hook do you use for 5inch fluke and what size for 4inch?
4/0, and 3/0 respectively
so it's possible that the reason i'm not getting bites with this lure is because the water in my local pond is just too murky?
Yep
Does this same retrieve work for the boot tail fluke?
Not quite. I would use more of a reel and stop retrieve
What size weighted hooks do you use with the flukes?
3/0 or 4/0
would a fluke work for cold and somewhat dirty water like 40 degrees out???
