    I had no appetite when I had Dengue fever. I could only drink water. When I had the first appetite coming back it was for Papaya. It took time but I did recover. *Old villager tales say that ground Papaya leaves served as a hot tea alleviate Dengue symptoms! particularly in small children.

      I appreciate you sharing your experience! It's interesting how personal preferences during illness can guide recovery. The mention of using ground Papaya leaves as a hot tea aligns with some traditional practices. While it's essential to seek medical advice for serious illnesses like Dengue, these insights into local remedies are always fascinating. If you have more stories or experiences you'd like to share, feel free to do so. Wishing you continued health!

      I live in Rayong Thailand where Dengue can get very prevalent during the rainy season! The old ladies from the villages passed on the 'Papaya leaf tea remedy! It certainly seems to be a popular 'go to' treatment for poor villagers! I have had Dengue twice! Not good at all! Thanks!!@@SimpleHealthHabits101

    Papaya is sweet, so is it really good for for diabetics ? What is the GI and GL of papaya ?

    • @SimpleHealthHabits101
      @SimpleHealthHabits101  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great question! While papaya is sweet, it has a relatively low glycemic index (GI) and glycemic load (GL), making it a reasonable choice for many diabetics in moderation. The fiber content also helps regulate blood sugar. I appreciate your curiosity! Is the papaya more healthy when eaten with the seeds? Do we need to eat papaya everyday in order to reap the benefits? Eat on an empty stomach, but can you eat it after a meal? After all, if it breaks down protein, should it not be eaten after food? I don't understand. Thanks.

    • @SimpleHealthHabits101
      @SimpleHealthHabits101  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey @telemyztery, thanks for reaching out!
      Papaya is a fantastic fruit, and your questions about seeds and timing are spot on. Let's break it down:
      Papaya Seeds:
      Seed Savvy: You can definitely eat papaya seeds! They're packed with nutrients like healthy fats and papain, an enzyme that helps digest protein.
      Taste Test: Some folks find the seeds a bit peppery. If that's not your thing, no worries - you can skip them and still get the goodness from the papaya flesh.
      Moderation is Key: While some sources say papaya seeds are perfectly fine, others recommend consuming them in limited quantities. It's best to listen to your body and avoid large amounts, especially if you experience any digestive discomfort.
      Papaya Power:
      Daily Dose: While daily papaya is great, it's not essential. Incorporating it regularly into your diet will give you a good dose of vitamins and antioxidants.
      Morning or Munch-Time: The beauty of papaya is its versatility! It can be enjoyed on an empty stomach to kickstart digestion or after a meal to aid protein breakdown.
      Protein Punch:
      True, papain does break down protein. But, this happens mainly on individual protein molecules, not significantly impacting your overall protein absorption after a meal.
      Here's the Simple Health Habit Takeaway:
      Enjoy your papaya, seeds or no seeds!
      Daily consumption is a plus, but incorporate it regularly for optimal benefits.
      Empty stomach or after a meal? You choose! It depends on your digestive preferences.
      For papaya seeds specifically, listen to your body and consume them in moderation.
      I hope this clarifies things! Let me know if you have any other questions.

    • @SimpleHealthHabits101

      Great question! While ripe papaya is generally safe for pregnant women, it's essential to avoid unripe or semi-ripe papaya, as it contains latex, which can trigger contractions. Always consult with your healthcare provider for personalized advice during pregnancy. Thanks for watching!

    How many days should I take papaya seeds?

    • @SimpleHealthHabits101
      @SimpleHealthHabits101  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The duration for taking papaya seeds can vary depending on the specific health goal or concern you're addressing. If you're considering papaya seeds for digestive health or potential parasite-fighting properties, some people incorporate them into their diet for a limited period, such as a week or two.
      However, it's crucial to emphasize that the use of papaya seeds, like any supplement or natural remedy, should be approached with caution and individual considerations. Excessive consumption may have adverse effects, and it's essential to consult with a healthcare professional before making significant changes to your diet, especially if you have existing health conditions or are on medications.
      Your healthcare provider can provide personalized advice based on your health status and goals. If you have specific concerns or if you're considering papaya seeds for a particular reason, discussing it with your healthcare professional is the best approach.

      I appreciate your perspective! While it may sound surprising, overeating papaya can sometimes lead to discomfort or a feeling of interference in the food pipe, especially for individuals with sensitive digestive systems. Papaya contains papain, an enzyme that helps break down protein. In large amounts, it might break down too much food at once, causing bloating, gas, or indigestion. It's essential to listen to your body and consume papaya in moderation to avoid any potential discomfort. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
