Fuck me... Tried to find the academy for like an hour and gave up. Untill i look at the video on my pc and read the comments. Do you need to clear bosses in the academy, or can you skip through it to the bridge?
@@emilglud3245 You get the key then walk through the seal at one of the two gates. That will send you to Academy Main Gate where you can find the bridge. The academy itself would be up the elevator but you don't need to go up there yet.

@@saintjon87 I literaly played 3-4 days around 8 hours per day. You could do the same by playing 2-3 hours per 1 month but I never get time to play games due to work and other stuff so I abused those free days xd . This guide helped alot.
First time player here, my buddy recommended samurai to me and I’m so glad I found your videos. The biggest mistake a newbie does is well round the points. As a samurai a mostly melé character there is little need to boost intellect. Yet I was considering it thinking it was low. Again thank for helping me not waste my time and runes. Big thumbs up.
@@adamhan9952 his level is the average level, not too low and quite far from high. I think he was level 150 in the video can't remember now but I'm certain it wasn't higher
For those struggling to farm the golden armor set, I found that the best way to farm the knights is to do it on horseback and kill them off one by one. You can avoid the poison this way and if you circle around the knight then they will adopt a defensive stance instead of throwing a bunch of skills at you.
What a video. I just loved how you made it easier for everyone by taking your time to figure out better and easier ways for us to complete the build. Like how you had us to go to 2 locations for the smithing stones. Amazing Video

Took me over 20 hours to finally complete this build. Wow. It’s amazing. Thanks for the video! I’ll add one more piece of info for everyone. Make sure that as your leveling your character invest in Arcane early. Not only will it help proc Bleed but it also increases your Discovery stat which makes a huge difference when farming.
@@Sjors98__ If you don’t care about the weapon damage then you can use the reduvia dagger and then ignore dexterity and focus on the ash of war. If you’re going to follow this build then no it is not advisable skipping dexterity.
@@AmeerMij Did you kill the invader at the river in limgrave then talk to yura at the beach southwest of limgrave then also killed the invader at the entrance of Raya lucaria. Yura should be laying down on the 2nd church of Marika by then and you will get your Nagakiba to face the last of that invader to get her pole weapon.
Hey Nizar, great video. A note: Two handing your sword will prevent your sword bouncing off. Also, jump attacks will usually poise break the Crystallian in 4 or 5 jump attacks. Then critical to break its armor
Or you can just use a strike weapon & a single charged R2 will poise break them for a crit (of course taking into account the leveling & which level Crystallian you're fighting)
on S raB's note, the Morning Star is easily accesible in the wagon's already open chest at the very top of the Weeping Peninsula. Highly suggest a quick pilgrimmage through there on a new character if only to grab the three churches' Sacred Tears. If you buff with the spiked crack tear physick before, it takes 2 chargeds&1light attack without even upgrading the Morning Star (assuming your stats are similar to the videos). ez farm But can fully respect anyone committed to the dual katanas.
For anyone struggling to farm the rot armour, just upgrade both of your katanas to +12ish each and you should be able to 2 shot the knights with bloody slash. The invader also goes down in 2 hits just climb up on the roots to make it easier
Im following your guide as we speak. Im a brand new player, was following a knight build but always wanted Katana..seeing your dual wield made me fall in love. Im only in beginnings, killed the big dragon boss and got the legendary talisman, now on my way to getting the weapon. Thank you bro. Eventually i will look forward to your late game op build!!
This is a very good guide. I'm following it and have one thing to point out: The way I found to get to the entrace of the Raya Academy was by getting the glintstone key from behind the dragon. I didn't have to kill the dragon, but it was a step that was necessary.

Note: if you have already killed the first bloody finger with yuras help before visiting him to start his quest. You can find him in the murkwater cave, under the overpass you go under to get to your first bloody finger fight. Then just follow through with the steps.

I started grinding this 3 days ago. I’m still trying to get the boots to drop. I’m convinced that I’d win the power ball before I get those boots to drop to complete the armor set.

loved this video, it has helped get a bearing of the game. a note: some things you skip over like how your golden finger will run out before you kill the dragon. thats kinda important. along with parts that you jumped through like most people are suppose to know but for new players they may not. just a thought!
Ye true would be better to pop it when it's health is really low. I messed up the farm because I killed him the first time and didn't know to run back and reset lol it's all good tho I would've been there for hours and hours and been too op
9:40 for this boss fight buy a club from the twin maiden husks, don’t have to upgrade at all and then just keep on hitting. Works just as well and saves time.

For anyone doing this guide rn here are a few missing points that helped me doing the run as a new player; - For the academy u need to get a key, search a guide for it, the location isnt too far away. - Use a blunt weapon for the cave boss it helps with the sealed tunnel mobs too. - I did this guide after defeating godrick but if iirc, theres a way to skip the castle and go directly to liurna, look for another video to do it.
So, you can actually kill the dragon repeatedly if you're on horseback and race back to the Fort Farum site of grace as soon as you land the kill-blow. You get the runes, the dragon doesn't register as dead to the game, and you can do this as many times as you'd like if you do it properly.
@@noorhakimmohamad9196 Well, if you wait too long then the sleeping dragon stays dead, but if you rush to the grace sight near the Fort while on horseback, you can technically cheese the game into giving you the runes without permanently killing it. In effect, yes, it hasn't been patched.

now if only I could figure out how to get to the academy to kill the second boss to get the katana. Took a bit to find but in the swamp to the west outside of rya lucaria academy there is a dragon. If you sneak or run in behind the dragon you’ll find the key for unlocking the academy once inside you don’t have to clear it you can make it to the second invasion needed to complete part two of obtaining the katana.

I had just started playing the game, so once I truly started grasping the combat mechanics in combination with this build, became a blast! For the crystalline boss I take out a flail or mace that you can get really early on, jump attacks smash this boss very easily, just incase people are struggling to beat the boss, same in the sealed tunnel against the ads, I know it's about the swords but it helps to speed up the farm😁
A tip for farming Smithing stone 5, you can use blood blade but instead of using it as a projectile, go close to the enemy and use it as a melee. If you do this, bleed will proc after 2 hits.
@@CarsonDaniels It took me about 20 tries before they even dropped the first smithing stone 5, just keep at it they will drop them eventually. I didn't have much luck so it took me a while to get the amount needed but just keep reseting :D

After a pretty tedious 3 hours in the Sealed Tunnel, I just got very lucky and had the full armour set drop from the cleanrot knights in under 30 minutes. well chuffed. great guide btw :D

I've been looking for a video like this for the Samurai. Great job. I find unsheathe on the nagakiba works better (maybe because I need more points in arcane for the blood slash. I don't like damaging myself every time I use it though either.). Great video though. Subbed.
For bleed the arcane works a bit weirdly compared to other scalings. You have a barrier of entry at 25. Until then bleed scales bad. Then it jumps up 3-4 times and scales amazingly until 45. It's like the earlier levels are to unlock the scaling and then you get the value with the later points. At 45 the scaling gets even worse than it was until 25 and at 60 is just drops off the face of the planet. So if you are going arcane you have to get really dedicated to it and get 45 ASAP. Early arcane builds are not something I would recommend as I tried somethign nearly identical to this but but not skipping around the map and actually playing normally. You just don't get enough bleed weapons and the ones you can make blood affinity can't be easily upgraded because normal stones are a pain to get. And even then because of the way arcane scales bleed buildup and the huge drop of AR with blood affinity you just can't perform well. I recommend instead to get your other stats going vitality/stamina/dexterity to around 20 each and then go dedicated arcane past 25 all the way to 45. Arcane can be strong as solo scaling stat but you need a weapon with bleed already on it baseline and then set it to occult. Damage will scale as if it was scaling as keen off of dex while bleed will also go up significantly. Problem is Occult ashes suck for the most part. can;t be found early and you need the wetstone to use other ashes..... That is why weapons like Eleonora's Poleblade, which you get along with the Nagakiba are so powerful for arcane builds. Its already occult scaling, bleed scales too s after 25 it gets crazy, twinbaldes already have higher base bleed buildup than almost anything else, uses somber stones, the ash of war is amazing since it hits so many times it will bleed anything, and whatever survives the second part will be poise broken. Options are plenty. ;D I myself gave up on the katanas even though I was going for dual wild katana arcane build at the start. Getting there is too complicated and slow and is not even that good, because katanas that are being praised as fast weapons are actually really too slow in my opinion and going twin curved swords is way better. Also due to the dragon communion seal being the best scaling seal you actually are better at faith casting than faith builds. As long as you have the faith to cast the incantations, but lower level ones are actually the best for this so as long as you have 17 for lightning bolt it will unintentionally out damage everything else you have as arcane build, so getting the talisman +5 faith makes this so easy and natural. Curently I am also rocking 2 heavy impaling swords, which are underrated AF. They are heavy so they do great stagger, damage is really high and they attack as fast if not faster than katanas, while having the range of spears. Moveset is better IMO. Also a unique weapon that is similar to the Eleonora's Poleblade exists and also has great unique ash. So you don't have to damage yourself to play a very strong arcane build. And you can swap some talismans and be as good at sorceries or incantations as those dedicated builds with the right seal/staff.

i prefered to get curved bandit swords at the church in the weeping peninsula and use the lost ash of war for the second bleed affinity without ever leaving Limgrave.
Imo the jump attack isn't amazing for applying bleed with Katanas like it is for curved swords (not enough hits). Maybe Prostheses wearer's talisman. Winged sword is nice. Def Lord of Blood's exultation, but you need to get to the capital for that. Otherwise just go defensive.

Rivers of blood is the best sword in the game. I really don't get why he's using the naga either. The Uchi scales way better with arcane. Also if you want something good for ranged, the Serpent bow also scales with the same stats and is light...plus procs poison super fast and you can just buy the highest poison arrows.
For some reason, at the sealed tunnel at first only one of the miners dropped smithing stone 5 and after that none of them drop anything even after resting at the site of grace and trying again.
Great guide, especially for newbies! The exploring to find each location and the skill increases due to fighting tough enemies, for example I just got the first ash of war last night after getting gud against that knight. Can’t wait to complete this build to finally play the game!

The bridge is outside the academy, you don't have to enter the academy itself

Additional tip, farming the enemies on dragonbarrow fork using blood slash is an easy way of getting like 15000 runes per minute
After you teach level 713, what else can you spend your runes on?

For the gear the load is medium in the vid but me is heavy idk why
@les farceur The weapons you equip also add weight so make sure that you only have one katana in each arm with nothing else equipped.
I keep getting invaded and bring forced off my horse into the rot when I get to that area. I haven't seen one knight yet.

This is a very good guide. I'm following it and have one thing to point out: The way I found to get to the entrace of the Raya Academy was by getting the glintstone key from behind the dragon. I didn't have to kill the dragon, but it was a step that was necessary.

Note: if you have already killed the first bloody finger with yuras help before visiting him to start his quest. You can find him in the murkwater cave, under the overpass you go under to get to your first bloody finger fight. Then just follow through with the steps.

loved this video, it has helped get a bearing of the game. a note: some things you skip over like how your golden finger will run out before you kill the dragon. thats kinda important. along with parts that you jumped through like most people are suppose to know but for new players they may not. just a thought!

9:40 for this boss fight buy a club from the twin maiden husks, don’t have to upgrade at all and then just keep on hitting. Works just as well and saves time.

For anyone doing this guide rn here are a few missing points that helped me doing the run as a new player;
- For the academy u need to get a key, search a guide for it, the location isnt too far away.
- Use a blunt weapon for the cave boss it helps with the sealed tunnel mobs too.
- I did this guide after defeating godrick but if iirc, theres a way to skip the castle and go directly to liurna, look for another video to do it.
So, you can actually kill the dragon repeatedly if you're on horseback and race back to the Fort Farum site of grace as soon as you land the kill-blow. You get the runes, the dragon doesn't register as dead to the game, and you can do this as many times as you'd like if you do it properly.

@@noorhakimmohamad9196 Well, if you wait too long then the sleeping dragon stays dead, but if you rush to the grace sight near the Fort while on horseback, you can technically cheese the game into giving you the runes without permanently killing it.

I got all of this done with the bloodhound fang and it honestly just made me realize how much more I like the bloodhound fang than the nagakiba lol
Quality vid. Loved the music and everything behind the weapon intros and how you say Nagakiba lol. Just now getting Elden ring and this helped so much
now if only I could figure out how to get to the academy to kill the second boss to get the katana. Took a bit to find but in the swamp to the west outside of rya lucaria academy there is a dragon. If you sneak or run in behind the dragon you’ll find the key for unlocking the academy once inside you don’t have to clear it you can make it to the second invasion needed to complete part two of obtaining the katana.

I had just started playing the game, so once I truly started grasping the combat mechanics in combination with this build, became a blast! For the crystalline boss I take out a flail or mace that you can get really early on, jump attacks smash this boss very easily, just incase people are struggling to beat the boss, same in the sealed tunnel against the ads, I know it's about the swords but it helps to speed up the farm😁

A tip for farming Smithing stone 5, you can use blood blade but instead of using it as a projectile, go close to the enemy and use it as a melee. If you do this, bleed will proc after 2 hits.

@@CarsonDaniels It took me about 20 tries before they even dropped the first smithing stone 5, just keep at it they will drop them eventually. I didn't have much luck so it took me a while to get the amount needed but just keep reseting :D

After a pretty tedious 3 hours in the Sealed Tunnel, I just got very lucky and had the full armour set drop from the cleanrot knights in under 30 minutes. well chuffed. great guide btw :D

recommend using nightriders flail or spiked mace for clearing smithing stone tunnels, just two hand and upgrade with the bell bearing stones
I just use the standard mace I found at the very beginning of the game, no alters just the wild strikes Ashes of war.
I'm only level 50 currently though so it will probably need some smithing soon to keep up with the enemies difficulty scaling as I get higher levels

I've been looking for a video like this for the Samurai. Great job. I find unsheathe on the nagakiba works better (maybe because I need more points in arcane for the blood slash. I don't like damaging myself every time I use it though either.). Great video though. Subbed.
For bleed the arcane works a bit weirdly compared to other scalings. You have a barrier of entry at 25. Until then bleed scales bad. Then it jumps up 3-4 times and scales amazingly until 45. It's like the earlier levels are to unlock the scaling and then you get the value with the later points. At 45 the scaling gets even worse than it was until 25 and at 60 is just drops off the face of the planet. So if you are going arcane you have to get really dedicated to it and get 45 ASAP. Early arcane builds are not something I would recommend as I tried somethign nearly identical to this but but not skipping around the map and actually playing normally. You just don't get enough bleed weapons and the ones you can make blood affinity can't be easily upgraded because normal stones are a pain to get. And even then because of the way arcane scales bleed buildup and the huge drop of AR with blood affinity you just can't perform well.
I recommend instead to get your other stats going vitality/stamina/dexterity to around 20 each and then go dedicated arcane past 25 all the way to 45. Arcane can be strong as solo scaling stat but you need a weapon with bleed already on it baseline and then set it to occult. Damage will scale as if it was scaling as keen off of dex while bleed will also go up significantly. Problem is Occult ashes suck for the most part. can;t be found early and you need the wetstone to use other ashes..... That is why weapons like Eleonora's Poleblade, which you get along with the Nagakiba are so powerful for arcane builds. Its already occult scaling, bleed scales too s after 25 it gets crazy, twinbaldes already have higher base bleed buildup than almost anything else, uses somber stones, the ash of war is amazing since it hits so many times it will bleed anything, and whatever survives the second part will be poise broken. Options are plenty. ;D
I myself gave up on the katanas even though I was going for dual wild katana arcane build at the start. Getting there is too complicated and slow and is not even that good, because katanas that are being praised as fast weapons are actually really too slow in my opinion and going twin curved swords is way better. Also due to the dragon communion seal being the best scaling seal you actually are better at faith casting than faith builds. As long as you have the faith to cast the incantations, but lower level ones are actually the best for this so as long as you have 17 for lightning bolt it will unintentionally out damage everything else you have as arcane build, so getting the talisman +5 faith makes this so easy and natural. Curently I am also rocking 2 heavy impaling swords, which are underrated AF. They are heavy so they do great stagger, damage is really high and they attack as fast if not faster than katanas, while having the range of spears. Moveset is better IMO. Also a unique weapon that is similar to the Eleonora's Poleblade exists and also has great unique ash. So you don't have to damage yourself to play a very strong arcane build. And you can swap some talismans and be as good at sorceries or incantations as those dedicated builds with the right seal/staff.

i prefered to get curved bandit swords at the church in the weeping peninsula and use the lost ash of war for the second bleed affinity without ever leaving Limgrave.
Amazing guide as always man! What’s the other talisman you suggest? Maybe claw talisman to increase jump attack damage?
Imo the jump attack isn't amazing for applying bleed with Katanas like it is for curved swords (not enough hits).
Maybe Prostheses wearer's talisman. Winged sword is nice. Def Lord of Blood's exultation, but you need to get to the capital for that.
Otherwise just go defensive.

I ended up getting the raptor feathers armour in Altus and the Claw Talisman before grinding the stones and it shreds
After watching this yesterday I am now level 38 and have level 13 katanas and I started from a new character and followed along with his video

Rivers of blood is the best sword in the game. I really don't get why he's using the naga either. The Uchi scales way better with arcane. Also if you want something good for ranged, the Serpent bow also scales with the same stats and is light...plus procs poison super fast and you can just buy the highest poison arrows.

For some reason, at the sealed tunnel at first only one of the miners dropped smithing stone 5 and after that none of them drop anything even after resting at the site of grace and trying again.

Great guide, especially for newbies! The exploring to find each location and the skill increases due to fighting tough enemies, for example I just got the first ash of war last night after getting gud against that knight. Can’t wait to complete this build to finally play the game!

I finally retried Elden ring and this by far has been the most helpful video I’ve ever seen on it. I had no clue you had to upgrade your weapons with smithing stones let alone the bosses that drop them to help you purchase them haha
